Anamika watched them with a smile. ‘the bond of a mother and child is unique. I hope you get back your son soon Valerie.’ She said inwardly as she watched them with a smile.

Valerie broke the hug, cleaning his tear with her thumb. “Don’t cry dear, big boys don’t shed tears. Okay?” She said, ruffling his hair and Leo hiccupped trying to stop crying.

“That’s the spirit.” She said.

“Now will you eat?” She asked him and he nodded.

“Good boy.” She said.

“Jane, the food.” She said and Jane handed her the food which was rice and stewed beef with scallop eggs.

“Does Leo eat scallop eggs??” She asked and Jane nodded.

“Yes, it’s his favorite.” She said and Valerie nodded.

“Alright.” Valerie said and her eyes went to Anamika.

“Please take my mom to her room.” Valerie said and Anamika sighed.

“Finally, I’m noticed.” Anamika said and Jane chuckled.

“This way ma’am.” Jane said and led the way.

Valerie sat beside Leo and began feeding him the food, without eating from it.

Leo noticed it.

When Valerie gave him a spoon again, he refused to take, instead he turned the spoon to her.

“Here.” He said and Valerie smiled eating the food.

He smiled as well.

He suddenly picked one of the scallops from the tray and gave Valerie but Valerie hesitated in taking it.

He pouted sadly and she feigned a smile before collecting it and eating.

She fed him back, and that was how they did till the food got finish. Valerie consumed three scallop eggs, when she is allergic to it.

“Thanks for the food aunt Valerie.” Leo said to her and she sneezed.

Her skin were slowly turning pale and she was beginning to feel weak. Sweat formed beads on her forehead.

She touched her throat, she was already feeling uneasy.

“Aunt Valerie, are you okay?” Leo asked worriedly.

“I’m… Fine.” She managed to say, standing on her feet with the empty tray in her hand.

She kept rubbing her neck as she sneezed continuously. Her breath was slowly hitching and she was beginning to feel dizzy.

She staggered when she made to walk and that got Leo alert.

“Aunt Valerie!” He called, rushing to hold her.

“I’m fine Leo.” She said but she was clear unsteady.

She tightened her eyes and opened it.

“I’m fine now.” She said.

Jane rushed down that minute and she gasped seeing her situation.

“Ma’am, you’re sweating profusely. What’s wrong?” Jane asked worriedly.

“Jane please… help me… look for my… EpiPen.” She said slowly.

“What! Allergy attack?!” Jane raised an alarm.

“My room please.” Valerie tapped her continuously and Jane nodded, rushing upstairs.

She took the stairs as well, to her room. She met Jane already rummaging the room.

“I can’t find it.” Jane said.

Valerie closed the door and immediately she began looking for her EpiPen.

Her immune was slowly giving away and her head felt heavy on her head as she searched the room.

She was searching profusely right now.

“Where is it? Where is it??” She muttered, breathing heavily as she rummaged the room.

“Damnit!” She cussed and staggered her way out of the room.

“Miss!” Jane called rushing after her.

“Ah!” She whimpered.

She breath was slowly leaving her, her skin had turn pale white. Her knees wobbled and she found herself, falling to the ground.

“Valerie!!!”
