Benedicta turned to leave, but not before casting a cold glance at Aka.
“Remember, stay away from Kaiden, I am not nice and you know that” she warned, her voice dripping with malice.
Aka watched as Benedicta disappeared into the trees, her heart seething with anger and resentment.
She knew that she had to be careful, that Benedicta was not someone to be underestimated.

Kaiden knocked gently on the door before opening it, Maledicta had just finished her bath, and her white hair was plastered to her body, making her look even more beautiful than usual.
Kaiden’s eyes widened in admiration as he took in the sight of her. He felt a nervous smile spread across his face as he walked closer to her.
“I’ll be going soon,” he said, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in his stomach. “I just wanted to tell you.”
Maledicta muttered a response, not even looking up at him as she walked over to her bed. “Have fun, then.”
Kaiden’s smile faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered. He didn’t want to leave her, not when she looked so beautiful and vulnerable. “I just don’t like the idea of you staying in the school alone,” he said, trying to sound convincing. “You’ll be sad and bored.”
Maledicta scoffed, rolling her eyes. “This isn’t my first time, so stop overreacting.”
He walked closer to her, his eyes locked on hers.
“You could disguise yourself and come with me, I could stay if you want me to.” He said.
“What are you doing this?” she asked while moving closer to him.
Kaiden’s heart skipped a beat as he looked into her eyes. He felt like he was drowning in their depths, like he was being pulled under by a riptide.
“I don’t know,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
“This is all weird to me. I just want you to be happy.” He added.
Maledicta’s eyes searched his face, as if looking for something. And then, to Kaiden’s surprise, she didn’t look away. She just kept looking at him, her eyes locked on his.
Kaiden felt his heart racing as he reached out to touch her cheek. She didn’t stop him, just kept staring at him as he leaned in closer.
He could feel her warm breath on his skin, and it sent shivers down his spine.
Maledicta’s eyes fluttered closed and her lip pouted slightly.
