CHAPTER 139
“Aren’t you being too hard on yourself?” Flora frowns as she sits across Mrs Mantinda, you all know Flora right?, The single woman in her late forties and surprisingly the bestest friend to Mrs Mantinda
“Hard on myself?, shouldn’t I be?” Mrs Mantinda belowed and Flora reach out to hold her hand
“I know all this things are starting to get to you, maybe you should have a one on one with Jasper and Gina, make them understand you” Flora suggestions made Mrs Mantinda scoffed loudly
“Gina wouldn’t take my calls and Jasper?, I haven’t heard from him in days, apparently he’s nursing the injury Jasmine’s cousin gave to him” Mrs Mantinda said with an eye roll but behind that gesture is a façade….. Mrs Mantinda is actually worried about Jasper’s situation
“I heard about it too, he deserved whatever Avia did to him and her brother, I’m glad she finally snapped out of her bîtchy behavior and is doing the right thing” Flora pointed out
“She stabbed him” Mrs Mantinda said with a hint of pain looming over her
“Correction, she dogged the attack and it landed on Jasper….. it’s not her fault” Flora corrected
“But still……” Mrs Mantinda trails
“But still what?, Mantinda, are you worried about Jasper?” Flora asked with both eyebrows dipped forward
“No!…..I mean no…. I’m not worried, I’m just lost” Mrs Mantinda rubbed her forehead as Flora soothes her hands
“I know it’s going to be hard but Jasper isn’t that cute little innocent boy anymore….. he’s now a man with bad intentions, and no matter what happens he won’t stop till he conquers everything, I sure hope you know what that means” Flora asked
“I should protect Jayson” Mrs Mantinda gritted out with difficulty
“Exactly, he needs your protections and connections right now” Flora voiced out and Mrs Mantinda pulled her hands away
“But why?” Mrs Mantinda asked taking Flora by surprise
“But why what?” Flora asked
“Why should I protect only Jayson?, what if the kids are right?, what if I’m just a selfish mother who treats her kids unequally?, what if Gina was right?,
what if I’m just too focused on Jayson that I didn’t realize my other son was slipping away into his doom?, If only I had paid a little attention on Jasper, he wouldn’t have turned out this way!…… it’s all my fault!…..
I caused all these mess and has Gina said…..I really should have been the one who died in that accident” Mrs Mantinda gushed out and Flora eyes widened
“Just stop blaming yourself, okay!?, you didn’t know it was going to turn out this way!, nobody is perfect!” Flora frowns
“That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be careful, if no one is perfect that doesn’t mean they are dumb as well” Mrs Mantinda cooed
“Mantinda….”
“I really want to be alone, please” Mrs Mantinda said and Flora nods in understanding, in times like this, it’s understandable if one needs their peace and quiet to think
“I just want you to know that, beating yourself up won’t turn back the hands of time, you are only going to end up getting hurt” and with that, Flora was out of the office, shutting the door carefully behind her as Mrs Mantinda stared at no one in particular
“You are wrong Flora, it’s all my fault” Mrs Mantinda mumbles as she covers her face with both hands, crying her eyes out
