The door suddenly flew opened, Ethan rushed in breathing hard. His eyes turned cold seeing Patricia and her minions ready to bully Annabelle.

“What the hell?!” He yelled.

Patricia was shocked to see him. How did he get here?

“E..Ethan” she stuttered.

“You see the reason why I hated you. Why must you be bitchy all the time?!” He yelled at her before walking towards Annabelle.

He held her hand but she jerked it away instantly. “I hate being touched” she said lightly.

Ethan knew she would be like so he said gently “Let’s get out of here”

Seeing how Ethan treated Annabelle, Patricia hatred grew the more. Ethan is her Ex whom she still like but she never gets the attention she wants. Ethan broke up with her saying he hates the way she act.

Getting to the hallway Ethan faced Annabelle.

“stay away from Patricia, she will hurt you for sure”

Annabelle didn’t reply but walk pass him instead. Ethan frowned.

“No thank you?.. after I had saved you back there?” He asked taking three long steps to meet her.

“I never asked for your help” Annabelle replied blankly before leaving.

“Ethan! C’mon.. it’s time!” Liam yelled from a distance. He look back at Annabelle shortly before turning to meet Liam.

It’s been pass an hour since the match started. Ethan watched the other team scored another goal.

“Fuck!” He cursed under his breath, are they really going to win this match?

The word ‘ETHAN’ was written boldly behind his back and the girls in the place couldn’t help but squealed at his beauty even the seniors.

“You can do it Ethan!!!!” Jennifer yelled for her spot.

“You too Liam!!!” Jennifer yelled again.

“This is fucked up, are we really going to win this match?” Liam asked walking close to Ethan.

“I hope so, the score is quite far from each other and we have few minutes left” Ethan said breathlessly.

“Tigers!!! Gather around!” The coach yelled and they all gathered around.

“So what the hell is wrong with you guys. I can’t help but say you all are acting like a damn chicken. This match means a lot. Get your ass out there and win as a team… You got that?” The coach asked.

“Yes sir!!” They all chorused before going to their position.

“Your ability is slacking off dick” Bastian; Ethan’s rival. He is smoking hot and got girl attention too but despise Ethan for no good reason. They were in the same team but hates each other.

“Fuck off jerk” Ethan muttered.

Bastian made to go close to him but got a glare from the coach.

“I’ll see you around dick” He said then walk away.

Ethan spotted someone just around the corner. Wow! She really came? He couldn’t help but smile.

Annabelle sat down with a bored look. One could hardly notice her there. ‘Abnormal’ she thought to herself.

The whistle made him stood alert and the game continue.

Ethan made sure he was fast enough to dodge his opponent. He bounce the ball beneath one and then got it again behind. He jumped but didn’t throw the ball fooling the one before him. Making a twist in the air he finally throw the ball and it got into the net.

“YESS!!!” Jennifer stood up and yelled. She was shaking her waist in a funny way.

Ethan smiled and look back at where Annabelle was but the smile disappeared when he didn’t see her there.

“Crazy luck, duh!” Bastian rolled his eyes.

“We are in the Same team. You should be happy” Ethan said.

“I should be the one winning the goal not you” He said walking away. The fact that the girls also drool over Ethan too, makes him upset. He wants the girls all to himself.

“Gawd, I hate him” Ethan muttered as he watch him leave.

The match continue and the Tiger team gets to win the match in a way no one expected. Ethan actually earn three points for the team two times in a roll while Bastian earn three first and then two..

Liam earn two in a roll.

They won the other team with just two points away. The three of them are the best player in the team..

“We won!!” Liam screamed. His eyes met with Mrs Charlotte in the crowd and his smile disappeared.

“What’s she doing here?” He muttered averting his gaze instantly.

“We did it bruh!” Ethan ruffled his hair and he started smiling again.

“I’m so fucking happy” Liam squealed.

Jennifer ran towards them and gave the two of them hug.

“I’m so happy for you. We should celebrate this!” Jennifer squealed.

Ethan sighed looking at the spot where Annabelle was, “where did she go?” He muttered.

Lord Smith stared at the girl who sat with her head facing down. Some of her hair covered some part of her face.

“How is your first day in school?” He asked lightly.

“Boring.. there was no blood to shed” She replied lightly.

“Hm..” He stared at her for a while before asking. “Did you try to kill anyone in school?”

Annabelle turned quiet at his question. His eyes change into a cold one as he said. ” I asked you a question Anna”

“I’m sorry. I wanted to but I didn’t” she said still keeping her head low.

