THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 51 – 60
Maledicta moved closer to Kaiden, her eyes closed tightly as she tried to block out the storm. Kaiden wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as he tried to calm her down.
“Don’t worry, just relax,” he whispered into her ear. “Nothing is going to happen.”
He stroked her back, trying to soothe her as the storm raged on outside. Slowly but surely, Maledicta started to relax, her body easing into Kaiden’s as she let out a deep breath.
As the minutes ticked by, the storm showed no signs of letting up, but Maledicta’s grip on Kaiden’s arm slowly loosened. Her eyes remained closed, but her breathing slowed, and she eventually fell asleep, her body curled up against Kaiden’s.
Kaiden watched her, amazed that she had been able to fall asleep despite the storm raging on outside. He knew that this was a big deal for her, and he felt a sense of pride and satisfaction knowing that he had been able to help her feel safe.
As he lay there, holding Maledicta close, Kaiden realized that he would do anything to protect her. He would face any storm, any danger, as long as it meant keeping her safe.
The storm raged on outside, but inside, Kaiden and Maledicta were safe, wrapped in each other’s arms, and lost in their own little world.

The stormy night was fierce, with heavy rains and strong winds that threatened to uproot the trees. But amidst the turmoil, a figure emerged, walking steadily through the downpour. As she approached Kaiden’s door, she pushed back her hood, revealing Benedicta’s face.
“Kaiden!” she called out, banging on the door with her fist. But there was no response.
“Kaiden, it’s Benedicta! Please open the door, I can’t sleep alone in my room!” she shouted, her voice carrying above the sound of the rain. But still, there was no answer.
Benedicta’s face twisted in frustration. She used her power to open the door and stepped inside, calling out Kaiden’s name again. But he was nowhere to be found. She checked his bathroom, but he wasn’t there either.
A feeling of unease began to creep over her. Where could Kaiden be? She thought he would be in his room, especially on a night like this. But it seemed she was wrong.
Benedicta stepped back out into the storm, the rain pounding against her face. She made her way to Ryder’s room, her heart burning with anger and suspicion. She knocked on the door, and after a few moments, Ryder opened it, looking surprised.
“Senior Benedicta, why are you out in the rain?” Ryder asked, his eyes scanning her drenched form.
Benedicta forced a bright smile onto her face.
“Where is Kaiden?” she asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Ryder’s expression turned curious. “Is he not in his room?” He asked.
Benedicta’s smile faltered for a moment before she regained control.
“I should have checked his room first. I just assumed he would be here, since it’s raining.” She said.
“He’s not here.”Ryder shook his head.
Benedicta’s eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities of where he could be and she hope it’s where she thinks he is.
“Forget I came here. You don’t have to tell anyone,” she said, turning to leave.
Ryder nodded, his eyes watching her as she disappeared into the night. He shivered, feeling the chill of the storm, and quickly returned to his bed, seeking the warmth and comfort of his blankets.
Benedicta, on the other hand, was not seeking comfort. She was driven by a burning anger to find out where Kaiden was. She made her way to Maledicta’s room, the storm raging around her like a living thing.
As she stood in front of Maledicta’s door, the rain pounding against her, she felt her anger boil over. She glared at the door, her eyes blazing with fury. She didn’t bother to knock or try to enter.
The storm raged on, but Benedicta didn’t move. She was frozen in place, her anger and suspicion holding her captive. And as the minutes ticked by, her fury only grew, fueled by the stormy night and her own dark thoughts.
