The Emperor made his anger visible and Shanghai smiled, while Jurin held her robe tight, then Shanghai faced her, his smile still so fresh on his face.
“Are you sure you still want to go back? He doesn’t seem to want you anymore”. Shanghai said and the Emperor frowned in confusion, as he glanced at Jurin who looked away from him.
“Is she really Jade?”. Emperor Damien asked his gaze not to leave Jurin for a split second.
“Yes…and No. She’s my daughter Jurin–
“You had a daughter?”. The Emperor asked in puzzlement not getting anything and Shanghai nodded.
“Yes, I have a daughter. A bright, smart and fearless daughter who went against our rules in the heavens and got expelled to the lower realm. Your realm Damien”. Shanghai said and the Emperor’s gaze on Jurin widened.
“The daughter you expelled, became Jade in the tenth province?!”. Emperor Damien asked.
“Cause i wanted her to. She was all proud and dominant about her powers so I made her the opposite of who she was. I transformed her into the dumb, carefree Jade she was—
“Nonsense. Shanghai I came here for Jade, go bring her out right now!!!”. The Emperor shouted.
“My father’s right. I am J–
“Shut up”. The Emperor cut Jurin off and she kept quiet as the Emperor’s glare met her.
“You sound nothing like her. You might have her face but you’re not her!!”. Emperor Damien said, staring at Jurin hatefully.
“She’s the lower version of me Damien! Of course I’m her!!—
“I told you to keep shut, didn’t I?! Do you and father over here take lives in the lower realms as a joke!! You both think cause you’re gods you can do whatever you please!!!”. The Emperor yelled, facing Shanghai angrily.
“Damien–
“Expelling your daughter into my world and making me fall in love with her only for you to tell me she’s someone else?! You want a war right?!”. The Emperor threatened and a tear fell from Jurin’s eyes.
“A war Damien? Because of a lady—
“No because you broke the rules of life!!! The rule of the heavens!!! And the rule of the tenth realm! You should have just killed her if she offended you all, while sending her to reflect on herself in the lower realms?!! What privilege does she have over every sinner!!
Is that how you send other gods who commit an offense to the lower realm also?! No right?! But because she’s your daughter the rules had to change!!—-
“Damien!!!!
“Bring Jade back or we’ll really settle this with a battle. The heavens deserve a better god and I don’t mind replacing you”. Emperor Damien threatened darkly and with a final glare on dazed Shanghai, he turned to leave but Jurin held his hand and he turned to give a cold look.
“I-i want to come with you–
“Aren’t you dead? Didn’t your own father kill you in front of everyone? Is there a way you can go back?”.
The Emperor asked in a ruthless scoff and Jurin gulped down as more tears fell from her eyes.
“Jade’s the one I killed, not Jurin. I needed her here to take over from me–
“And you can have her. But be sure to send Jade back”. The Emperor cut Shanghai off.
“I told you she’s me. Why are you being so cold?”. Jurin asked but with no reply the Emperor turned his back on her and left.
“Can’t believe he threatened me with a war. I really underestimated him and Damon”. Lord Shanghai scoffed in rage as he paced round his throne.
Jurin stopped crying as she wiped her tears with the back of her palms, then she faced her father.
“Goodbye”. She said and turned to leave.
“Whatever. Just prove to that stubborn Emperor you’re Jade and make him forget his intentions about weighing a war against us, unless he wants the whole universe to be destroyed!!”.
Shanghai said sternly and Jurin said nothing as she began walking out of the large court.