“Scar!!!” His thunderous voice rented the room, seconds later, a huge man came in with a scar on his right eyes.

“Give her seventeen lashes” he ordered.

Annabelle stood up on her feet an went to take a whip hanged on the wall. The whip has some tiny sharp metals at the edges.

Scar received it from her and watch her kneel. He raised his hand and the hit her back with it. The tiny sharp metals gave her wounds but she didn’t make a sound. It was as if nothing was happening to her.

The second lash came and she didn’t budge. Her back peeled from the lashes. Up to the seventeenth Annabelle didn’t make a sound. Her back bleed from it.

After Scar was done, she took back the whip and went to hang it back. She bow Lord Smith before leaving the room to hers.

NEXT DAY.. BRILLIANT HIGH

The students had been waiting for the teacher appointed for over 10 minutes.

“What’s taking the teacher so long?” Jennifer sighed beside Ethan.

Liam appeared and sit at his place.

“Hey what took you so long?” Ethan asked Liam.

“Oh it’s nothing” Liam replied looking elsewhere. He had been avoid Mrs Charlotte. He was almost caught today. Why Is that teacher crazy over him?

“You okay Jennie?” Ethan asked Jennifer whose face look a bit tired.

“Yeah I’m fine, I got home late last night” She replied.

Ethan raised his hand and touched her hair, tucking it behind her ear. “Sorry, you could have skipped school today”

Jennifer looked away in order not to let Ethan see her blushed cheek.

Ethan smiled seeing her reaction and return his gaze to Annabelle. Daniel seems to be showing her something in a paper. he got curious.

Annabelle stared at the picture before her. It’s a picture of woman holding a five years old girl and also, she was carrying a baby with a teddy bear in her right hand.

“I never knew you like dark stuff. The woman in the picture was killed mysteriously and the daughters was never found up till today” Daniel said.

Annabelle grab her bag and then pull out a teddy bear which look exactly like the one on the paper. She found this toy in an hidden corner of her room. She wanted to throw it away but couldn’t.

Daniel frowned seeing the toy. Is she the girl in the picture?

“Hey freak, I can’t believe you bought a toy to school. What are you? A year old kid?” Patricia exclaimed and the class laughed lightly.

The teacher they had been waiting for finally walked in and they all turn quiet.

“Sorry about Patricia, she’s always like that” Daniel said beside her.

“I guess her life span isn’t long after all” she muttered causing Daniel to frowned. She turn her head towards Daniel. “Is there anyway to find out what happened to this woman?” She asked.

“Well you can browse it but my phone is down at the moment. You can ask any other person for help. Computer would be faster” He replied.

“You are the only sensible person here, others are just imatured” She said lowly.

“Uh.. right” Daniel muttered awkwardly.

At lunch, Annabelle stared at Ethan from a distance. Should she ask him or help? Daniel had suggested her to ask him for help.

She watch Patricia walked towards Ethan who was busy eating.

“Hey Ethan” She smiled keeping her both hands behind her back.

“What do you want?” He asked flatly.

“Well I’m sorry for being someone so rude, I just want to ask if we can start all over..”

“Hey weirdo” A voice interrupted them. They look back just to see Annabelle walking towards them. Ethan didn’t have the chance to talk to her today.

“Weirdo? Can you at least be respec…”

“I wasn’t talking to you, so scram” Annabelle cut in the face Ethan. “Get up, I need to talk to you”

“Scram? Who do you think you are?” Patricia asked coming before her.

“Move” she demanded.

“Tssk, and what made you think I would?” She asked.

“Cus you are going to regret it. I don’t wanna hurt you” Annabelle said lightly.

“Look who’s talking, I’m more built than you. You think you can hurt me?” Patricia scoffed.

“Size doesn’t matter.. A rat can kill an elephant, if it has the determination to do so. Move, I won’t ask again” Annabelle said, this time, her eyes met with Patricia.

Patricia could feel the danger but she ignored it. She made to grab her shoulder but Annabelle’s grab her wrist and twist it. Not enough to break it but enough to give her pain.

“Don’t test me, the last person who did so. lost all ten fingers” Annabelle said pushing her away. Patricia staggered, her back hit the table behind her.

Annabelle turn back to Ethan. Patricia grab a plate on the table and walk towards Annabelle. Ethan saw this and his eyes widened.

“Bitch!” She yelled trying to hit her with the plate but Annabelle dodge. She grab Patricia by her head and collide her kneecap to her face causing her nose to bleed.

