THIRTY MINUTES LATER~ SLOANE’S PLACE
Sloane came out with Miguel, ready to go drop him off in school when a taxi stopped in front of the house, and Maxwell came out.
“Mell!” Miguel shouted.
“Hey” Maxwell stroked his hair immediately he got to him.
“Maxwell” Sloane smiled, thinking he came to take her offer.
“Goodmorning, heard you went on a trip” he smiled.
“Yeah, came back just last night” she replied, and he brought out the card she gave him.
“Maxwe…
“I’m sorry, I’d have to turn down your offer” he looked up, and she smiled.
“You’re… going back to Jemima?”
He nodded, and she slowly took the card.
“There’ll always be a space for you anytime you change your mind” she said.
“Thanks, Miss Sloane”
“By the way, will you be chanced to eat dinner with me and my son tonight? You’ve always been turning us down” she smiled.
“Tonight?…. Sure” he replied, and she smiled again.
BLAZING EMOTIONS : CHAPTERS 51 – 60
8AM
Jemima is already in her car, getting driven to work by Maxwell.
He actually went to her after he left Sloane’s place.
Jemima should feel be happy right now for having him back, but strangely, she’s not feeling it… he’s still as cold as last night.
He didn’t even say a word to her when he got to her mansion, he only took the car keys and started the drive immediately.
Is he possibly mad at her? But why?
They got to the company, and they went in together amidst numerous guards as usual.
She should be nitpicking on the staffs and scrutinizing them for possible firing, but her eyes aren’t even on them.
They were on Maxwell’s cold face till they arrived at their floor, and she reluctantly entered her office.
Maxwell settled down, and the first thing he saw on her schedule is a trip. She has to go on a trip to Chantilly by 10 to sign a contract.
He immediately stood and rushed into her office.
He met her by the door , about to come out to him too .
“You have to be on the flight to Chantilly in two hours” he said.
“You’re going with me” she replied.
“I know” he said sharply and made to leave, but she pulled him back and shut the door before sighing.
“Why the cold shoulder? Did I do something wrong? I’m about to go crazy trying to figure out what exactly went wrong since last night”
He kept quiet.
“What? Why? I did nothing wrong last night so …
“Nothing wrong?” He interrupted, and she looked at him.
“What do you…
“How could you leave the house by that time to report such when you could have just called the cops to come to your place? What if it was more severe?
And why didn’t you at least fight back when he was htting you by the road? Thought you were a strong woman but what happened?
And should I talk about the camera too? You’re rich so why not have a security scanner to and scrutinize everything you get before taking them in? What if they saw your nudes for real?
What would have happened!” He said before he could hold himself back, and Jemima kept standing in front of him, not saying a word till he finally looked her way.
Immediately their eyes met, she smiled widely, and he frowned.
“Why are you smiling?”
She came closer and hugged him again just like last night.
She pushed his back to the wall and tightened the hug, so they’re both trapped.
“What are you doing?” He muttered, and she tightened her slender arms around him again, feeling much of his six packs on her soft skin.
“It’s actually cute to see you nagging and scolding me, I think I’d do more silly things from now on so I’d continue seeing this side of you” she whispered.
