OUR MARRIAGE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER : EPISODES 91 – 100
Episode 92
I thought Ansh would now continue his shower, but instead, he came near me.
He held me from my shoulders.
“Of course, it’s my concern…”
Saying so, he was about to leave.
“But what will I do all alone in the house?”
“Hmmm… That’s not a difficult question. You can read books, watch TV, go to Ma’s house and hang out with your girlfriends. You can even go to Piya’s house. There are many more things.”
I was just staring at him in awe. I didn’t know I have such a bossy husband.
“So… Are we done now? I want to desperately have a shower.”
Saying so, he went. I texted Jaai that now he’ll have to look into some of my work.
Which he readily agreed. Jaai never says no to me. He is such a helpful person. I just wish that he gets all the happiness he deserves.
“Ahana… Done texting?” Ansh’s husky voice echoed from behind.
“Huh! Yeah… I am hungry anyway. Can we eat?”
“Of course… Come on… I thought you were going to skip dinner tonight too.”
How did he know? Sara… Seriously, she tells everything to him.
“And who was the reason behind?” I asked sarcastically.
Ansh came near me. I could smell his aftershave now. His hair was wet too, water dripping down on his grey V-neck T-shirt.
Was I noticing too much of him?
He held me firmly and spoke in my ears.
“Then, I am sure I don’t want to be the reason tonight too. Anyways, I would love to if I get a goodnight kiss again. Or should I say a ‘Shut Up’ kiss again?” I looked at him directly when he said those words.
He remembers. But that’s impossible. How could he? I never remembered a single thing after drinking.
“Ahana… Did you forget who you are married to? Ansh Raichand. He never forgets a thing… Never.”
I didn’t say anything. Maybe this time I was astonished beyond explanation.
I swear I’ll have to be more careful in my actions next time because my husband not only remembers things but is also a mind reader.
We had dinner in silence. An awkward silence. I was feeling well now. It was better than the morning dizziness.

After dinner, we returned to our room. But Ansh looked like he was going somewhere.
“Ansh… Where?” I asked after I saw him taking his cellphone, wallet, and car keys.
“Don’t I have extra responsibilities now?” He said in his usual husky tone.
I didn’t get to which responsibilities he was talking about.
“Ansh… I am still working. Hope you remember. You don’t need to stress unnecessarily.”
He came near me.
“Hmmm… I know. I have to work on the files which I left incomplete when you fainted. So you must rest and sleep on time. Please don’t stay awake until I return. Bye…” He said planting a small kiss on my cheek and winking at me.
This guy is impossible. I just can’t understand him. Anyway, I won’t be able to sleep now, so I will work for a while.
I didn’t realize that it’s already 11:40 pm. Where was Ansh until now? After sending the files to Jen, I switched on the TV. Dad and grandad came half an hour ago, and they must be tired and snoring by now.
Certainly, the two seem to have a good bond with each other. They are always together.
I wonder why Ansh doesn’t share such a bond with his Dad. I firmly believe that children should have a strong bond with their parents.
In my case, I didn’t have a good relationship with Dad because he was always busy with business.
But I did have a very good understanding with Ma. She was actually my Ma. I never had the privilege to even see my mother. I lost her just as she thought she had received me. Maybe it was fate written in my destiny.
But I am sure that my baby and I will be closer than anything else. I’ll be the best Mom.
Isn’t it, honey? I said, resting my hand on my growing tummy. It wasn’t that flat anymore.
There wasn’t anything interesting on TV either. I was getting bored now. I had even finished my novel. I thought of calling Ansh now. It’s 12:50 am now. He should be home by now.
I was really getting worried now. I just hope he doesn’t overexert himself. I tried to relax a bit by closing my eyes, but all I could see was Ansh’s smiling face when he was with the kids at the orphanage.
Maybe one day he would be like that with our baby. Smiling and laughing… the most loving and adorable father ever.

ANSH’S POV
I didn’t want to leave Ahana’s side at all due to her condition. It may be dangerous. Even Dad wasn’t home. But after I saw that she was capable of putting up a good argument with me, I decided to go to work.
I had to complete it anyway, or else the pile would gradually increase.
I was shocked that Jaai didn’t go anywhere and was standing outside our house.
If I knew, I would surely invite him in, but I wasn’t aware when I fell asleep beside Ahana. It felt so peaceful.
But I’ll have to get used to Jaai since I am going to see more of him in the office now. I don’t understand why Ahana trusts him so much.
I just hope he doesn’t betray her one day. But from what I perceive, he really cares for Ahana, and she cares for him in return.
But if Ahana said he didn’t leave her side when she was ill, then why didn’t he come today? Anyway, there are still a lot of unanswered questions. I looked at the watch. Oh! It’s 1 am.
I didn’t realize how fast the time went. I wrapped up my work. I even texted Mir, asking how my champ was doing. He replied he was great. I promised to meet him soon. I was so caught up in my life that I don’t get time for my buddy.
I wonder why Ahana didn’t call until now. I know she is a bit restless and won’t wait until now. But what if… No, Ansh, you must not think anything bad.
She is more than okay and maybe sleeping by now. I just hope Dad returned home. I called him, but it was switched off.
I quickly grabbed my keys and rushed downstairs, closing my cabin. I need to be with Ahana.
When I reached home, I saw Dad’s car.
A sigh escaped from my lips. I entered my room cautiously, like a thief. I climbed up the stairs with agility.
I expected to see the light emanating from the room. Surely Ahana must be awake. No matter how much I try to communicate with her, she never listens.
As I approached, I could hear some sounds. What was she doing? I began to perspire as well.
Upon entering, I was taken aback. Ahana sat with her head against the wall behind the bed, her eyes closed. I believe she was sleeping.
The television was on, and she held a novel in her hand. I approached her with a smile on my face. It was a relief to see her like this.
Taking advantage, I quickly took her picture. Next to her on the bed, I noticed her cellphone with my number dialed. Perhaps she intended to call me.
Nevertheless, I eagerly awaited her call. I truly did. Am I not the typical husband who eagerly awaits his wife’s call every day at the office? It doesn’t matter.
I turned off the TV, set the novel aside, and prepared to hold Ahana, tucking her in properly. However, I realized that I might have a sweaty odor.
