A ROAD TO NOWHERE
Episode 11
Oscar drove with one hand holding his head with the other, Becca kept eating and talking, he never replies her, he kept driving while showing sign of serous pain, he suddenly stopped the car.
“Get down…now
Becca looked round surprisingly, and licked the oil on her hand, she drank the remaining yogurt and threw the empty can out, she looked at Oscar,
“What are you doing, how can you stop me in the middle of nowhere, I don’t even know this place…what if I got lost…
Oscar looked at her fully, there were food oil, tomato paste and other food crumbs all over her mouth and hands, which she got from the chicken and chips she was presently eating, she was determine to finish every food inside the pack, she look miserable, she was obviously eating out of frustration, she doesn’t want to be sad, so the food was keeping her together from loosing her sanity, on a normal day he would have given in to a hard laugh because Becca looks funny, but he doesn’t know what laughter feels like right now, and he is not in the mood to be amused..
“get lost Becca, I don’t care, just get out of my car, you said I should drop you at any nearest bustop, and if you go left there’s a bustop not too far from here, or better still ask around, just leave and find your way, I gave you enough money, so just go, you are adding to my pain, I asked you earlier to shut up but you kept talking and eating like you have never seeing food before, I can’t go further with you, get down…
“okay…I’m sorry, sorry…I promise to shut up for good, I will never make a sound, please don’t drop me here, this place look deserted, I will not talk, I will just eat in peace, and will be careful when I chew so that it won’t make a noise, and I also want to help you, if the headache becomes unbearable for you and you can’t drive anymore I will help you to any nearest clinic or hospital…I have conscience Oscar, I know I can be bad but only when I’m crossed, and to people I don’t like, I will help you to any hospital if you break down…but we have past hospitals and you never bother to stop…anyway..i just want to help..I’m serio…
“shu shu..keep quiet…stop saying rubbish…I have a place and someone that can attend to me very well, that’s where I’m driving to, my head is spinning Becca and you are adding to it…I don’t think I can drive any further until this headache pass, you want to help me but you can not drive, so how will you help me…you are just worsening my whole trouble, you are just miserable and pulling all your sadness into food, look at yourself in the side mirror…you look stupid…
“I will just pity you and accept any insult you throw at me, after all I’m the one that need a favor, I know I can not drive but I can push, I will help you by pushing the car, while you rest inside…I will just come down and push the car to any hospital or better still carry you and the car on my head …don’t underestimate me…anyway I can I will help you…ooh…I’m talking too much again…forgive me, I promise to keep quiet after now, I zip my mouth…please don’t drop me here…
Oscar high the car air condition, and put his head on it, he stayed that way for sometime, Becca saw a boy hawking cold water, she called the boy and bought two bottle water, she asked Oscar to open the door and put out his head so that she can pour it on him, Oscar quickly agreed he needed anything that will relive him of his pain, he turned off the car, while Becca stepped down, she took the cold bottle water, opened one and drank deeply into it, she belched and then made a loud noise with her throat, since she is not allowed to say anything with her mouth she can make a sound with her throat, Oscar didn’t bother looking up he was more bothered with his head than the disgusting sound that Becca was making from eating and drinking too much, Becca came over to Oscar and poured the remaining water on his head, Oscar waited, and the cold water eased him a little, Becca never said a word as she went back to her seat, she made another sound and held her stomach…her stomach started rumbling.
“Wait…wait…Oscar…i want to fart…like pollute…gas…I want to use a toilet…aah my stomach…please wait…
Oscar looked at her as she went down again, she stayed close to the door and released a very loud fart, the whole air around was messed up, Oscar covered his nose and held his breath, Becca later came back to the car smiling from ear to ear,
“I feel a little better now, you can start the car let’s go, the air condition will suck all the bad smell, so leave your nose before you faint, is not smelling again, I don’t meant to talk but this was emergency.
Oscar ignored her, Becca was full of drama, he really wanted to laugh, but all he could do was to shake his head gently before starting the car and increasing the air condition again, , he drove straight to a hospital.
