CHAPTER 57

“Do you think Axel likes you?” Lauren asked after Melanie was done explaining.

“I mean, asking you for a bet. Doesn’t that show he’s asking you out indirectly, right Julie?” She faced Julie.

“Axel doesn’t date. He has an ulterior motive, how can he suddenly ask you that when he has no feelings for you?”

“How could you say that? You need to see it the way he helped Lanie when her clothes got stained, he cares about her. He…”

“Axel doesn’t like you or anything, Melanie. He’s not different from Ace, he just wants to use you and then dump you!” Julie said harshly.

“What?” That was from Melanie.

“Julie, how could you utter such words from your mouth?” Lauren scolded, staring at her in surprise.

“If you love yourself, stay away from him” Julie muttered and stood up, then she left.

Lauren looked at Melanie.

“Lanie, you don’t need to think much. You should know Axel can’t do that, people do change, don’t they?” Lauren said.

Melanie shook her head.

“No. Julie is right, he’s no different from Ace. Kylie said that he’s a playboy.

He definitely has something under his sleeves that’s why he keeps coming closer to me,” she bit her lips.

“Lauren,” she stared up at her.

“But, why does it hurt just by thinking of it? My heart’s,” Melanie sniffed.

“Must I always get fooled just because I’m soft?”

“Lanie,” Lauren called softly.

“C’mon,” she pulled her to her shoulder and began rocking her like a baby.

“People do change and I’m sure Axel is never gonna play you. I mean, I don’t know him but with the little I’ve seen about him, he isn’t a bad person after all,” Lauren assured.

“And if he ever tried anything with you, I’ll break his head and the thing between his legs,” Julie gritted.

Melanie chuckled and hugged her to herself by placing her hand around her waist.

“I mean my word, Lanie. I don’t joke when it comes to you, you mean a lot to me, swears” Lauren murmured

“I love you, Lauren,” Melanie smiled.

“I love you more, Lanie… My best friend,” Lauren grinned.

Ace walked dejectedly to their suite. Melanie never showed up even after he waited for hours.

He entered the house to find only Axel present. He sat opposite him and shut his eyes with a groan.

“Are you okay?” Axel asked.

“She’s mad at me. I really don’t know what to do just for her to forgive me, I’ve tried my best but it’s all futile. She doesn’t even want to see me anymore,” Ace said bitterly.

No one needed to tell Axel he was talking about Melanie.

“I really don’t know what to do,” Ace said.

Axel suddenly felt guilty. He couldn’t believe he was falling for the girl his friend loves. His ex-girlfriend.

“Can you help me?” Ace suddenly asked.

“Huh?”

“You stay together, can you help me talk to her? You can, right?”

Axel stared at him.

MELANIE’S APARTMENT, 8PM***

“You don’t sound too good, are you okay?” Aaron asked Axel over the phone.

“I guess not. I just feel tired. Are the guys with you?” Axel asked..

“Yes, they’re in their rooms. I just called to check up on you” Aaron said.

Axel smiled lightly.

“Thanks buddy,”

They talked for a while till Axel ended the call. He stood up and was walking to the kitchen to get himself a bottle of beer when he saw the door opening.

His eyes grew wide in surprise, seeing Ariel with a big traveling bag with her.

“What are you doing here? How did you get in?” He questioned, staring at her in disgust and anger.

“The door was opened so I came in. Besides, I’m your fiance so there’s nothing wrong in me coming to your house” Ariel shrugged.

“Fiancee??” Melanie asked as she came out of her room.

Axel quickly turned.

“Mel…”

“Yes, I am. And I’m here to stay since he refuses to come home” Ariel declared.

“As you can see, I’m here with my luggages, which means I’m here to stay and nothing else,” Ariel grinned, staring at Melanie.

“What?” Melanie stared at Axel.

He has a fiancee? Like, they’re getting married??
