Kian’s pov:

“Jace?” I called shockingly as I stared at my childhood friend whom I lost contact with a long time ago but he hasn’t still changed.

He’s not actually the Jace that we work together.

“Kian?” He called and spat out blood because of the cut on his lips.

“What are you doing here? What happened?” I questioned with my eyes roaming around his body.

“Well, it’s a long story. What about you? Why did you chase after me?” He asked with a creased eyebrow.

“The girl you k!dnapped, Chloe Seth is someone I don’t joke with. I’m her personal bodyguard and I’m supposed to protect her.” I scoffed.

“What? You’re Chloe’s bodyguard?” He asked bewildered.

“Yeah.” I shrugged.

“Look, we have a lot to talk about. Why you kidnapped Chloe and where exactly you were taking her to.

So many things we’ve got to talk about.” I said.
“Okay.” He said without hesitating.

I went to his car and untied Chloe and removed the gag from her mouth.

She bursted into tears and hugged me tight.

“Shhh, it’s okay.” I whispered softly.
“I was so scared Kian.” She whimpered.

“It’s okay now Chloe, I’m here.” I cooed softly and stroked her hair.

I wiped her tears and carried her up in my arms.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and placed her head on my chest.

Jace opened the front seat of Chloe’s car while I dropped her in carefully.

I closed the door and went to the driver’s seat.

I signaled for Jace to enter his own car and he did.

I drove off leading the way while Jace droved behind me.

“Do you know him?” Chloe asked as she stared at the side mirror and saw Jace car trailing behind ours.

“Yeah, he was my childhood friend but we lost contact about ten years ago. It’s the first time I’m seeing him after ten years.” I said and took a quick glance at her.

“Oh.” She mouthed and closed her eyes.

“You should get some rest already. You look tired.” I urged while she just smiled lightly.

She rested her head on the headrest pillow and then, she closed her eyes.

Only her soft breathe could be heard as she slept soundly.

I carried the sleeping Chloe gently out of the car.
Jace alighted from his car and stared around at my penthouse.

“C’mon in. Let’s go.” I urged him as he kept staring around.

He nodded and trailed behind me.

I got to my room and laid her gently on the bed.

I removed a strand of her hair that was stuck on her face. I brushed her hair gently and kssed her hair.

She smiled lightly and turned to other side of the bed.

I chuckled lightly and kssed her gently on her forehead.

I used the duvet cover to cover her body.

I took one last look at her before finally leaving the room.

“So man, tell me everything I need to know. And don’t think of lying to me.” I said and nudged on his arm playfully.

He gulped down the whiskey in his glass cup and exhaled deeply.

“I started working with the black section guys about two years ago when I couldn’t find any good job.

We are six in numbers and we are told to go on missions to kill anybody our boss tells us to.

We dress and put on face masks as the sinners gang should in case there’s a prove that someone was killed by a$$assins.

The accusations would be pointed to the sinners gang.

But I really don’t know who exactly are the sinners gang because I haven’t met any of them but the boys I work with, tells me about them.

So, recently our boss decided that we kill Chloe because of her father.

He wanted the deed to be done on his birthday.

I don’t really know what transpired between my boss and Chloe’s father, but he just ordered four of us to murder her as a gift to her father.” He stopped and sighed.

He drank a little from the whiskey and breathed out loudly.

He smacked his lips and continued.

“And so, we had to obey him as usual.

But we couldn’t just kill her because of the tight security.

And then, I danced with Chloe when no one was with her and when one of the guys switched off the lights, I took the advantage to stab her.

But boss told us that she survived and he was enraged.

And then, because I needed the huge amount of money boss promised whosoever that kills her, I decided to kidnap and kill her myself.

And that was why I had kidnapped her today.” He explained and sighed.

I exhaled deeply and just stared at him, not knowing exactly what to say.

I was tongue-tied.

“You’ve got to leave Chloe alone. And I’m the boss of the sinners gang.” I shrugged like it’s nothing.

His jaw dropped as he stared shockingly at me like I’ve just said the most impossible word.

“What? You really are the boss of the sinners gang?” He asked with his eyes almost popping out from it’s socket.

“Yes.” I shrugged and drank from his bottle of whiskey.

“Wow!” He said dazily.

“You know what Jace, I don’t joke with Chloe. Tell your boss I said he should leave Chloe alone else, I’ll send my men to kill him and chop of his head.

Tell me any amount you need or better still, the amount your boss promised to give and I’ll give it to you.

But just leave Chloe alone.” I said calmly but with all damn seriousness.

“You really would give me the money?” He asked.

“Yes, I promise and you know me, I keep to my words. And I want you to do same.” I said and drank again from the bottle of whiskey.

“Okay. I’ll think about it.”
“There’s nothing to think about. Just give me your words and tell me the amount and I’ll send it to your account immediately.” I said and smirked.

“Oh! okay. I give you my word.”

I smiled and patted his shoulder.

Jace informed me that his so called boss said he wouldn’t let go of Chloe until he kills her.

I didn’t believe him at first until his fcking boss called me on phone and talked sh!ts.

He even had the guts to threaten me.

I payed Jace the supposed money and I even added to it. He promised that he was gonna start up something with it.

But I told him to leave the country so his boss would not send his other men after his life because, he already denounced them.

We exchanged new contact and all, and I paid for his Visa.

He left the country three days later but we still kept in touch with each other.

I sent Jace and Kyle to kill the boss of the black section gang and burn down their abode when I saw that the boss was adamant to leave Chloe alone.

And they did just that. And his boys were killed too.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Chloe’s pov:
We wrote our semester’s test and we’d be writing our exams very soon.

Kian and I have become more closer to each other and sometimes, I spend the weekend at his penthouse.

We’ve become so close to each other that we hug and share pecks almost all the time.

Kyle had asked me to tell him more about Ivy and I gladly told him.

Just three days later, I saw Kyle and Ivy talking and Ivy was smiling and blushing hard.

And just a week later, they’ve become friends and sometimes when Kian drives me home, they both hang out together.

I’m happy for them and I can’t wait for them date: they’ll really make a cute and happy couple.

“So princess, how are you faring at school?” Dad asked as we both sat on the couch watching a comedy show.

“Fine dad. But some of the lecturers are stressing me out with their unending practicals and assignments.” I shrugged and focused back on the plasma television.

“Don’t worry princess, you’ll soon be done with school anyways and you just have to work harder so you can graduate with good grades.” Dad advised with a smile.

“Sure thing dad.” I smiled back at him.

Dad phone rang and he took his phone from the center table and swiped the receive icon.

“Hello doctor Wilfred.” Dad said and gave me an apologetical look.

I shrugged and nodded my head understandably.

I focused back on the television but my attention was still on dad’s call.

“Really doc? Yes… Okay.” Dad spoke elatedly over the phone.

“Okay doc, thank you.” He smiled. He dropped his phone and I turned to look at him.

“What’s the smile all about dad?” I asked.

He smiled and moved closer to me.

“Well, doctor Wilfred has been working on your health issue.

He said there’s a cure for it.” He smiled and looked at me.

“There’s a cure?” I asked doubtfully.

“Yes. It’s a bone marrow transplant and he needed a match for you and now, he already did.

You’d be going for a bone marrow transplant.” Dad said.

“What?”
“A bone marrow transplant? A transplant that it’s so risky and the patient gets to be in between life and death?

Seriously dad.” I scoffed and stood up angrily.

“I know princess but that’s the only hope you have. Please try and understand me.” Dad begged.

“What if I die in the process dad?”