Clara checked the time and knew that Ryan will soon be on his way back, she gave him two hours to go and do whatever he wants to do, she asked him to buy cold stone ice cream and pizza for her on his way back, her usual favorite, which he never fails to, she is determined to ruin him, and is just a matter of months she will be down with him, she wore her moon baby bum back and covered up, she went and sat in the living room and continued the movie she was watching, after sometime she checked the time, an hour has passed, she waited and kept watching movie on the television, she later checked again and another hour was almost gone, Ryan was not back, he’s being gone for almost five hours, which was unlike him, he doesn’t disobey her or go against her timing without a good explanation, but this was too much,
Clara started thinking of different things, wondering what could be keeping Ryan, did he drove to go and see Becca who’s house was far from his, because if it was Sarah then he was suppose to be back home by now, she decided to call Becca first, to know what she’s upto, she picked up her phone and call Becca,
“hello babe, wasup…this one I have not hard from you since, you seen to be having a squeal time with your bobo…Ryan must be giving it to you hot…hmmm…lover girl…I guess your boyfriend is there.. that’s why you just forgot about me…is not fair o..
“what boyfriend, please forget about that one, I’m in the hospital, yeah, serious case o, is a long story babe, I will give you all the gist when I see you, Ryan is a big fool and a cheat, he almost got himself killed which I’m still going to do, he was sleeping with Oscar’s girlfriend, seriously…Ryan is an animal, he was cheating on me with that girl called Sarah, do you remember that girl we saw one day at Ryan’s house and I attacked her because she was coming out of Ryan’s room, yes…that one, she is Ryan’s girlfriend o…for real, but she fully belong to Oscar, yes…she’s Oscar’s girlfriend but Ryan was making out with her and Oscar caught them, Ryan was beaten to stupor, while Oscar sustained a serious injury to his head, from his girlfriend, she threw her hill shoe at him and the hard hill smashed his head…I followed him down to the hospital, yes Oscar, he has gone inside, I’m standing outside the hospital…it was serious, somebody would have being dead by now, if not that Oscar dragged me out, Ryan is still with the foolish girl, in her house, he was seriously beaten babe, but I wish he was even dead because he is of no use to me or any one, just a chronic cheat…I hate him so much, Clara you are so lucky…I envy you, I must tell you the truth, I really envy you, look at you, your boyfriend treats you like a queen, and he is caring for you and looking forward to your due date of delivery, to welcoming his baby with you…he is a nice man, I will get to see him someday and thank him for being an exceptional man, Ryan is a b@stard..i really hate him…I will tell you more when I see you…don’t worry about me…I’m fine, just take care of yourself and the baby…I have to go…
The line went dead, as Becca ended the call, Clara started laughing seriously, she wish all of them have die from the drama, she will just be comfortable in her world, she was happy that Becca has withdrawn from Ryan, which was a fantastic news for her, she was having a full territory no intruder, Clara decided to call Ryan and act angry, she acted like she didn’t hear anything, she called severally before Ryan picked
“Mr Man…where are you, I gave you two hours and you have used five, I hope you are counting the time, because you will hear it from me hot, I wonder the kind of explanation you will give this time, but make sure you don’t forget my Pizza and ice cream, I will send you back if you come back without it, I have being waiting for it because that’s what our tiny baby wants…the baby has being kicking me since, and will only stop when I eat the pizza…where are you now…?
“I had accident Clara…I’m not coming back today…can’t come back, I’m in a hospital…treating myself…I can’t make it back…
“Accident…so what will happen to my demands…what will me and my baby eat…why are you so filled with disappointment.. why will you have accident now that I’m pregnant, who will take care of me tonight…you are so terrible Ryan…since that accident did not kill you, after your treatment go and get what I asked for and add fruits to it, because the one in the fridge is not much again and you know fruits are very good for pregnancy, if you come home empty handed I will kill you myself, fool…nonsense…
Clara ended the call and kept laughing, she checked the door and it was locked properly, she pulled out the baby moon bum from her stomach, and dumped it aside, she changed to a music station and loud, it, she danced to the kitchen, and checked the kitchen fridge, it was stock up, Ryan has being the one cooking all this while, she doesn’t even cook, Ryan was a good cook, and since he was not around and was not coming back, she will just fix something good for herself, the house belongs to her full now, she will eat and drink anything she want. She was still dancing to the background music which was so loud as she went about making herself a delicious meal.
