CHAPTER 24

“Welcome to XXIV Carats miss Purple Cass” Linda said.

“It’s so sizzling and sultry in here, gosh!” She said, her mad accent sounding so posh.

“Sizzling and sultry?” Linda said, and Cypress quickly got her phone to search the meaning.

She meant it’s hot in here, so she quickly turned on the AC.

“We have a new collection of jewelries from twenty countries across the world, I’ll show you around” she said.

“I just need something garish and snazzy to give me a conspicuous look at the party tonight! I’m joining The Diamonds club so I have to be the nucleus of enthrallment yunno?” Purple Cass replied.

“Ok I give up, what the hell are you saying!” Linda shouted.

“Did you just shout at a customer?” Cypress cautioned. She was checking out each word as Purple Cass said it, so she understands.

“She meant she needs something exquisite to make her stand out and be the center of attention” she explained.

“You got me right, I’m a graduate of Harvard yunno, first class in English so it’s not easy to converse with illiterates like her” Purple Cass replied.

“What!” Linda gasped.

“Come with me, I think you’re smart enough, I need to buy something before I leave this place” Purple Cass smiled, and Cypress led her into the store, showing her the latest products.

“As usual, Cypress got the attention, that wtch! I hate her!” An attendant said.

“Fk!!” Linda shouted, rushing out in anger.

Oliver stood by the second door, watching Cypress and Purple Cass with a slow smile.

SKYLINE CORPORATIONS

Jemima, Lina and Maxwell came out of a door at once, then they began walking down the hallway that led to the hall for the meeting.

Maxwell and Jemima haven’t talked since the incident earlier.

“Told you to make sure all the directors attend this meeting” she said without looking at him.

“I did my job” he replied.

“I doubt that, you’re not that smart” she smirked, and he went silent till they got to the door of the hall.

Tatiana is waiting with her secretary too.

“Let’s see how many directors will turn up today, two? Three?” She laughed.

“Does it matter? Ion work with numbers” Jemima replied, and Tatiana smirked before stepping forward.

“The fact still remains that…i deserve this company more than you. All the directors will come running at the snap of my fingers if it was me who called this meeting” she muttered.

“That still doesn’t change the fact that I am the CEO, told you not to cross your lane, I’ll crush you” Jemima glared and entered the hall first.

Maxwell and Lina entered with her, then Tatiana.

Their eyes widened at once except Maxwell’s.

All the board of directors were already present!

Maxwell smiled, and Jemima looked at him shockingly.

He winked, and she quickly looked away.

“How did this happen?” Tatiana muttered, still in shock.

“Shall we start? CEO Jemima?” Chief Donald said, and she sighed before going to her seat.

“Secretary Maxwell, respect” Lina muttered beside him as they walked to their seats too.

Tatiana was the last to sit, all these seems like a dream.

Jemima smiled as she pronounced the start of the meeting.
