Kaiden tossed and turned on his bed, unable to shake off the thoughts of Maledicta that had been plaguing him all night. He had tried to sleep, but his mind kept wandering back to what happened. and the guilt that had been eating away at him.
He hadn’t spoken to her since the incident with Benedicta.
Finally, unable to take it anymore, Kaiden threw off his covers and got out of bed. He made his way to Maledicta’s room, the red moon still shining brightly in the sky.
He knocked gently on the door, and when it opened, he took a deep breath before entering. Maledicta was laying on her bed, though she wasn’t asleep. She looked up at him, her eyes gleaming in the moonlight.
“I thought you wouldn’t come,” she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Kaiden took a step closer to her, his heart pounding in his chest.
“I want to tell you something,” he said, his voice shaking slightly.
Maledicta sat up straight, her eyes fixed on his.
“What is it?” she asked.
Kaiden took a deep breath before speaking.
“Yesterday, something happened. I was with…” He stopped, unable to continue, as he saw the look on Maledicta’s face.
She was staring at him, her eyes piercing and intense. Kaiden felt like he was drowning in their depths, unable to look away.
“We…we…kissed” he stuttered, feeling like he was confessing to a crime.
But to his surprise, Maledicta’s expression didn’t change. She didn’t look angry or hurt, just calm and collected.
“You don’t have to tell me if you can’t say it,” she said.
Kaiden felt a wave of relief wash over him. “Really?” he asked, his voice full of gratitude.
Maledicta nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. “Yeah, I overlooked everything.”
She opened her arms, and Kaiden felt like he was being pulled into a warm embrace. He hugged her back, feeling like he was home.
“I like you so much, Maledicta,” he said, his voice muffled against her shoulder.
Maledicta’s arms tightened around him.
“Does that mean we’re lovers?” she asked, her voice teasing.
Kaiden pulled back, looking into her eyes.
“Yeah, we are,” he said.
Maledicta’s face lit up with a radiant smile.
“Now I won’t allow any of those girls around you, because you belong to me only. You’re mine,” she muttered, her voice possessive.
Kaiden felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked into her eyes.
