DOWNTOWN, COTTAGE*
Twilight got out of the taxi and payed from her purse, thanking the man before facing the cottage.
She couldn’t get a taxi on the hill, so she had to do the over thirty minutes walk downhill before she could get one, her legs hurt.
She pushed the cottage door open, and she immediately detected that her father isn’t in.
If he was in, she’d have heard him pounding herbs or cooking. Greg loves cooking.
The house smells like home, and she was inhaling as she got her phone and dialled Greg’s line.
“Papa?” She sounded when he picked.
“How’re you doing, daughter?” Greg’s voice came.
“I’m at the cottage, where are you? We really need to talk” she said, opening the door to her room and entering.
She fell on her bed and shut her eyes. She misses it so much, mainly because her bed in school is not as soft as this, and also because it’s homey.
“I’m out of town currently, I’m working on a loan to settle your mother’s hospital bills for this month, and I won’t be back till tomorrow night” Greg replied.
“Another loan?” Twilight immediately sat up.
“I have no choice. My medicine isn’t selling as it used to, and I have to take care of Owen one way or the other” Greg replied.
“I promise to graduate university with good grades papa. You know my school is different from normal school, right? Every course takes two years, so just give me two years and I’ll go to the city and get a good paying job to repay your loans and take care of you and mama” she said, and she could hear him smile.
“I trust you, just stay good” he said.
“I will, but we still need to talk. I’ll have to come back next week” she replied, standing from the bed
She went to her bookshelf and kissed it before exiting the room.
“Sure, I’ll see you next week” Greg replied.
“Bye papa” she smiled and hung up.
She left the cottage before pocketing her phone, and while doing that, get hand touched a contact card… The one Grandpa Cedric gave her.
She brought it out, and immediately she saw his estate address written on it, she didn’t think twice.
She flagged down a taxi.
After the taxi drove off, Greg came out of his hiding place beside the cottage.
He entered the cottage like nothing happened.

GRANDPA CEDRIC’S ESTATE*
Twilight wasn’t expecting less since Echo described him as the grandpa to the richest family in this town.
The estate reeks of old money and generational riches, and the smell of maple trees made Twilight even swoon more.
She’s in love!
She almost fell as she struggled to take everything in, and when she got to the gate, the doorman willingly opened the gate for her.
“I’m…
“Twilight Kent. Grandpa Cedric told us about you since long ago, and he said to let you in anytime you come to visit” the kind man said.
“Oh…” Twilight smiled and went in with ease.
She couldn’t look down at all as she wowed at the beautiful environment.
It was breathtaking, and the guards are another level.
“Miss Twilight? Please follow me” one of them told her, and she followed fast.
She was led to the main house, and she took each step cautiously in the crystal-clean living room till they entered the dinning room where Grandpa Cedric is drinking tea alone.
“Look who’s here! I never knew you’d come this soon” He stood with a radiant smile.
“Good evening sir” she bowed respectfully, and the old man gave her a pure hug which made her smile again.
“Your estate is beautiful” she said.
“Thank you, but my son’s island is more beautiful. I’ll take you to the island one of these days ” he chuckled, and Twilight couldn’t stop her smile again.
“The maids will soon be done with dinner, and my grandson is even here with his friend. We can have dinner together later” he said.
“Your grandson?” She blinked.
“Yes, but for now, I’ll tell a maid to take you around” he smiled, and she dropped her bag on the table, determined to forget about her worries and just have fun today.
A maid led her out of the dinning, and almost immediately, her phone dinged in her bag.
It’s a text from Tamlin.
Tamlin: I got stabbed by Slade’s sister, thrice.
When he didn’t get any reply, he sent another one almost immediately.
Tamlin: Come see me, I want to see your face so bad.
Tamlin: Why aren’t you replying?
Tamlin: I’m in pains.
Tamlin: I miss you.
Tamlin: *crying emoji*
