EMILY POV
Fully dressed for the party,I stood in front of the mirror Starring at my self.
I looked like a goddess and some how,I also looked like a diva but that wasn’t my problem, I was still feeling strange about the party.
I still don’t know what is In store and that makes me feel worried
Just then the door opened and Max walked into the room,looking smart in a white tuxedo.
“Are you ready for the party?”he asked
“Yes”I replied and he stretched forth his hand,I took his hand and together we went off.
The party was in full swing when we got there, we were the centre of attraction and Cade introduce me to a lot of guest.
People from the company, people we knew from town and some of his friends
While Cade mother and father mingled amongst the guest, Cade and I went to dance.
“You can stop this dance by saying you have an head ache, it’s not a must that you dance with me”he said
“Stop talking and just dance”I said softly and pulled him close.
If this will be my last time here, I better enjoy Cade company,I thought as I danced in his arms.
When the dance was over, Cade went off with some of the company workers and I was heading to the rest room when I met Cade mother on the way.
“You still remember the plan right?”she asked giving me a huge smile
“Yes I do”I replied back
“Remember! No mistake okay!”She said and walked off.
I went into the rest room feeling a bit weird, why do I feel strange about this, why do I feel like some thing will happen.
I had had a dream of Cade dying but it should just be a dream right? I thought
“It’s only a dream,Cade will never die”I muttered softly.

CADE POV
I went around looking for Emily! Where could she be? I thought as I began to head into the house
I met my mom on the way, she is the last person,I want to see right now,I thought as I walked towards her.
“Are you perhaps looking for your wife?”she asked
“Why do you ask?”
“It’s because I saw her heading to the rest room”she said
“Fine then,I will go to her?”I said
“Do you really love her that much?”she asked and that stopped me
“Why do you suddenly ask that?”I asked
“An just wondering how you will feel when you don’t get to see her again”she said
“What do you mean by that?”I asked walking towards her
“Am just wondering how you will feel when you don’t get to see her again”she said
“What are you trying to say mom?”
“Nothing! You say you love her but am wondering how you will feel when you don’t get to see her again”she said and walked off.
Quickly I went to the rest room and not caring if there were other female there,I went in and saw Emily getting out of the toilet.
“What are you doing here Cade!” She asked and quickly I walked towards her and hug her tightly
“From now on, stick to me always, don’t you dare go off on your own”he said as he held me tight.
“But Cade…….”
“Just listen to me this once okay, at least until I do what I want to do tonight”I said holding both her cheeks.
“Fine,I will do as you say”she said

EMILY POV
I stood out side with Cade and every one else,it was time for the fire works and soon I will be leaving.
I don’t know why he behaved that way earlier but it must be because he is worried about me,I thought.
The fire work began and every one focused on it.
Through the crowd I saw a man approached Cade and I and he drew Cade away also taking Cade attention too.
I stood still,contemplating if I should leave it not, some how my eyes caught with Cade mother.
“Go”she mouthed at me and quickly I left the crowd and head to the Field where the Mark will be waiting for me.
It was quite silent and no one was there waiting, where could he be? I thought as I looked around.
“Emily!”I turned on hearing Cade call
“Why are you here and not at the party”He said walking towards me
“I just came to………..”I couldn’t complete my words because we heard a gun shot.
It was fired at us but some how it missed, quickly Cade ran towards me and held me and used his body to cover me and then there was another gun shot.
Some where along the distance I could hear people screaming and maybe the shooter might have heard it too because there was no gun shot.
“Are you okay?”Cade asked me and I nodded softly
“What about you?”I asked and he nodded too
“Let’s get out of here”he said.
I put my arms around him and began to walk off but then I stopped when I felt some thing on my hand.
I looked at my hand only to see bl.ood on it.
“Cade!”I called softly and he looked at me looking pale.
“Cade you have been shot!”I yelled and he fell on the floor.
“Cade! Cade! Cade!”I called as I stared at him
“Some one please help us! Help us!”I yelled.
“You don’t……have to call any one”Cade said softly
“But I have to, you have been shot!”I said crying
“This is ……is what I deserve for….what I did to you…..I wanted to give …..to give you the peace you asked for…..I wanted to get the punishment I deserve by going to do jail…..but it seems like I can’t do that now….”
“Don’t say that! Don’t say that Cade! Some one help me! “I yelled again but he held my hand and I stared at him
“Don’t!….am….am going to die any way….but before I do that…..I want to tell you that am …..am very sorry for what happened…..If I could turn back time…..I will Emily”he whispered lightly
“Stop talking Cade,you are losing your strength, hang on for me okay! Just hang on”I said crying
“You know I can’t do that…..we both know that this is the end….it’s what I deserve”he said looking very pale
“No Cade! It’s not what you deserve! You won’t die okay!I don’t want you to die!”I cried out
“I….I love you Emily, I love you so much!”he said closed his eyes
“No Cade! No you can’t die! You just can’t!”I yelled out.
“What happen? What happen?”Denise asked as she ran towards us.
“He was shot! Please save him”I said
“Call for help”she yelled at the guest who stood looking
“That won’t do, we need to do some thing fast, he won’t make it if we don’t?”David said as he walked towards us
“Are you a doctor or what?”Denise yelled at him
“Am not a doctor but before the ambulance makes it here, Cade won’t make it”he replied
“Some help me with him”He said and two men walked towards us and they helped put Cade on David back.
On seeing his bl.oody suit,I gasp out in shock, the dream I had was a premonition,it was telling me that some thing will happen but I paid no heed to it,this is all my fault, if some thing bad should happen to Cade then yes all my fault.
He was taken to our room and with the help of David and two men, they pulled off his suit
“We will have to get the bullet out, every one should leave except the two men helping me”David said .
“Are you crazy! Do you think I will put my son safety in your hands, what do you even know?” Denise asked
“It’s either you let me do this or Cade dies”David said
“Denise just let him do it? “I said pulling her hand but she pulled away
“Let go of me, this is all your fault,Cade getting hurt is all your fault!”she yelled at me
“It’s not…….”
“If some thing should happen to Cade,I will make you regret it,I swear!”she yelled at me
“You shouldn’t be blaming Emily, you saw that the gun was shot at the both of them”David said
“Shut up and mind your business!”she yelled at him
“This won’t do, the more time we waste, Cade life will be in danger, so just stop acting this way and leave the room”David yelled at Denise and having no choice she left the room.
“Aren’t you going to leave too?”he asked me
“Please do all you can to save him,please David!”I said before leaving the room.
