?Daddy’s
Girl?

Episode 28

By: Faith Lucky.

Chloe’s pov:
It was lunch time and Anna was nowhere to be seen while Ciara had gone to meet a professor concerning some issues.

I looked around the classroom which appeared to be noisy and busy.

A large of people aren’t through with their projects yet and am quite glad Jace has been working on mine since last week.

I got up and fixed my skirt. I took a quick look at my cellphone before walking out of the class.

The hallway was busier and every student that walked by was in a haste.

“Chloe!” I heard Ivy’s voice call as she showed up.

I waited for her to be close enough.

“Oh…hey Ivy. How are you doing?” I asked perfunctorily.

She smiled wryly with her hands shaking against the books she was carrying.

“Am fine, thank you. Were you on your way to the cafeteria?” She asked counting her steps as our legs moved in unison.

I nodded abruptly.

“Am headed there to. Can I walk with you?” She asked and I smiled.

“Sure…” I breathed and we walked to the cafeteria in silence.

There weren’t much folks around and we sauntered to the counter uninterrupted.

The ladies behind the counter where willing to serve me in a special way. I took an apple while she filled my plate with hot spaghetti and meatballs.

What a scrumptious and delectable meal!

Ivy also got what she wanted and we headed for a table to stay.

“Are you done with your project?” She asked peeling the banana in her hand.

“Yeah…I am. The projects are not as difficult as it seems” I beamed with a part of me feeling lucky.

To imagine going all that stress – Running around from one library to another to get answers and help.

My father will never let that happen of course. It’s indeed torture.

Ivy didn’t say anything else and we finished our lunch in silence.

Ivy’s pov:
Being with Chloe wasn’t as scary as i thought.

I pictured her to be a more rude and picky person since she’s like the wealthiest girl in school.

I got up slowly feeling more alive than I’ve ever felt in a long period of time.

I stared down at Chloe as she emptied her bag bringing out her phone, lip gloss and some other contents that I think was worth millions.

She passed the bag to me.

“You can have it” she said emotionlessly and I gazed at her in disbelief.

“What are you waiting for? I said you can have it, it’s yours” She enthused and I took it from her astonished.

“You want me to have it?” I muttered and scoffed.
“How can you give me a bag even better than the one I tried to take from you? I…I really can’t accept this Chloe”.

She stood up holding onto her phone and other items.

“Stop being persistent. You already apologized for the incident.

“You can really have the bag. I have lots of more at home. I insist…” She said with a shrug.

Oh my God!

Am really getting the money I needed!

I was pushed to hug Chloe but I controlled the urge.

But seriously, she’s so nice!

“Thank you Chloe, you’re too kind” I stated still recovering from the shock.

“No problem dear” She cooed and waved before leaving.

I smiled staring after her. It’d be tough to see a girl that has a killer shape and luxuriant riches and still be so kind.

I noticed everyone was starting to leave the hall.

I need to go to the market side and meet the lady who promised to purchase the purse once I get it.

I badly need the money to buy certain things I need at home.

Chloe’s pov:
As I walked through the lonely hallway that led to the exit of the building, I felt often twinges at the sides of my head.

I would call it a headache but it was too profound and I could hardly understand the way it hit at me.

I need to get home and take a rest before I pass out.

I stopped for a second to catch my breath.

I felt my head spin around like a rollercoaster.

My eyes were weak and I was starting to feel more frail each passing second.

For the love of God!

What’s happening to me?

*Chloe?* I heard a faint voice call and I turned to see Jace running to me, the professor stood behind him.

My eyes welled up as they closed for good and I felt myself falling – Not on the floor but in his hands.

Jace’s pov:
I stopped her from falling and everything else in her hands fell to the floor.

What’s wrong with her?

The professor came over and picked up her belongings.

I carried her into my arms and the look on her face was that of innocence and insecurity.

She looked scared though she was asleep.

I left the building with her and we made our way to her car. Kyle stepped out immediately and we were able to get her into the backseat.

Her head was on my thigh as I tucked her hair behind her ear.

“What happened to her, Jace?” Kyle asked turning on the car but I ignored him attending to Chloe.

“She’s breathing” I breathed out and unbuttoned the first two buttons.

She shook her head a little and woke up. I stared keenly at her as she didn’t say a word or sit up as her weak eyes stared at me.

She’s in pain, I can feel it.

Something’s not right with her.
