THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 61 – 70
(RED HANDED)
Belladonna slowly turned around, her eyes widening in surprise as she found herself in Cassius’s arms. For a moment, she thought maybe what had happened the previous night was just a dream, but the reality of the situation quickly set in.
She blushed and stared at Cassius’s face, taking in the sharp angles and chiseled features that made him look so handsome and innocent. She couldn’t help herself; she reached out and gently traced her hand over his smooth face, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath her fingertips.
As she touched him, she could hear the sound of her heart beating loudly against her ribcage, and she felt a flutter in her chest. It was as if she was awakening to a new reality, one where she was connected to Cassius in a way she couldn’t quite understand.
Just as she was lost in the moment, Cassius suddenly stirred from his sleep, and Belladonna quickly removed her hand, feeling a rush of embarrassment. She watched as he opened his eyes, confusion etched on his face.
“Good morning,” she muttered, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil brewing inside her.
Cassius looked around, taking in his surroundings, before his eyes landed on Belladonna. He was confused for a moment before he finally regained his senses. He sprang out of bed, looking shocked and disoriented.
“What am I doing here?” he asked, staring at his naked form in horror. He quickly grabbed his clothes and started putting them on, his movements jerky and agitated.
Belladonna watched him, feeling a pang of guilt and embarrassment.
“You suddenly showed up here yesterday, calling me your mate, and then you made a move on me,” she explained, trying to keep her voice steady.
Cassius’s expression turned angry, “I would never do that! What are you talking about?”he snapped.
Belladonna took a deep breath before continuing. “It was Cass, your wolf. He came here, and I couldn’t stop him.” She said.
Cassius’s face darkened, “That horny bastard.”he muttered under his breath.
“Don’t curse at me,” Cass snapped inside Cassius head.
“Just shut up, did you know what you just did?” Cassius said his voice rising in anger.
“I did nothing wrong,She is our mate, and I just regret the fact that I didn’t mark her.” Cassius’s wolf, Cass, snapped back in his head.
Cassius’s expression turned even darker, “Just leave me alone, don’t talk to me again.” He said
He locked Cass out of his head, Cassius turned to face Belladonna, his eyes cold and unforgiving.
“You know he’s not me, and you still slept with him,” he said, his voice dripping with disgust.
“How could you? Did you think this would ever change anything? It changes nothing. I won’t ever see you as my mate.” He said not caring how she take his word.
Belladonna felt a pang of pain and regret.
“Cassius, I’m sorry,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I really tried to stop him, but yesterday was the red moon. It was very difficult for me. Please don’t be angry with me.” She pleaded and grab his hand.
Cassius’s expression didn’t change, and he pulled his hand away from hers.
“I don’t want to listen to your excuses,” he said, his voice cold and detached.
“I’m so disappointed. If Cass had marked you, you would have tied me down when I feel nothing for you.” He said, With that, he turned and left, banging the door behind him.
Belladonna felt a wave of despair wash over her, and she finally let her tears fall. She felt dirty, unholy, and weak.
She cleaned her tears, picked up her clothes, and went into the bathroom to shower. As she stood under the warm water, she couldn’t help but wonder what the future held for her and Cassius. Had she ruined her chances with him forever? Only time would tell.
