THE MIRACLE I NEED SEASON 2 : Episode 21 – 30

EPISODE 28

*[A Month Later]*

“You are glowing!” Kathleen observed as she admired Kimberly who had only returned from her honeymoon only a week ago. It was the first time they were seeing, and that was because Kimberly had called her the previous evening which was Friday, and asked if she would mind having lunch with her at her home.

Kimberly had moved into Eric’s house upon their return to the country, and she looked very much at home dressed in a short pink gown and floppy slippers. Hanging on the walls of the house were their wedding photos.

Kimberly smiled, “I know, right? I guess that is what happens when you marry a good man that genuinely loves you,” Kimberly said, still smiling happily.

Her happiness was infectious, and it automatically made Kathleen smile too, “I guess so,” Kathleen said with a nod.

“By the way, I invited you over because I wanted us to talk about something important. Let’s have lunch while we talk,” Kimberly suggested, standing up to go to the kitchen.

Eric who had been in the bedroom came out, dressed in camouflage three-quarter shorts and a black T-shirt, “Good afternoon,” Eric greeted with a friendly smile when he saw her.

“Good afternoon Eric,” Kathleen responded with a wide smile, “Congratulations once again on your marriage, and welcome back from your honeymoon,” she said with a polite smile.

“Thank you. I’m heading out to meet with your fiance and his best friend,” Eric said, and Kathleen nodded since Pete had told her they had plans of meeting so that Eric could show them the site he had gotten them for the restaurant.

“So I heard. Thank you very much for helping us with this,” Kathleen said with gratitude.

“It’s the least I can do to say thank you for standing up for my wife, and for being friends with her. I really appreciate it,” Eric said, and Kathleen gave him an embarrassed smile.

“I hope you all have fun,” she said, not knowing what else to say.

“With those two, I’m sure it’s going to be fun and business,” Eric said with a smile, before heading for the kitchen.

“My crown jewel, I’m about to step out,” he called out making Kathleen smile at the unique pet name.

“Okay baby, have fun,” Kimberly said, coming out to kss him before letting him leave.

Once the dining table was set, both ladies sat down to eat, “Don’t tell me you prepared all of this because I was coming?” Kathleen asked, looking at the table which was decorated with different fruits, and then there was a bowl containing fried rice, another with jollof rice, salad, chicken, turkey, fish, moimoi, dodo, and there was even vegetable soup.

“I didn’t prepare it. Aunty Martha did, even though I asked her to make something simple. So please enjoy the meal,” Kimberly said with a smile.

“I don’t even know what to eat or where to start from,” Kathleen said, salivating as she looked at all the dishes.

Kimberly laughed heartily, “Feel free to help yourself with everything,” she said as she dished out a little salad and turkey for herself.

“How was your introduction? The pictures you posted online were really nice,” Kimberly said as Kathleen dished a bit of everything on her plate, apart from the vegetable soup, turkey and chicken.

“Thanks. I’m glad it was successful. And as I wanted, Pete was able to settle everything on the list that day. I didn’t really want to travel down there twice for introduction and marriage. So I’m glad the traditional rites are over, and we can just do the rest over here,” Kathleen said before scooping a spoon of rice into her mouth.

“That’s nice.”

“Hmm… I will love to meet this Aunt Martha, this rice tastes better than that nonsense we eat at the mall,” Kathleen said, and Kimberly giggled, which made Kathleen smile. She noticed that Kimberly seemed so light-hearted, and was laughing happily at everything.

“I’m sure you’ll meet her before you leave. She is busy at the moment,” Kimberly said, “Your wedding, how are the preparations coming?” Kimberly asked as they ate.

Kathleen shrugged, “Pete hired an event planner, so she has been the one doing the bulk of the running around. My job is to make sure I don’t put on any weight between now and then, so I can fit perfectly into my gown. Heaven knows all I want is a low-key wedding, but Pete’s mother wouldn’t hear any of it,” Kathleen said, making Kimberly laugh.

“My mother-in-law was like that too. You should know Yoruba people are not like us Deltans. They look for every opportunity to throw a big party, especially the wealthy ones. Besides, you can’t blame the woman, he is her first son after all. Just try to enjoy it since weddings are not things you do every day,” Kimberly advised, and Kathleen nodded.

“It’s not like I’m complaining though, I’m just saying.”

“I understand. Anyway, the reason I actually called you, I wanted to know if you plan on retaining your job at the company after marriage, or if you’re going to be working at the restaurant after it is established, or perhaps you have other plans entirely,” Kimberly asked.

