THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 131 – 140

Maledicta stood up, feeling a little self-conscious. Lucan took off her dress, trying to avoid staring at her bare skin. He dropped the dress on the ground, and Maledicta felt a flush rise to her cheeks.

She was naked to his eyes, and he laid her on the bed, her back facing him. His face deepened in anger when he saw the scars and wounds on her back. He almost felt like killing Benedicta immediately.

He started cleaning the wounds with the fabric, his touch gentle but firm. As he did, the wounds began to heal, her back becoming scarless and smooth.

When he was done, he covered her with the duvet, since she was already asleep. He sat beside the bed, his mind running around with different thoughts.

He couldn’t understand why he was so angry seeing her hurt. Isn’t she supposed to be an enemy? Someone who was going to kill him?

He kept watching her, his eyes fixed on her peaceful face. He felt a strange sense of calm wash over him, and before he knew it, he fell asleep, his head falling onto the bed beside her.

It was the chirping of the birds that woke Maledicta up. She sat up on the bed and stretched, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She didn’t feel any pain.

She checked her back and realized that the pain was gone. That made her incredibly happy. She also noticed that she was still naked and blushed.

She saw Lucan still sleeping and admired his features. He was looking so handsome that her heart was beating loudly. She started moving her hand closer to him, but his eyes snapped open.

“Why are you still here?” he asked coldly, his eyes narrowing.

“I just woke up,” she said, feeling a little self-conscious.

He stood up and threw her dress at her.

“Put it on and leave,” he said, his voice firm. He turned and walked into the bathroom.

Maledicta rolled her eyes before putting on her dress. She left the room, feeling a little confused. What was going on with Lucan?

She met a guard at the door. “Follow me,” the guard said and took her to the room next door.

They both entered the beautiful room, and Maledicta’s eyes widened in surprise. The room was stunning, with beautiful decorations and furniture.

“This is your room now,” the guard said and left before she could say anything.

Maledicta stared at the beautiful decorations, feeling a sense of wonder. She lay on the bed, relief wash over her.

“He gave me this room,” she muttered to herself, a smile spreading across her face. “That means my Kaiden is still there.”

She felt a sense of hope rising up in her chest. Maybe, just maybe, she could still save Lucan. Maybe she could still bring back the Kaiden she loved.

Thane entered the garden, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of Lilith. He spotted her just as she was about to exit the garden, and his heart skipped a beat.

They didn’t say anything to each other, and instead, they just walked past each other. But Thane couldn’t shake off the feeling that he needed to talk to her.

He suddenly turned and ran after her, his feet pounding the pavement. But as he turned the corner, he was surprised to see Lilith coming back towards him.

They both smiled nervously, and Thane felt his heart flutter in his chest.

“How is your wound?” Thane asked, his voice filled with concern. “I hope you’re not feeling any pain.”

Lilith smiled, “No, we were given herbs yesterday, and surprisingly, they worked.” She said.

Thane’s face lit up with relief. “I’m glad,” he said, his voice sincere.
