Chapter 6

“Welcome Mr Dalton”John greeted as he went to welcome Gerald into the room.

Arabella moved away from them and while the two men greeted each other. She pulled off the band on her hair. Freeing the curls and also scattering them a bit so they would cover most of her face.

She is wearing a lot of make up and if Gerald assess her closely. He will get to know who she is.

“What are you doing?”Nina whispered to at her.

“Hiding my face”Arabella whispered back.

“He might still recognise you. So it’s best that you give it up and…….”

“Stop it! I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t lured me here”Arabella whispered.

“I didn’t know that he invited Gerald over. I would never have brought you here if I did” Nina whispered back and unknown to the two of them. Gerald and John were watching them.

It wasn’t until John coughed out loudly that they stopped talking.

“Hello sir. Am Nina Mayer. Arabella Blake manager”Nina said introducing herself.

“Nice meeting you”Gerald replied with all curtsey.

All eyes turned to her. She was still standing at the same spot wondering if she should just leave or if she should stay.

“Don’t I get an introduction?” Gerald Dalton asked and she forced herself to stop being nervous.

Act natural. For now you are Ara the model and singer. She thought as she drew in a deep breath before walking towards them.

“Of course you deserve an introduction”She said as she avoided eye contact with him.

“Am Ara Blake. Nice meeting you Mr Dalton”She said stretching fourth her hand to him.

As soon as he held her hand. She pulled away. Quickly moving towards the sofa to start the disscussion.

“I will leave you all now”Nina said excusing herself.

“Can’t my manager stay”Arabella said quickly wanting Nina to be with her. After all she brought her here and so she must also suffer this nervousness with her.

“This has to do with the company and you. It’s a private affair which consist of the three of us alone. I also didn’t bring anyone with me”Gerald replied.

“Hear that Ara? I will take my leave now” Nina said. Quickly escaping from the room.

“So now let’s get down to business” John said while Gerald brought out the file he had with him.

A while later Arabella was still the room watching the two men negotiate while she wondered when they would finish.

She kept on starring at her watch and also at the door while she waited for the two men to do their thing.

“Is everything okay Miss Ara?”Gerald was the one who asked.

“It is. Everything is perfect.”She assured quickly.

“Then if you agree to the things Mr Gerald said here. You can sign these papers and…..”

“Give it to me!”She yelled out as she took the papers from Gerald while she signed her signature.

“That’s all I have to do right? Well then goodbye and….. ”

“Now hold on a second Arabella” John said and she stopped to stare at them again.

“I was hoping that we could all have lunch together and…..”

“I don’t eat lunch”She said giving an excuse.

“Since when?”John asked.

“Since….uh…uh… Since yesterday. I started dieting yesterday. So you see am going to have to skip lunch”She offered.

“Then what about dinner. I can just move it to…..”

“Don’t! Don’t do that John”She said interrupting him.

“Why? “John asked.

“Am also dieting during then too”Arabella said.

“Really? So when don’t you diet?”John asked.

“In the morning. I only eat in the morning. Am really sorry that I have to decline lunch and dinner. I hope that next time. We will be able to have breakfasts together.

Since there is nothing more to talk about. I will take my leave then”She said as she quickly walked out of John office.

“What the h’ll is wrong with her?”John muttered as he stared at the door way.

“Is she always like that?”Gerald asked having heard John muttering.

“I can assure you that Arabella is one hundred percent okay. She is just getting all edgy because her vacation was ruined” John said.

“Is that so?”Gerald asked as he thought about the things he noticed earlier.

She had the same eyes like someone he knew. She had been absent minded during the meeting and something else he noticed was her massaging her elbow.

She must have been injured there. He thought as he listened to John closure on the contract.

Did he make the right choice by choosing Ara as the face of the new product they are launching because there is something definitely odd about her? .

“You left! You really are a traitor”Arabella said. Talking to Nina on the phone while she took the elevator downstairs.

“I knew you would be freaking angry at me and knowing how you get when you are angry. I decided to come home and…..”

“Do you think I can’t come to your home?”She asked cutting Nina off.

“You better don’t! There are a lot of your fans at my front door. I will let them know you are coming and you….”
