THE MIRACLE I NEED SEASON 2 : Episode 21 – 30
EPISODE 29
“Your mother did all of that?” Ella asked in disbelief and they all roared with laughter when Kathleen nodded her head.
They were all gathered in Kathleen’s room, Kimberly, Ella, Prisca, and Sharon. Kathleen was done with her makeup and looked regal in her flowing ivory wedding dress with a boat neckline, and long-sleeved hands. She had a beautiful tiara crown on her hair as she looked at them.
“I’ve never been more embarrassed in my life, I swear,” Kathleen said, making Kimberly and the others giggle. Kathleen looked around the room at the friends God had brought her way. Sharon was dressed in a flowing gold gown as she was the maid of honor, while the others were wearing her asoebi.
“I think your mom is very cool. I can imagine my mother-in-law doing something like that with Mimi. Only that I think she won’t need to waste her breath since Mimi is pretty exposed already,” Kimberly said with a fond smile.
“Do you know if your mother is looking to adopt a grown-up daughter? I sincerely love her. She is one of a kind,” Prisca who was dressed in Kathleen’s maroon-colored asoebi commented as she adjusted her ready-made gold gele on her head.
“Easy for you to say when you were not the one watching your mother do all of that,” Kathleen said, cringing in embarrassment as she remembered everything.
“You should have practiced in front of your mother though. I wish I could get lessons from her,” Sharon said with a giggle when Kathleen glared at her.
Sharon was feeling very excited not just because her best friend was getting married, but also because she would be seeing Chuka as well. It had been quite a while since she last saw him because he was busy undergoing training at the company’s branch in Abuja.
“I should probably get something like this, Eric would love it,” Kimberly said with a naughty smile as she admired the teddy Kathleen’s mom had gifted her.
“Can you ever make a complete sentence without mentioning your husband’s name or talking about something related to him?” Ella asked in amusement.
“I thought I was the only one who noticed it,” Sharon said with a grin.
“We all know you are crazily in love with him, stop throwing it on our faces,” Prisca pleaded.
“No, I can’t. Get used to it,” Kimberly said with a happy smile, and they all laughed happily.
“You don’t seem nervous,” Kimberly noticed, staring at Kathleen curiously.
“About the wedding? No. About the night though? I’m very, nervous” Kathleen said with a shaky breath, making Kimberly laugh softly. How ironic that she had been nervous about her own wedding but had been looking forward to the wedding night.
The past couple of weeks with Eric had been the best days of her life and just thinking about him right now, made her toes curl, and butterflies filled her belly. He made the whole marriage thing so easy.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure you will be fine,” Kimberly assured her.

Soon they all left for church, and once they arrived at the church premises, Sharon got out of the car and went in search of Chuka who she knew was probably somewhere around with Eric.
Pete got out of his car and joined Kathleen in hers so they could wait for the service to start and go in together. Pete observed Kathleen’s countenance, and noticed that something was wrong with her, “Are you okay?” Pete asked, watching her closely.
“Yeah, just kinda exhausted,” Kathleen lied and didn’t meet his gaze.
Maybe if she had said nervous, he would have believed her, but exhausted? He didn’t think so. since she had turned down Kimberly’s offer of a bridal shower saying she just wanted to rest.
“You didn’t get enough sleep last night? Are you ill?” He asked in concern
“…”
He looked at her for a moment, “Is there something you want to tell me? Or ask me?” Pete asked uncomfortably, knowing that there was more to her silence than she was saying.
Kathleen glanced at the driver who was still seated in the car, and Pete asked him to give them a moment alone. Once he got out of the car and shut the door, Pete gave his full attention to her, “Talk to me, babe. What is bothering you?”
Now that she had his attention, she couldn’t bring herself to voice her concern as it now sounded stupid. The longer she remained silent, the more tense Pete became.
Had she changed her mind? Was she developing cold feet now? Was she going to end things with him? Pete wondered, “Did I do something wrong?” Pete asked a frown that tugged at her heart.
Kathleen quickly shook her head, “No. It’s not you. It’s me. I just don’t think I can…”
What? She was using this breakup line? She really wanted to end things with him? Right now? Right here at the church? Pete thought in alarm and raised a hand to stop her. He wasn’t sure he wanted to hear her finish her sentence. He suddenly felt like he was suffocating and couldn’t breathe, so he opened the car door to get some air.
“Babe? Are you okay?” Kathleen called in concern as he stepped out of the car.
Babe? She was still babing him? How could she be doing this to him and be calling him babe? Pete felt anger rise within him as he turned to look at her, “Why? Why all of a sudden?” Pete asked, sounding very hurt, and trying to control his emotion.
Kathleen frowned, “Why what?”
“Why are you suddenly breaking up with me?” Pete asked, startling Kathleen.
“Break up? When did I break up with you?” Kathleen asked in confusion.
“You’re not breaking up with me?” Pete asked hopefully.
Kathleen replayed their entire conversation in her head so she could understand what he was saying, and her body shook with laughter when she finally understood what he was thinking. “Here I was thinking I was the Queen of assumptions and an expert at jumping to conclusions. You’re a drama king,” Kathleen said with a giggle that relaxed Pete, but he suddenly glared at her.
“If you’re not breaking up with me, what was that about?”
“I realized we didn’t talk much about sx. I’m not sure I can satisfy you sxually. I’m not that experienced. What if I don’t like sx?”
“What? Sex? That is what was bothering you?” Pete asked in disbelief and sighed when Kathleen nodded.
“Nobody is born a sx expert. You can always learn on the job, no hurry. And about not liking sx, have you seen the way you kss?” he asked with a wink making her hit his arm in embarrassment, “Don’t worry, we are going to be okay. And don’t ever do that again, you almost gave me a heart attack,” Pete pleaded, fighting the urge to kss her.
They were both interrupted by a knock on the window, “It’s time,” Ken announced with a grin.

