THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 141 – THE END

Lucan wanted to stab her with the sword on the ground, but she quickly rolled away. The others breathed a sigh of relief, their fear momentarily alleviated.

Maledicta moved back a little, creating some distance between herself and Lucan. She made a ball of energy and threw it at him, hitting him squarely.

“Come to your senses, Kaiden!” she yelled.

But Lucan just smirked, creating a massive black fireball. It was enormous, and Benedicta watched with a satisfied smile on her face.

Maledicta wanted to run, but the fireball was too fast. It approached her with alarming speed, and she yelled “Kaiden!” with everything in her before the fire engulfed her chest and sent her flying over.

Lucan grabbed his head, starting to groan in pain. His eyes suddenly returned to their normal color, and he looked towards Maledicta, who was trying to stand up while vomiting blood.

“Male!” he yelled, running to catch her as she fell again.

“I am so sorry; please forgive me,” he begged, tears streaming down his face as he remembered everything he had done.

Maledicta managed to say “I…am…sorry too” before stabbing him in the chest with the golden dagger. Lucan’s eyes widened in shock, and he fell to the ground beside her.

He grunted and groaned in pain, his body twitching until he finally stopped moving. All his guards, horses, and cages disappeared, including the ropes that bound the others.

Maledicta crawled closer to Lucan’s limp body, calling out his name, but he didn’t budge. She yelled his name, crying hotly when nothing happened.

“Why isn’t he standing up?” she asked, tears streaming down her face.

The others watched, unsure of what to say. Then, like a flash, someone stabbed Maledicta from behind, the sword coming out from the front.

“Finally,” Benedicta muttered with a smirk, but she was immediately attacked from every angle. Fireballs of all sorts were sent her way by the students.

She fell to the ground, unable to move. Mistress Morwen and the others rushed towards Maledicta, who was pouring out blood from her nose, mouth, and ears.

“I am so sorry, daughter,” Mistress Morwen cried, not knowing what to do. They couldn’t even remove the sword, and Maledicta was already too weak to heal herself.

“If…he…wakes…up, tell him…to…wait…for…me, don’t…hurt…him,” Maledicta managed to say before going limp.

The others started crying immediately. Lucan coughed and opened his eyes, which widened as he saw Maledicta’s body. He ran to her side, shaking her and telling her to stand up, but she was long gone.

“This is my fault; I was the one who was supposed to die,” he said, crying profusely. The others watched sadly, unsure of what to say.

As they stood there, mourning the loss of Maledicta, Lucan’s eyes never left her body. He was feeling so much regret.

FEW DAYS LATER

The whole town gathered at the altar, their faces somber and grief-stricken. Maledicta’s body lay on the altar, dressed in a beautiful white gown, adorned with intricate lace and delicate flowers. A flower crown rested on her head, and her hair was styled in soft, flowing waves.

The students stood at the front of the crowd, their eyes puffy and red from non-stop tears. Kaiden, in particular, looked like a living dead man. His eyes were sunken, his skin pale, and his face gaunt. He seemed to have aged decades in just a few days.

As the ritual began, the townspeople sang a haunting melody, their voices echoing through the air. The students joined in, their voices cracking with emotion. Kaiden, however, remained silent, his eyes fixed on Maledicta’s lifeless body.