Kathleen sighed, “I’ve been thinking and praying about it too, but I’m yet to know what to do. I’m not going to work at the restaurant though. And I know working at the company with my husband at the boss would be awkward. The staff won’t be comfortable around me as their fellow employee,” Kathleen said thoughtfully and Kimberly nodded in understanding.

“You know I run my own company with my Prisca, right?” Kimberly asked.

“Yeah, sure. Why?” Kathleen asked curiously.

“Well, while we were honeymooning, my discussion with you about the NGO came up, and my husband really loved the idea. He suggested that the both of us could start it up and together while you run it. No need to wait for some time in the future to save souls. Who knows how many young girls would have died before we are even ready?” Kimberly asked, making Kathleen blink at her in confusion. What was she saying?

“I’m not saying I’m ready to be at the forefront. I’m still battling with my desires, and therapy is helping a lot, thanks to Eric. You won’t believe he made me FaceTime with my therapist while we were on our honeymoon when it was time for our weekly appointment,” Kimberly said making Kathleen giggle.

“Anyway, I told him I was going to ask you about it. I don’t know if you’re ready, but I and Eric could sponsor it, and then you can run it. God knows the number of girls out there who need our help,” Kimberly suggested, making Kathleen’s eyes fill with tears.

“You want me to run it?” Kathleen asked in a low voice, dropping her spoon.

“Sure. Who else? I honestly think we would both make a good team because we represent the two most possible outcomes of sxual abuse. While I became promiscuous, you withdrew from men. So we both have a lot we can teach young ladies,” Kimberly said with a smile.

Judging by the excitement in her voice and on her face, Kathleen could tell that the more Kimberly spoke about it, the happier she became. “I don’t know what to say.”

“You don’t have to say anything immediately. You still have time to think about it. Besides I and Eric already prayed about it. You could also pray about it and allow God to lead you. And also discuss it with Pete,” Kimberly said with an encouraging smile.

“My therapist said, we all have a purpose, and if we all decide to wait until we are ready to fulfill it, then countless lives would have been lost before we are ready,” Kimberly concluded.

“You’re so wise, you know?” Kathleen asked with a smile.

“I think I’m gradually attaining Posttraumatic growth. My therapist said I’m improving really fast, and I think it’s all because of everyone of you God sent into my life. The books you gave me really helped me too,” Kimberly said making Kathleen smile happily.

Kathleen knew without a doubt that this was what she wanted to spend her life doing. Helping people heal, and seeing them as happy as Kimberly was. This was what her calling was.

************

*Wedding day*

“Ngozika, wake up,” Kathleen’s mother called softly as she turned on the light and tapped Kathleen’s shoulder.

“Why? Is it morning already?” Kathleen asked sleepily, not wanting to open her eyes. The previous day had been hectic with all the running around and final preparations for their wedding, so she wanted to get enough rest before Ella and her girls arrive to fix her hair and do her make-up.

“Sit up!” Her mother ordered sternly, and Kathleen reluctantly opened her eyes and sat up on the bed.

They were at a three-bedroom shortlet apartment which Pete had rented for her and her family for the purpose of their wedding. It would be weird for her to leave for the church from his house and return there as a bride, plus there was no way her entire family could fit into her BQ, hence he had rented the place for them to stay there for a week. Thankfully it was April, and schools were on break, so her younger ones had all been able to travel.

“What is it this time?” Kathleen asked with a frown as she checked the time on her phone. It was past four in the morning, and she still had two hours to rest before Ella would get there.

“This is not the time to rest. You can rest after the wedding, but right now I want to talk to you. I might not have the chance to talk to you before you leave for your honeymoon.”

“What do you want to talk about that you haven’t said the last time?” Kathleen asked, thinking her mother wanted to give her another marital advice.

“Sx. I didn’t tell you about sx,” Kathleen’s mother said, making Kathleen look at her in embarrassment. She was going to be receiving sx education from her mother right now?

“Mom…”

“Keep quiet. I believe until now you have not been with a man, am I right? Or have you done it with Pete?” Her mother asked, making Kathleen cringe, “Stop acting like a kid and answer me!” Her mother snapped at her.

“I haven’t,” Kathleen answered finally.

“Have you watched videos or read any books about how to go about it?” Her mother asked again, making Kathleen wish the ground would open up and swallow her. What sort of embarrassing questions were these?

Kathleen’s mother kept staring at her until she finally shook her head, “No.”

Kathleen’s mother sighed wearily. She couldn’t understand the sort of daughter she had. How could she not have at least read about sx? How was she going to satisfy her husband in this modern world? Even at her age she still read about sx, so how could her daughter not?

“What do you know about sx? Or better put, how much do you know about sx?” Her mother asked again.

“Can we not talk about this? Please? It is embarrassing,” Kathleen pleaded.

