? Elena’s POV ?
“Stop crying, Elena. It’s very hard for Harry, you know” Gabrielle console me.
After Harry chased me from his office, I came straight to Gabrielle’s mansion.
“It’s hard for him? Then what about me? I’m the victim, remember”
“I know you’re the victim, but we don’t have to complain about it. We caused this mess in the first place, now Harry is the one paying the price. Don’t you know he’s in a tight spot” she said.
I looked at her in confusion. Harry is the one paying the price?
“What do you mean he is paying the price?” I asked.
“I see he didn’t tell you”
“Tell me what?” I asked impatiently.
“At the imperial court today, the officials were asking him to choose between you and the crown” she answered.
“What?”
She sighs sadly.
“Elena, this is not a matter to you with. The media already knows about it and Peoria’s reputation is at stake”.
I slump onto the sofa nearest to me. So this was the reason he’s angry.
I brought this misfortune to him,,,,,I guess marrying me was not a good thing after all, now I understand his anger towards me.
“But he was given one week to look for proof that Stephano is guilty, failure to get the evidence he’ll have to choose” she said.
One week? What if he doesn’t get anything? Well, I won’t make it any difficult for him. I won’t give him a hard time choosing between me and the crown.
I’ll get the divorce papers ready, if he doesn’t get any evidence against Stephano I’ll just divorce him.
“We should have listened to Harry” Gabrielle said.
“Yeah” I agreed.
? Prince Harry’s POV ?
The ride from my mansion to the club didn’t take long, although I broke a few rules and got pulled over a few times by the cops.
I enter the club and head straight to the manager, Mr Ravi. He is an Indian guy and also my cousin’s best friend.
“Your highness!” He greets me.
“Mr Ravi, please forgo the formalities” I said and shake hands with him.
“So, Harry. I thought you don’t club” he said and leads me into his office.
He gestures for me to sit down.
“I don’t, usually. I’m here for a little investigation, if I may say”
He frowns a little, then realization dawned on him.
“I guess it’s about your wife’s rape case” he said and I nod. “I heard about it on the news, sorry I wasn’t here last night when she came in, I wouldn’t have let her in. I’m so sorry”
I simply smiles and waves him off.
“It’s not your fault. What’s done is done, I only want a little favour from you”
“Anything that can help you with the case, I’m at your disposal” he said.
“well I was wondering if you can check last night’s CCTV footage”
“Yeah, sure!”
He pressed a button on his desk and speaks into it.
“Zack, in my office”
Not up to 5minutes, a guy enters the office. From his muscular body I can tell he’s a security guard here.
“Sir” he said.
“Can you give us the footage from last night’s event at room 305?” Ravi asked him.
“Yes, sir. Please come with me”
I stand up and Zack leads the way. We arrived at a small office, Zack sits on front of his computer and we stands behind him.
He starts to play the footage. Though we saw Stephano carrying Elena and going upstairs with her still in his arms, but after they enter the room everything went blank.
Zack start it all over again and it still doesn’t show what happened inside the room.
I gritt my teeth against each other in frustration.
“It looks like someone has wiped out that part” Mark said.
“It seems so” Zack agreed.
“Zack, where is Tom? I believe he has a perfect explanation for this” Ravi said.
“Who’s Tom?” I asked.
“Tom is my chief security and he was here last night. He must know why the most important part was wiped” he explained.
I nod. He’s right.
“Mr Ravi, Tom went home since last night and we haven’t seen him since then” Zack reports.
Ravi turned to me with an apologetic look.
“Harry, how about you go home first, I’ll let you know immediately he comes in” he told me.
I stay silent for a moment. This is not a joking matter, I need to find proof to clear my wife’s name and I need to do it fast.
But I guess I’ll have to wait for Tom’s return. He is the only one that can give us an explanation, and if anyone knows who wipe out the footage, it’s him.
“Okay. Thanks for your help” I told him.
“It’s nothing” he replied.
“Please make sure to call me when he comes back”
” Yes”
Then I head out.
? Stephano’s POV ?
Everything is going well, according to my plan. I know they’ll lock me up, that’s why I arranged and carried out my plan before I end up here.
I made sure one of my men got the media involved and I wiped out the footage. Harry is too smart, I know he’ll surely go for the footage but I can’t let him ruin my plan.
To avoid any mistakes I ordered my men to silent that security guard.
Now Harry will just keep on digging but won’t find anything. Finally the crown will be Mine.
