CHAPTER 42
Axel suddenly hugged her from behind and her heart started beating fast.
“Does your stomach still hurt?” He asked softly.
“Huh?”
He turned her to him and he swore to himself that he got lost in her cute eyes for a while.
“Your stomach, does it still hurt?” He repeated.
“You’re not mad at me?” She asked slowly.
Axel smiled and carried her, making her sit on the counter. His hand went inside her top and started massaging her stomach gently.
“It helps to relieve the pain,” he said.
His hand on her stomach, sent butterflies to the pit of Melanie’s stomach.
She suddenly held his hand that was massaging her stomach and Axel stared at her.
“Are you mad at me?” She asked again.
“I’m still mad, but not anymore” his eyes flickered to her lips.
He raised his hand and touched them softly, using his thumb to caress the lower lip.
Melanie’s breath seized up in her throat as his thumb kept moving on her lips.
“The kiss… Can I return it now?” He asked, looking fixedly at her lips.
“I don’t want to be a debtor” he added, staring into her eyes this time around.
“I want to return what I borrowed,” he murmured softly.
His hand went to her waist, gripping it tight as he smashed his lips on hers, kssing her deeply.
Melanie gasped into his mouth, he used that as an opportunity and shoved his tongue into her mouth, exploring the sweet taste of her mouth.

MONASH UNIVERSITY***
Julie ran to the restroom, going into one of the stalls and locking the door inside.
She stared at herself in the mirror and quickly cleaned her face with her palms.
Her mind went back to the scene when Axel hugged Melanie from the back, the scene of him carrying her in his arms.
She shut her eyes tightly before opening it back, she released a low groan.
“It’s not what you think, Julie. There’s nothing going on between them” she sighed and rested her back on the door.
“Axel can never date her, he can’t,” she shook her head.
Her phone rang in her back pocket, she brought it out to find Lauren calling her.
“Hey,” she muttered after picking the call.
“Are you okay? Why did you run off that way?” Lauren questioned.
“I suddenly had to use the restroom,” Julie said slowly.
“Where are you? The restroom, right?” Lauren asked.
“Yea…”
“Okay, I’ll be there”
“You don…” The call was already disconnected before Julie could finish her words.
Her hand dropped to her thighs and she released a sigh again. She walked to the mirror and stared at herself for the last time.
She forced a smile out of her lips and walked out of the restroom.
She got outside and met Lauren waiting.
“So fast?” Julie chuckled.
“Yea, I was really worried. Melanie left without a word and you too…” Lauren mumbled.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” She asked, staring intently at Julie.
“Yea, why?” Julie smiled awkwardly and started walking away.
“Nothing,” Lauren said, walking after her.
“Do you know if Melanie is fine? I’ve tried calling her but her number is not going through” Lauren muttered worriedly.