“I fear if we don’t talk about this now because you’re feeling too embarrassed, what we might be talking about in time to come would be how to make your husband stop coming back home late. And perhaps by the time you stop being embarrassed to talk about it, it might be too late,” her mother said, making her frown.

“He won’t cheat on me.”

“Even pastors cheat when they are sexually starved. Yes, there are decent men out there who might not cheat. But would you prefer that your faithful loving husband endures marriage with you, or that he enjoys spending every moment with you because you satisfy his needs, both physically, spiritually, mentally, and most importantly, sxually?”

“I want him to enjoy being married to me,” Kathleen said, and her mother nodded.

“Remember what I told you before about dressing up nicely? When you are with your husband you shouldn’t be ashamed of being nked. You have to always tease him with your body. Make him crave you every moment. I already asked Isioma to pack those your silly house gowns, I will take them home with me and give them out to charity.”

“You did what?” Kathleen asked in disbelief.

“You don’t need those clothes. Have you ever seen me tying a wrapper around your father?” She asked, and Kathleen narrowed her eyes as she tried to remember.

She shook her head, “No.”

“Good. So you can’t get married and feel too relaxed and comfortable. Let’s get back to the sx issue. Men don’t like women who are frigid or inactive in bed. Sx is a two-way thing, so you have to make sure you give as much as you’re receiving. Don’t just lie still on the bed. Roll your waist, kss him, make sxy sounds.”

In as much as Kathleen appreciated the lecture, she was sure she was going to die of embarrassment. Had Sharon been the one talking to her about these things it would have been better. Where was Sharon anyway?

“Most men love having their wives on top of them during sx, so make sure you offer to ride him, could be cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, or…”

“Cowgirl?” Kathleen asked her mother in confusion.

Her mother looked at her for a little while before standing up. Kathleen thought she was going to leave, but her mother took off her slippers and got on the bed. She knelt on the bed and placed a pillow between her thighs to represent the man she was straddling.

Kathleen’s eyes rounded in surprise when she realized what her mother was up to, “Now pay attention to what I’m doing,” her mother said and started whining her waist in circles.

“Do you see what I’m doing? I’m spelling COCONUT with my waist.”

‘Coco what? God! I can’t believe this!’ Kathleen thought in her head, wishing for it all to be a dream. Unfortunately, it wasn’t, and her mother kept talking.

“Now me being on top of him and facing him is cowgirl. Now for reverse cowgirl, I have my back to him,” her mother said, turning around and showing her different ways to position, “Make sx fun. Do fun things. Say funny things, maintain eye contact when it is intense, give throaty moans, give him soft love bites,” She said as she removed the pillow from under her and sat on the bed, looking at Kathleen.

“We are done, right?” Kathleen asked hopefully. By now every trace of sleep had disappeared from her eyes and all she wanted was for her mother to go far away from her room. She loved the woman no doubt, but she was just too much to handle. She doubted every mother gave their children such lectures.

“Done? We just got started,” her mother assured her with a smile.

Now I’m sure you have heard of d®ggy?” She asked.

“Yes, I have,” Kathleen said since she had often heard it being mentioned.

“Now the correct position for d®ggy is this,” her mother said kneeling on the bed with her bum raised in the air, while her chest and hands were resting on the bed, “As I said, don’t stay still. Even in this position roll your waist,” her mother said, rolling her waist ever so slowly, and then going very fast, and then acting like she was bouncing.

‘Sweet Jesus!’ Kathleen muttered under her breath. This woman was something. Now she understood why her mother was the most sought marriage counselor at their church back at home.

“Now let’s go to blow jobs…”

“No! It’s enough, please. Don’t worry I will ask Sharon or watch YouTube videos and read or do anything, just don’t continue or I’m going to die,” Kathleen pleaded desperately, making her mother shake her head at her.

“If you say so. At least don’t say I didn’t try,” Her mother said as she reached for a black nylon which Kathleen hadn’t noticed before, and handed it to her, “Wear this after you take off your wedding clothes.”

Kathleen opened the nylon to see a sxy red silk teddy lingerie. It had a deep V halter strap neckline, and the back was exposed, only covering the a$s region. She looked at her mother’s face and saw her smiling at her expectantly, “Thank you.”

“Okay. Can you at least practice what I’ve thought you so I can see if you understood?”

“Mummy!” Kathleen half yelled, making the woman laugh.

“Okay o. I’m going to meet my husband. By the way, use the inside of your lips and your tongue, no teeth.”

“To do what?” Kathleen asked in confusion.

“To give your husband blow job,” her mother said with a giggle as she walked away, leaving Kathleen staring at her in dismay. What a way to start her wedding morning.
