CHAPTER 49B

OUTSIDE THE PALACE

Sebastian and Atlas came towards the palace on their horses as the full moon shone on them brightly, Sebastian eyes were gleaming

Finally, he’ll release his daughter.

“Break those gate!!!!!!” Sebastian commanded and some guards rushed towards the large gate but some force draw them back making them fall heavenly on the ground.

“Are you nut, Break that gate” Sebastian ordered and some guards rushed to it holding a big hood but the same force drew them back.

“What are you doing, again”

Some guards went again and still the same thing happened. “What is going on” Sebastian asked Atlas.

Atlas looked at the palace suspiciously. “It a barrier, it covering the palace” He Muttered as soon as he noticed.

“But you told me that there was nothing here earlier” Sebastian flared up.

“How do you expect me to know, when Augustus keeps things from me” Atlas barked.

“Break the barrier” Sebastian said and Atlas frowned.

“You already have the powers in you, it can break the barrier…” He added.

“You know I’ve not fully know all what it could do” Atlas snapped.

“I’m sure it can break any barrier”

Atlas got down from his horse and moved towards the gate. He tried disappearing into the palace but couldn’t.

He took a knife and pricked his fingers as he allowed blood drop on his sword.

His sword shone bright as he used it to hit the barrier covering the palace but he was thrown away as his back hit a tree branch.

Sebastian went to him and took him up. “This is not the right time to strike, let leave it for another day……..it seems like he knows” Atlas said as he groaned..

“I can’t just back down, I’m sure my daughter’s life is at stake”

“Then go, I won’t stop you” Atlas snapped and walked away.

Emperor Sebastian gritted his teeth angrily folding his fist. He wished the door could just open.

He left with the armies as they cleared from sight.

Someone came from a tight corner and it turned out to be Alora staring at the path Sebastian took.

NEXT MORNING~EMP. AUGUSTUS CHAMBER

The sun casted a bright glow illuminating the room, it rays hit Aurora’s face and she closed her eyes tightly trying to move away from the sun rays.

She opened her eyes slowly to see an empty space beside her, she sat up quickly as her eyes fed the room.

Where has he gone to? She wondered, her eyes scanning the room.

She heard footsteps coming and she quickly laid back pretending to be asleep. She opened one of her eye slowly and saw the emperor walking towards her.

She closed it back immediately, her heart racing.

“I know you are awake, get up and stop bursting my ears with your thoughts” he muttered, calmly and she sat up slowly.

“Greetings, My lord” she bowed her head.

“Seriously” he scoffed loudly raising an eyebrow and she swallowed hard.

What was she supposed to say??

“You should use the bathroom” He said and she blinked. She isn’t wearing anything on her body, is only the bedspread that Is covering her nakedness.

Emperor Augustus moved closer to her, his face locked on hers. His face was an inch away from her as his breath fanned her face.

She was expecting a kiss when he suddenly, removed the bedspread away from her body and she gasped.

“Arghhhhhhhh” she screamed using her hand to cover herself.

“Don’t act like I’ve not seen it before” he muttered and she squeezed her face skeptically.

“Why did you remove the bedspread” she asked.

“Nothing, let me take you to the bathroom” he offered and she raised her finger.

“Don’t, I can go myself” she warned trying to stand up but it like her legs were betraying her.

“Ouch” she whirled as the pain in the middle of her legs hit her, he had almost destroyed her last night.

“You can’t move” Emperor Augustus muttered and she rolled her eyes.

“You caused it……I don’t even know why you suddenly becoming nice” she wondered.

“am I not nice before” he asked.

“No, you were once a cold devil” She muttered.

“Devil” he raised his brow and she waved her hands positively.

“Yeah…..maybe..” she couldn’t complete it when he scooped her in his arms and walked towards the bathroom.

SAPPHIRE’S CHAMBER

Aurora’s fingers deftly wove through Sapphire’s hair, crafting an intricate braid as they chatted about everything and nothing.

The warm sunlight streaming through the window highlighted their laughter. But Sapphire’s tone shifted, her voice laced with a hint of curiosity and suspicion.

“Aurora,” Sapphire called, her eyes locked onto hers.

“Yes, Sapphire?” Aurora replied, her smile faltering for a moment.

“I saw you last night,” Sapphire paused, her eyes sparkling with intrigue. “Going to my brother’s chamber. Did anything happen?”

Aurora’s face flushed with embarrassment, her eyes darting away from Sapphire’s piercing gaze. She hesitated, her fingers faltering in their task.

“I see,” Sapphire chuckled, her voice low and knowing. “Well, I won’t pry… for now.” She smiled mischievously.

The tension was broken by Sapphire’s sudden change in topic. “Have you seen Jade? I haven’t been looking for her”

“No, I haven’t seen her” Aurora shook her head.

“Where could she be”

“Let me go check the quaters” Aurora insisted and she nodded.

Aurora left the chamber immediately.
