Everything was set for the welcome home party. It looked lavish, and Adriana’s outfit cost a fortune. She looked beautiful in her makeup, her dress sweeping the ground as she walked.
Everyone was welcoming her home, and Julio introduced her to his business partners. However, Adriana’s focus was on seeing Richard.
“Isn’t Richard coming? You already announced that I am your long-lost daughter, and the party is almost over, yet he’s not here,” Adriana said to Julio.
Julio was about to answer when he spotted Richard with Kristin, who was dressed like the wife of a billionaire.
“Oh, here he comes!” Julio smiled, pointing in Richard’s direction.
Adriana smiled, but her smile faded when she saw the woman holding Richard’s hand. She didn’t need anyone to tell her it was Kristin—Richard’s wife.
“Good evening, Dad.”
“Evening, son. I’m glad you could make it,” Julio said. Richard nodded while Kristin gave Julio a warm hug.
“Adriana, you’ve been waiting for Richard. Aren’t you going to say something?” Julio asked.
Adriana’s eyes, which had been boring into Kristin, shifted to Richard.
“I’m glad you could make it, brother,” Adriana said, hugging him. Kristin was not pleased with the way Adriana hugged Richard but kept her cool.
“It’s nothing,” Richard said, gently pushing her away.
“So, she is Kristin?”
“Yes, I am. Nice to meet you, Adriana,” Kristin said, and Adriana faked a smile.
She felt a growing hatred for Kristin because she was married to Richard.
“How about we bond as sisters?” Adriana asked, throwing an innocent smile at Kristin.
“Sure, if you want.”
Adriana took Kristin’s hand, and they went to the pool area, while Richard settled in with Julio. Ophelia was unhappy to see Adriana with Kristin.
“So, how long have you and Richard been married?” Adriana asked.
“Five months.”
“Five months, I see. That’s nice,” Adriana said, though her smile did not reflect her true feelings.
“Does he love you?”
Kristin wondered why Adriana was asking about her relationship with Richard instead of bonding like sisters, but she answered her questions.
“Yes, he loves me a lot. He is the best husband and only looks at me, not any other woman,” Kristin said, fueling Adriana’s hatred further.
Adriana burned with anger but pretended to be okay with it.
“Nice. You’re lucky, Kristin,” she faked a smile.
“Thanks,” Kristin smiled.
As Kristin looked around, Adriana’s eyes were fixed on her, her hatred evident.
Kristin stood close to the pool, so Adriana pretended to trip and intentionally pushed Kristin.
Kristin fell into the pool. She had a trauma with pools; she only stands near them but never goes in. Due to her childhood trauma, she began struggling to breathe and called out for help.
“Help!” she cried out as the water choked and swallowed her.
Adriana folded her arms, watching Kristin struggle to breathe in the pool with a devilish smile on her face.
