“Kristin got pregnant after a one-night stand with a man on the night of her freshman party at her new college in the Philippines. She is now a single mom with a six-year-old daughter,” Parker revealed.
Ophelia chortled at Parker’s words, unable to believe that Kristin is a single mother.
“Are you serious? Kristin is a single mother?” Ophelia asked skeptically.
“Yes, she is. Here’s proof that she has a daughter who is six years old.” Parker handed her a document.
Without hesitation, Ophelia took the document and began to review it, a creepy smile spreading across her face.
“This is her daughter?” Ophelia asked, pulling out a picture of a cute little girl from the envelope.
“Yes. Her name is Kathryn Santiago, but for now, she is not in Glenwood with Kristin’s parents.”
“Then where is she?” Ophelia inquired.
“According to my research, she is staying with Kristin’s best friend in Singapore. Her best friend’s name is Romina, and she works as a nurse there while taking care of Kristin’s daughter,” Parker explained.
“This is still unbelievable. I always thought Kristin was a virgin, given how she presents herself, but she’s actually a single mother?” Ophelia said, shaking her head.
“From my inquiries with the farmers in Glenwood, Kristin’s mother was disappointed when she got pregnant, but eventually accepted her back. That was seven years ago. Most people have forgotten that Kristin dropped out of college because of her pregnancy.”
“What about the man who got her pregnant?”
“Her mother was so disappointed because Kristin couldn’t remember the man she was with; she was too drunk to recall.”
“So she had her child out of wedlock?”
“Yes, I suppose so.”
Ophelia chuckled and sat on the hospital bed, her eyes fixed on the picture of Kristin’s daughter.
“Now that you know Kristin’s secret, what’s your next move?” Parker asked.
“Use it against her…” Ophelia paused, then continued, “I’ll reveal her secret at the right time. She should watch out for what’s coming.” Ophelia smirked.

Natalie sat in a chair, watching Lewis, who was still unconscious. Although he wasn’t in critical condition, the doctor said it would take time for him to wake up.
“I should be sad seeing you like this, but why am I not shaken by your condition? Maybe you deserve it for everything you’ve put me through,” Natalie muttered to herself.
A knock came at the door, and after she granted permission, Luke entered the room.
A smile formed on her face when she saw Luke.
“Luke? What brings you here?” she asked, smiling. Luke, known for his charming smile, reciprocated, revealing his deep, captivating dimples.
“I came to see how he’s doing. Richard sent me.”
“Oh, I see,” she replied with a smile.
“Aren’t you going to ask what happened to your husband?”
“Surprisingly, I’m not curious. If Richard did this to him, he must have done something to provoke Richard’s anger.”
“How is he?”
“He’s out of danger but hasn’t woken up yet. He’s fine if that’s what you want to hear.”
“That’s good to know. I’ll take my leave now,” Luke said, making to leave, but Natalie called him back.
“Luke.”
He turned back, facing her.
“Need anything?” he asked with a smile. Despite his issues with Cecelia, he always maintained his cheerful demeanor.
Natalie shook her head and wheeled her chair closer to him.
“I just want to thank you.”
“For what?”
“You encouraged me to start over, so I took a step and began again. I’m back to being a writer, though I’m still working on it.”
“Then I’ll be the first to read it. I’m a big fan,” Luke said, giving her a thumbs-up and a wink.
