iPhone 14 leak reveals excellent design change

Economic Daily News, which is known for its accurate Apple leaks and rumors reporting, has said that the design for the iPhone 14 has been finalized.

While the standard iPhone 14 and new iPhone 14Max will retain the notch, leaks reveal they will adopt it in 2023 which is not a move Apple would make if this was a transitory design. This is a big gamble for Apple and, despite the obvious ‘i’ marketing opporunities of the cutout, it could prove a hard sell.

Following multiple leaks that revealed iPhone 14 Pro models will drop the notch in favor of a (surprisingly large) i-shaped cutout in their display, the original source of this news has shared the exact dimensions of the openings: 5.631mm. And this will shock a lot of experts because it strongly suggests that, under the surface, iPhone 14 Pro models are actually not changing at all.

Apple is expected to unveil its nextiPhone later this year, likely in September.

The company is keeping the device under close wraps for now, but it’s almost certain that several iPhone 14 models are in development.

Now Taiwan’s Daily Economic Newsclaims that Apple is set to include a new and smaller 5G chip in the iPhone 14.

And the report claims that this would allow Apple to feature a large battery in the iPhone 14.

Breaking this down in a series of tweets, mysterious leaker ShrimpApplePro (who sourced the original i-cutout way back in September) explains that 5.631mm aligns with the camera opening inside the notch of the iPhone 13 Pro. This exposes the biggest trick/risk in the iPhone 14 Pro design: “Tbh, it wasn’t any smaller from the iPhone 13. 13’s sensor holes are just hidden in the notch,” states the leaker.