Time passed quickly until the choir came up for their choir rendition and ministered Hezekiah Walker’s “God Favored Me”. Being one of Kathleen’s favorite songs, she stood up and sang along with them happily.
“Love is patient, caring. Love is Kind. Love is felt most when it’s genuine, but I’ve had my share of love abused, manipulated and its strength misused, and I can’t help but give you glory when I think about my story, and I know you favored me because my enemies did try but couldn’t triumph over me. Yes, they did try but couldn’t triumph over me.
They whispered, conspired, they told their lies (God favors me)
My character, my integrity, my faith in God (He favors me)
Will not fall, will not bend, won’t compromise (God favors me)
I speak life and prosperity and I speak health (God favors me)”
Listening to the lyrics of the song, Eric turned to look at Kimberly when he heard a sniffle. He shook his head when he noticed she was crying softly beside him, and he handed her his handkerchief. He could understand what the song meant to her. It seemed like they were singing about her, “I’m glad they didn’t minister this song at our wedding, else you would have cried a river,” Eric said as he took her hands in his and squeezed it softly, while Kimberly gave him an embarrassed smile. She wished she wasn’t so emotional, but it seemed like her eyes teared up once her emotions were triggered.
Once the choristers were done, the pastor climbed the pulpit. Kathleen paid little attention to the pastor as he preached about marriage, and gave them keys to every successful marital union.
He read from the book of Genesis, using Adam and Eve as examples. He talked about how they were naked and not ashamed. He advised them to be naked to each other by completely being open and keeping nothing from each other. He talked about trust, saying trust was more important than love in every marriage. According to him without trust, even the most loving unions could end in disaster. He talked about submission, asking Kathleen to submit herself to her husband in every way. He advised Pete to love her as Christ loved the church and to be faithful to her and handle her carefully as the weaker vessel. He talked about good communication being a powerful key, next he talked about agreement, telling them the power of unity.

Once the pastor was done and they exchanged their vows, they all took photographs then Pete and Kathleen made their way to the car which was to take them to their reception venue. Once they arrived at the reception hall, Ella helped her to touch up her makeup.
“I’m not dancing in, you know I can’t dance,” Kathleen said to Pete when the master of ceremony started calling for them to dance in.
“Everyone expects the couple to dance in. What do you suggest we do? Walk in or jog in?” Pete asked with a teasing smile, and Kathleen glared at him. How come she had forgotten to discuss this with him before now? Kathleen wondered.
“You don’t have to dance like it is an award show, just move your body. Our dance steps will make up for yours, right?” Sharon asked the others, and they all nodded.
“Just relax. All you need to do is move your body. If you remember, Eric didn’t even dance much at our reception. I’m sure Pete can cover for you,” Kimberly suggested.
“It’s not a big deal. Let’s just go in,” Pete assured her.
Kathleen took in a deep breath and let it out, “Okay,” Kathleen said, and moved to stand at the back with Pete so that the others would dance in ahead of them.
Kathleen looked down when someone tugged on her gown and smiled when she saw Amanda staring at her in awe, “I was wondering why I haven’t seen you anywhere,” Kathleen said, curiously.
“I guess you are just distracted. We snapped some pictures together, remember?” Amanda reminded her. She had been with Kathleen’s family the whole time since Isioma was more of a Nanny to her now, and she was attached to Kathleen’s mother.
“We did? Why can’t I remember? Maybe it’s because I miss you. So don’t go too far, okay? Or perhaps you could just dance in with us, and show off those dancing skills Isioma has been teaching you,” Kathleen suggested.
“Really? I can dance in with you?” Amanda asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
“All eyes will be on her if she does that, you are the bride, you should be the center of attention,” Pete said, and Amanda’s face fell in disappointment.
“I don’t mind sharing the spotlight with my daughter. She called me her mother even before I became her caretaker,” Kathleen said with a grin and held out a hand to Amanda whose eyes lit up again as she took Kathleen’s outstretched hand.
Soon music started booming loudly inside the hall, and every one of them started dancing. Most of the people seated in the hall were politicians invited by Pete’s parents, and the only people she knew in the hall were her family, Pete’s family, the close friends dancing in with them, and her colleagues at work.
Amanda and her father did most of the dancing while Kathleen just smiled and moved her body to the rhythm of the music as she watched them. Thankfully almost every eye was focused on Amanda who was dancing like her life depended on it. Soon they got to their seat, and the music stopped, to Kathleen’s relief.
THE MIRACLE I NEED SEASON 2 : Episode 21 – 30
After some time the MC called them forward to play a game. He asked Kathleen to close her eyes, and much to Kathleen’s dismay, he asked Pete to touch the first part of Kathleen’s body that caught his attention. Kathleen quickly opened her eyes, and with one look at the naughty smile on Pete’s face, she could tell he was about to do something embarrassing.
“Close your eyes,” The MC called to her again, and Kathleen gritted her teeth as she shut her eyes.
Kathleen waited impatiently for Pete to make his move. She felt him lean closer to her as though he wanted to embrace her, so she relaxed. Pete was a gentleman after all.
Her eyes widened in surprise and she gasped when he suddenly grabbed her bum. Kimberly and the others who were watching from their seats and facing Kathleen directly, laughed at the surprise that registered on her Kathleen’s face.
“You are mine now,” he whispered to her in a husky tone, making her stomach tickle in a strange way as a shiver of anticipation shot through her, making her toes curl.
At that moment it dawned on her that she was really going to be having sx from that night onwards, and she didn’t need to battle with her urges or the dreams anymore! Oh, Glory!