“Fuck you’re dead” Patricia yelled, her minions stood up with a cold look.

The food Vendor called the school authority, knowing a fight will break soon.

“Oh shit” Liam muttered.

“Annabelle” Ethan went to grab her hand “Let’s get of here, you’ll get hurt”

She jerk her arm away from him. “I told you not to touch me” she muttered.

Patricia’s minions surrounded Annabelle. “You messed with the wrong person sweethearts” Patricia said as seven of her minions surrounded Annabelle.

Oh no! The new girl is definitely going to get hurt so bad…

Does she know who she is messing with?…

Patricia won’t go easy on her…

Ethan made to butt in but then remember Annabelle not appreciating him when he helped her last time, so he retreated and decided to watch what she is going to do.

Patricia’s minions came at Annabelle at once. The first one was unlucky cus Annabelle grab a plate of pasta and gummed it her face Before hitting her lower leg bring her down. She grab two of them behind her and hit their head together.

One of them broke glass cup on her head. Annabelle didn’t flinched. Instead, she smirked before turning her head to the one who hit her.

The girl shrink in fear by her look. She made to retreat but Annabelle drag her back. She place her on the table and shove a burger on her mouth enough to choke her.

She was done kicking their ass after 15 seconds.

Everyone was shock by her move. Even with her tiny body she was able bring down seven bullies.

“You all are weak, what a boring fight” Annabelle muttered staring at the girls on the floor. Her gaze finally move to Patricia.

Patricia quickly raised her hands in surrender knowing she would lose. She walked backward. “I’ll see you again freak” she said leaving.

Ethan jaw was practically on the floor. What the hell?

His mind was still processing what just happened when Annabelle held his hand and drag him out of the cafe.

Other students could only stare.

Getting to a quiet corner, Annabelle let go of Ethan. He frowned staring at her.

“Uhm, you didn’t bring me here to kick my ass.. right?” He asked.

“No, I just need your help”

“You always give me a cold shoulder and now you need my help, sorry but no” Ethan said and made to leave but Annabelle held him back.

“That wasn’t a request” She said.

“I don’t like been touched” He looked down at her hand and then removed it. “You need to learn how to ask” He turn to leave again.

In the next moment, Ethan found himself pinned against the wall, with his hand behind him. Damn!.. she is strong!

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” He managed to speak even with his head pinned to the wall.

“This is my way of asking” She said.

“You know I’m quite famous in this school right? Those girls drooling over me won’t take it lightly with you”

“I’d love to teach them how to think of their future instead of drooling over a boy like you” Annabelle replied still holding him in place.

“This is bully, I’m reporting you to the higher authoriti… Ahh” He groaned when the girl push his head harder.

“Shit, fine!! I’ll help you”

Immediately those words left his lips, Annabelle released him instantly. Ethan hissed and turn to her. “Seriously that is no way of asking!” He exhaled trying to massage his arm.

“I need to find out about an incident that happened years ago. I heard you are good at this”

“What incident”

“None of your business, all I need is your computer” She said.

“I can’t bring that to school, it’s not permitted” Ethan said. This is actually the longest conversation he had ever had with her.

“We are not doing here in school”

Ethan frowned. “Where then?”

“Your home.. every midnights”

Ethan eyes widened.

“No way! Midnight of all hours of the day. I can lend you my computer for you to do whatever you wanna do at your place” Ethan said with his eyes widened.

“I can’t do it at my place, it’s prohibited and midnight is the only free time I have” Annabelle answered.

“Why can’t you just do it after school?”

“I have to get to my base first, really important”

“You can do it during lunch, the school own computers too”

“I’ll be reading during lunch” she answered.

Ethan was already going crazy. “You can’t just go to a guy’s place in the middle of the night! Do you even know what that means?”

“Your questions are getting too much, where do you stay?..”

“You think I’m going to tell you?” Ethan raised his brow.

“Hey you!!” A teacher called from a distance.

Ethan let out a breath of relief spotting the teacher. Finally! Annabelle stared at the teacher walking towards them without an angry look.

“Come with me Annabelle, you are in trouble” The teacher said.

The School chancellor stared at Annabelle with her finger below her chin. She is a slightly chubby woman, her aura is professional.

“Hurting your fellow students is a very big offence in the school” she said.

“I didn’t hurt them, I only taught them a lesson” Annabelle replied. If she had the thought of hurting them, then she’ll be using daggers not her hand.

