Adriana exhaled and was about to return to her room when Ophelia grabbed her hand.
“I thought I told you to be Richard’s enemy!”
Adriana yanked her hand away. “You don’t get to tell me what to do,” she snapped and stormed upstairs, leaving Ophelia speechless.
In her room, Adriana made a phone call. “Have they made you their heiress yet?” the voice asked.
“Not yet.”
“What are you waiting for?”
“It’s not as easy as you think, and Ophelia is getting on my nerves. Even though she raised me until I was ten, I can’t stand her.”
“Why?”
Adriana thought of Richard and sighed. “You don’t need to know.”
“Then stick to the plan and stop sulking,” the voice commanded before hanging up.
Adriana threw her phone on the bed. “I wish Kristin had died instead. What can I do to make her disappear?” she muttered to herself.

Richard knocked on Kristin’s door, begging her to open it, but she ignored him. The funeral had ended, and she had locked herself inside the room.
Romina was comforting Gladys and taking care of Kathryn.
“Please, Forevermore, open the door and eat something,” Richard pleaded from outside, but Kristin remained inside, crying silently.
It was hard for her to accept her father’s death. It hurt more than it did her mother.
“Forevermore,” Richard called again, his face laced with sadness. For a month now, Kristin had done nothing but cry, and he missed her smile.
“Give her some time, Richard,” Julio said when he noticed Richard wasn’t giving up.
“That’s what everyone keeps saying, but I can’t just sit back and relax while the woman I love so much is in pain,” Richard replied.
“It’s natural for her to grieve, Richard. Sometimes people need space to process their loss. That’s what Kristin needs. She’ll come around soon,” Julio reassured him.
Richard exhaled sadly.
Later that night, after Julio had left, Richard knocked on Kristin’s door again, but as usual, she didn’t respond.
Kathryn was with Gladys, so Richard had no distractions from his worry. But just as he was about to leave the doorstep, a loud scream came from inside the room, stopping him in his tracks.
“Forevermore?” His eyes widened in fear. He quickly fetched the spare key to the room. He hadn’t used it earlier because he wanted Kristin to open the door willingly.
Unlocking the door, Richard rushed in. Not seeing Kristin in the room, he hurried to the bathroom.
She was unconscious on the floor, blood staining her thighs. It was coming from her vagina.
“Forevermore!” His voice broke with fear as he quickly scooped her up and rushed her to the hospital, where she was immediately attended to by a doctor.
“What’s happening to my wife? Why was she bleeding?” Richard asked, panic in his voice, as he held unto Kristin who was still unconscious.
“She almost lost the baby, Mr. Richard,” the doctor replied.
“Baby?” Richard asked, confused.
“Your wife is pregnant,” the doctor announced.
