Episode 85

“You look shocked. Never thought your husband would be home early.

But I need to take extra care of you. Isn’t it?” Ansh said, but he wasn’t even looking at me.

But that wasn’t a necessary statement. He was just saying it for the sake of saying.

Ahana… It’s good. At least now Ansh will be home early and can have dinner with us.

A family time after a long time. “Grandad said.
“Hmmm… I’ll change and be back in a moment.”
Without looking back, I rushed into my room. I was actually bewildered, but then I was very happy to see everyone together.

“So… Had fun at your appointment, or should I say date?”
I turned around and saw Ansh standing in the doorway.

“Huh!!! What?? Ansh… Are we seriously having this conversation?”
“No… We are not. But don’t you dare think I am home for you. I am home just because Dad wants it.”

“Good… You shouldn’t be home for me,” I said and went into the washroom.

I had a warm shower.
When I came back, I didn’t see Ansh in the room. I was glad he wasn’t there. He is really driving me crazy.

Why does he think that Jaai and I are more than friends? Never mind.
I changed into my nightwear and went downstairs. Sara had set the table, and everyone was waiting for me.

“So… Ahana, what did the doctor say?” Dad asked.

I realized Ansh was looking at me now. It’s his turn to be surprised.
“You went to the doctor?” Ansh asked promptly.

“You weren’t aware, Ansh. She went with Jaai. She called me in the evening,” Dad replied before me.

“Oh! No… I didn’t know,” he said in a puzzled tone. And I was very happy because it’s his time to face a bit of embarrassment.

“But… You ought to be aware. Ahana told me you were busy.” He looked at me again. I continued eating. I was hungry, and I didn’t give a care about what Ansh was thinking at this time.

“So… What did the doctor say?” Grandad asked.

“She said that everything is fine. But I need to rest and eat properly.”

“Yup! That you need to do. Trouble us whenever you like. Please be free. We are your family. And remember to trouble Ansh with all sorts of weirdest cravings.

It would be fun watching your husband run here and there to fulfill those.”

“Yes, Grandad,” I said chuckling.
Ansh was emotionless as before. I doubt if he has a heart or not.

After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms. I had brought some good motivational books to read from a nearby library.

I loved reading. It would be great during pregnancy.
“Ahana… Why didn’t you tell me about the appointment?”

“Did you ask me once?” I replied, pretending to read.

But Ansh didn’t reply and left the room. Typical Ansh… Abandoning in the middle of a conversation. But now I am used to it. Bad habits are hard to leave.

I have many things to take care of now. I am already one month and two weeks pregnant. In a few weeks, my belly will swell too.

I have to take care. I am just a bit tensed now about the morning sickness that I have been having for the past two days. It’s really an unpleasant feeling.

You have all kinds of strange feelings in your stomach and that uneasiness when we are at the sea.
I laid on the bed.

I looked to my left. It was empty as usual. It’s been a while since Ansh slept beside me. It is getting a bit lonelier nowadays.

I couldn’t sleep at all tonight. I had some kind of uneasiness in my heart. After tossing and turning, I got up. I wore a jacket and went to check on Ansh. He was still sleeping in the study.

The lights and his laptop were on. I switched them off and covered him up in a duvet.

No matter how many times I did that, I never got tired of doing it. I closed the door, switching the AC on. He was a workaholic though.