“That is wrong Annabelle”

“They were the one who tried to bully me first. Teaching them a lesson is the right thing to do” She said.

“You were the one who started the fight” The chancellor said.

“Let me guess. You’ve discussed with Patricia before me. Then my words to you is just trash since you’ve believed what you want to believe” Annabelle voice came out sharp. For a moment the Chancellor felt like she was talking to a person older than 16. How did she know Patricia had made her complains before?

“Are you saying Patricia was the one who started the fight?”

“I don’t think my explanation is allowed. You’ve made up you mind already Mrs Laura” Annabelle said.

“That’s detention for a whole week” Mrs Laura said.

“Hey!” A voice snapped her out of her thought. She turn back just to see Bastian and two other seniors.

Girls at the hall way couldn’t help but say hateful words at Jennifer. How could she reject one of the hottest guy in school?

“That was cool” A voice made her halt. She was wearing a hoodie with a cap placed backward on her head. She act like a tomboy.

“Selene?” Jennifer eyes widened. “It’s been two weeks girl, you’ve missed a lot!” She scolded.

“Words, we are in school” Jennifer said and continue walking.

“You’ll know her yourself once you see her” Jennifer replied. She stopped when she found Ethan and Liam walking towards them. They were both chatting and laughing.

Jennifer heart skipped a beat as she watch him walk towards their direction in slow mo. His lips, nose and jaw was just too perfect.

“Ah, you still have crush on him. Why can’t you just tell Ethan?” Selene said.

“Shhh” Jennifer glared at her.

“Tell me what?” Ethan asked Selene.

“That…” Selene made to speak but Jennifer hit her chest using her elbow causing her to gasp.. “that I’m so glad you see you” Selene said with gritted teeth.

“Here comes our gangster” Liam said.

“I told you not to called that” Selene glared at him.

“You behave like… Ahhh” Liam yelped when Selene jumped and pulled his hair. “That hurts!”

Ethan chuckled while Jennifer stared at him with a smile on her face. She look away when he made to look at her. “I’ll be leaving early today” he said to her.

“Why? You’re not eating with us after school today?” She asked.

“Yeah, I have something to do” Ethan said. His main purpose was to avoid Annabelle.

Meanwhile Annabelle was in detention. She was staring at the teacher calmly. They call detention a punishment but to her it was like a staring contest. She focus her gaze on the teacher.

The teacher assigned to look after her started feeling weird with the way Annabelle was busy staring at her. She swallowed, wondering if this girl before her would ever blink. this would be her first time meeting a student which have such an aura. She could hardly look away from her.

She check the time and wish this can end Sooner. It seems this detention was made for her and not the student.

“It’s time, you can leave” She voiced out when she couldn’t take it anymore.

“It’s remaining five minutes. The Chancellor asked you to make sure I complete my time here”

Five more minutes feels like five hours to the teacher. She is never doing this with this student again

Finally it was time. Annabelle stood up from her seat causing the teacher to sigh deeply.

Annabelle found the school almost empty. She didn’t even get to see Ethan. He left without giving her his address. A car stopped before her and Scar wine down the window.

Jennifer saw this.

“She’s weird” she muttered with a small frown on her face.

(ETHAN’S APARTMENT)

Ethan walked into his home and found his mother preparing for work. She does night shift at the hospital sometimes.

“Hey mom” He greeted as he walk in.

“Hey sweetie, how was school today?” She asked.

“It was cool, you have a night shift huh?” He replied.

“Yes dear” She replied, Ethan’s face dropped hearing this. “Oh son, I know you don’t like me doing this night shifts but…

“Then why are you still doing it?” He asked.

“I want to provide everything you need. I can’t let my baby suffer” she replied.

“working at night is not good mom. I told you I can work after school but you said NO. You’re never home and you get sick almost every month” Ethan said.

“I’m sorry son. I love you so much, bye” She kissed his head lightly.

“Bye mom” Ethan mumbled since he’s still not okay with his mom leaving. Immediately the door closed, he felt lonely. Now he have to sleep alone tonight.

A loud clashing sound could be heard as Lord Smith threw a glass of wine in the wall.

“Who the fuck are you telling me now?” Lord Smith shot a glare at the men before him.

“They came unexpectedly and…”

Lord Smith shot the one that tried to speak.

“Get out there and get my goods, if anything goes wrong and I swear to kill every last one of you!” He roared at the remaining one.

“Yes sir” they all bow and left instantly.

Annabelle who was at the door walked further. She didn’t mind the blood on the floor and stepped on it. She was wearing a comfortable short black dress.