When Oscar got to Melinda hospital with Becca, whom he asked to go but she insisted on staying until they attended to him, some other nurse on duty wanted to attend to him but he insisted it must be Melinda, and Melinda was called, when she came and saw Oscar she wanted to turn back but it was against the hospital rule, and looking at Oscar he was badly injured, because his shirt was filled with blood stain, she paused and looked at the girl beside him, she was a strange girl, not Sarah, the girl has food stain on her cloths, and food particles on her face, she was beautiful, Oscar must be so lucky having so many beautiful women around him, is no more Sarah is now a strange girl looking stuffed, Melinda wanted to know what happened and who the girl was but realized she doesn’t have business with Oscar only to attend to his wound,
As Oscar saw Melinda coming, he straightened, she was still very beautiful in her nurse uniform, he knows he treated her bad but he couldn’t help it, he was in love and can’t keep her because Sarah was not comfortable around her, she called her name but she ignored him and asked them to follow her to where he will be attended to,
Becca saw the nurse, and the way he looked at Oscar, even though she was trying to do her job professionally, she can see that she and Oscar must have a thing together before, the nurse look at her, not in a disgusting manner but in pity, she tried to smile before checking Oscar’s wound, the fine nurse asked she Oscar to follow her, Becca told her that she wants to use the ladies, where their restroom was located, Melinda directed her and she left. While Oscar followed Melinda.
“How did you sustained your head injury sir…
“Melinda…Melinda…please stop this…why the “sir” why are you acting like you don’t know me…
“How did you sustain your head injury sir…are you having a migraine, how do you feel, any information you give will be helpful in your treatment. So kindly speak up…sir..
“hmmm…I had accident, i hit my head on something, on a hard object and got the injury and I’m having a serious headache…bad one that I can’t even turn my head left or right…
“Thank you for the information sir… please take this aspiring first it will help with your head, is a pain reliever, it will ease the head ach, then take off your shirt, and lie down on the hospital bed, face down while I clean up your wound, after your wound is attended to you will have to go to a barber and shave off your hair, because I’m going to shave off the hairs around the wound now before putting a plaster on it after I’m done, then you can go shave off the rest for a normal hair growth…
Oscar did as he was told, after taking the drug that Melinda gave him, he put off his shirt, Melinda turned on seeing his bare chest, she tried to look away, Oscar noticed her discomfort and asked if he can leave his shirt on while she attend to him, but she told him that the shirt is covered with blood and he can’t have it on, Melinda stood still trying to be still and not allow anything to distract her or remind her of what she was trying to forget, after Oscar was done, he looked up at Melinda, and they locked eyes for sometime, she looked down to his lips and then look away, she asked him to lay down of which he did, and Melinda started attending to his wound, Oscar shake at Melinda’s softly touched him, he flinched in pain as Melinda clean his wound, but Melinda did not say a word, she was trying to be gentle on him.
Becca came back, feeling better off, all the food particles’ was all gone, she was feeling better than the last time, she saw the fine nurse attending to Oscar, she was gentle on him, then Oscar made another painful cry and Becca started talking..
“lover boy, you would have allowed me to give her a little mark on her body, she can’t be enjoying while you are suffering in pain, and you were still defending her…Sarah is so unfortunate…I would have deal with her if not that you stopped me, she did not only break your heart she also break your head, with that bastard Ryan…two unfortunate people, is only God that saved them…and I’m done with Ryan…I will so deal with him…he is a dead man…he will hate women after I’m done with him…he can’t cheat on me and feels is normal…no he can’t get away with…he
Oscar who doesn’t know how to tell Becca to shut up because he was lying face down have to surprisingly stood up with force…
“Becca…please leave, leave here, go back to your house…just go…go right now or I will push you out…you are a foolish girl…talks too much…leave here at once…
Becca stood up with speed, she went to the door to avoid Ryan’s anger…
“lover boy…I didn’t break your head…you didn’t even shout at the girl that did this to you…why are you shouting at me…I was only trying to help you…anyway I’m going to my house…nurse…please take care of him…we are both heart broken…let me go home and mend my own heart…because is only my heart that is affected…but him has his heart and his head…I don’t blame him…he is so angry…I’m gone…I will come check you another day…and bring the news of Ryan misfortune to you…
“I guess you will have more than a heart break to mend when you eventually come in term with the truth… you will find more shocking secret soon, just be prepared Becca, but leave here at once…I have my head to worry about, you are not my problem…
“I don’t even understand what you are talking about…this is how madness start… you are talking like a crazy person, but whatever happens I’m everly ready…whoever that crosses me is so dead…I don’t care who the person is…but don’t be scared…I won’t hurt Sarah…because I don’t want to die before my time…I know you are ready to kill for her…I want to die a natural death not in your hand…I’m out…please nurse attend to his head and if possible open his heart…is broken too…and stitch it if possible…his head and heart needs serious attention…bye lover boy….
Becca left while laughing, Melinda has being quiet as she listen to Becca and Oscar, After Becca left she asked Oscar to put back his head on the bed and not shake again so that she can finish with him, she has other things to do, Oscar lay back on the bed, putting his face down while Melinda attend to him.
