CHAPTER 30

Tatiana was already shaking as she read the posts which kept coming in every minute, and her veins bulged…

“Jemima!!” She yelled and was about to smash the phone when CleoSpeedy’s call rang on it. She swiped green.

“Did you see the nonsense they’re all saying on the blog?” She said.

“You’re not the only one going ¢razy, I’m going ¢razy here too!” Tatiana yelled.

“Then do something! My notifications kept chiming with their insults! I lost 1000+ followers already cos the video is trending!” CleoSpeedy shouted, and Tatiana’s eyes widened.

She hung up and went to her iG…she lost followers too… 500+

“Dmn! No… dmnit!!!” She yelled, finally smashing her phone.

MILLAS’ APARTMENT

Maxwell ran in and met the living room empty, so he rushed inside and met granny Suzy in bed with piles of comforter on her, covering her from the cold.

Her head was wrapped with a shawl too so only her face is visible, and she’s asleep. The heater is on and Cypress is beside her.

“Baby!” He gasped, walking in.

“Don’t wake her, I applied the balm on her back already so she should be at ease now, she’d be free from the flu when she wakes” Cypress said, and Maxwell sighed before sitting beside her.

“You promised not to leave us like our parents, so please…keep fighting” he muttered, and Cypress came closer to stroke his hair.

“Don’t start crying, she’d be fine” she said, and he nodded as his phone rang.

It’s an unknown number, so he picked slowly.

“I need you in the office right now” Jemima’s voice said, and he spranged up

“Boss?”

“You don’t even have my number? Well it’s not my headache, go to the office right now and write a report on the topic I sent to your mail” she replied.

“Right now? It’s past 10!” He shouted.

“It’s needed before 7am tommorow, so what are you gonna do?” She replied, and he went silent.

“Go do it right now” she ordered and hung up.

Maxwell got his jacket immediately.

“Where are you going?” Cypress asked.

“The office, I need to get something done” he replied.

“By this time? Mell you…

“Take care of my baby” he said and left the house.

No taxis in the street anymore, so he walked out of the street for almost twenty minutes before he luckily found a taxi on the main road.

It drove him to the company, and he opened the door with his card.

He got to his floor and got the laptop on his table to check his mail. He found the topic she sent and sighed.

It was already 5 minutes to 11 when he started working on it.

He went online to search things related to the topic first, and after reading for about an hour, he left Google and started typing the report on his laptop.

His eyes went red in a matter of minutes, and after two hours of staring at the laptop screen, his eyes began bI.eeding water.

He yawned tiredly and rubbed the eyes, wiping the water before using eyeglasses.

He continued with the report and later fell asleep by 2, but he woke up by 3am and continued again.

This time, even though he was putting on a jacket, flu penetrated into his skin, and he had to sneak into a corner to generate heat before continuing.

He completed it at exactly 5am, and his eyes closed on their own immediately.

He slept off, and his head fell on his desk.
