Sun Da’s POV
“What’s so funny?” She asked.
“Ugh? Nothing” I replied.
“Do you have an idea about the song we should sing for the competition?” I asked trying to ease the tension.
” I have no idea” she replied.
“Can you use the guitar or the piano?” I asked.
” Nope but learning it can’t be really hard, right? It is just pulling at him at pressing some keys” she replied.
” We are going to fail at this stage” I shook my head.
” Fail? Impossible! Listen, we can’t fail, especially not to Belinda” she replied.
” Seems like you are in the competition with Belinda alone. Just so you know, Belinda has an almost perfect voice and she knows how to use a whole lot of instruments” I said.
” Are you supporting her?” She asked, pointing her spoon at me.
” Of course not, I am supporting you but you should know that if you don’t learn how to use the guitar carefully, we might fail” I replied.
” Don’t you mention fail in front of me again” she pouted and I nodded with a smile.
“Okay!” I agreed.
Soon, we were done cooking. We set the table for the three of us and mum took her seat opposite the both of us.
“Seo Jun have some meat” mum said, putting some meat in her plate.
“Mum, are you forgetting who your son is?” I asked.
” Oh, what to do? I forgot” mum replied and she laughed along with Seo Jun.
“Don’t be jealous” Seo Jun said and took the meat from her table and stretched it to my mouth.
“Have a taste, it is so sweet” she said and I opened my mouth slightly.
As she was about to put the meat into my mouth, I held her hand off and pecked her lips for a spilt second.
“I think you taste better” I said and she blushed red.
” Mother is here” she said and hit my shoulder lightly.
“Seems like I am really ruining things a lot for the both of you, I would leave now” mum said.
” What? Mother, stay a bit longer” Seo Jun said.
” No, you guys go on with giving me my grandchildren. And you guys should come visiting me soon” mum replied, winked at me and walked away.
“Phew! Thank goodness!” Seo Jun breathed out.
” Why did you peck me in front of her?” She asked.
” Well you didn’t seem to hate it, did you?” I asked in response.
” Stop making me feel so flustered every time” she replied.
” Seo Jun, can I ask a question?” I asked while she ate
” You are already asking one” she replied, with her mouth full.
” Have you ever… Do you… In any way… Seo Jun… Do you…” I stuttered.
” What do you want to say? I promise I won’t hit you” she said and I breathed in and out deeply.
“Have you ever had any feelings for me?” I asked and her chopsticks fell to the table.
I looked at her face searching for a favorable answer.
She stared at me with a somewhat shocked expression.
“You don’t need to say it” I quickly added.
I don’t think I am ready to take that pain of rejection.
“Why… Why… Don’t you want to know?” She asked.
” I really want to know, Seo Jun. If you feel anything for me, continue eating and if you don’t… If you don’t feel anything for me… Go to your room” I replied.
I watched her slowly push the plate of food away farther from herself.
She got up and I felt my heart shrank. I watched her retreating figure as she took the steps.
Rejected! She doesn’t like me! I brought my face down in embarrassment.
But I wasn’t as embarrassed as I was hurt. I wanted to cry and tear the whole place down.
If she never felt anything for me, why the he.ll did she have to respond to my ksses? Why the he.ll did she have to make me believe that I had a place somewhere in her heart.