“Can I go with them?” She asked the man who was still fuming in anger.

“No stay, go to your room Annabelle” He said.

“I wanted ask something” She said and Lord Smith look at her.

“I said go to you room!!” He yelled at her but she didn’t flinch. Instead she bow lightly and left the room.

Getting out she met a tattooed guy staring at her with an amusing look on his face. His lips was rosy and he look so handsome with muscular body.

“Hey Anna” He greeted but Annabelle didn’t reply. She walked pass him instead.

“Are you really going to give me a cold shoulder after you haven’t seen me for two years?” The guy asked following her.

“We are not close, what do you expect.. A hug?” She asked, still walking.

“You’re looking good Anna, it’s nice to see you again”

“It’s Annabelle, Only Lord Smith can call me Anna. Watch you mouth Ricky. I don’t mind having a tongue for a coffee” she warned.

That’s what Ricky loves about her. She is just his type. He stop and watch her enter her room.

“Damn, she’s still the same” He muttered.

Annabelle reached for her bag and pulled out a file. It was a Ethan’s details in which she stole from the Chancellor’s office while they were discussing.

Her gaze land on what she was looking for and she smirked.

Ethan’s head was buried on his pillow. His black soft hair was messy giving him a cute look.

A strange sound woke him up from his deep sleep. He opened his lazy eyes and sit up slowly.

“Mom” He muttered, scanning his dark room. The cold breeze made him shudder. He didn’t close his window.

He stood up and went to close it. Yawning he made to go back to bed but his eyes met with someone standing close to him.

“Ahhhhhhh!!!” He jerk away with a scared look. Recognizing the person, he flared up. “What the hell! You almost gave me an heart attack!”

“Strange, you said you’ll help me but yet you decided to leave without telling me where you live”

“That’s because I don’t want you to come into my house in the middle of the night. That’s just creepy!” Ethan shot.

“Creepy is my job Ethan. I don’t have much time” Annabelle said looking around the room.

“Wait how did you get in?” Ethan asked with a frown.

“Through the window”

Ethan eyes widened. “Oh my Gawd! We are on the third floor. Did you climb over?”

“You are overreacting young man. Where is your computer?” She asked in a hoarse voice.

“Uhm, my laptop is over there” Ethan replied pointing his hand towards his system around the corner of his room. She walked towards the direction, grab a chair to sit.

Ethan sighed and look down just to notice he wasn’t putting on any shirt. “Shit!.. why didn’t you tell me I’m half naked?!” He snapped.

“Don’t flatter yourself, I’m not into those things” Annabelle replied staring at the close laptop before her.

Ethan chuckled, he grab and put one of his white shirt on. He turn back to Annabelle and found her staring at the laptop. Wait! She doesn’t know how to operate it?

Annabelle picked up the laptop and raised it to her face. She bagan to stare at it wondering how she is going to turn it on.

“Y…you haven’t seen one before?” Ethan asked walking close to her.

Annabelle raised her head to him. “Yes” she replied and return her focus on the laptop. Lord Smith is strict with her.. no gagets is used in the base. The only person allowed is Bianca.

Ethan frowned having so many questions diving into his head. Where did she come from?

“Here” he bend a little to grab the laptop. She shifted a little seeing they are too close.

She watch him turn it on.

“I can help you..”

“I want to do it myself” She cut in.

“But.. you can’t use it”

“Teach me” Annabelle said.

“Teach? That will take all a whole lot of time. I can help you dig any information this instance and you won’t ever have to come here in the middle of the night” Ethan pouted. Annabelle shot a glare at him and her went mute instantly.

“I wanna sleep.. we have classes to take tomorrow” he said.

Annabelle exhaled looking elsewhere. How is she going to find out about the woman in the picture. This might be really important to her.

Ethan was busy staring at her face. She has full roses lips, dark eyes and cute nose. Her long black hair make her look more unique… But what made her look so different. It felt like this girl before him has faced a lot.

“I’ll teach you” he finally said.

Annabelle’s face lit up for a sec but disappeared instantly.

“Only on one condition” he added.

“Better don’t say what would make me break your bones” Annabelle warned.

Ethan chuckled at her word revealing his dimple. “I wanna get to know you…”

Annabelle’s small phone beeped discontinuing their discussion. Her eyes widened.

“I have to go” she stood up instantly and head towards the window.

“Wait, can’t you wait till morning. It’s pretty dangerous out there” Ethan said standing up to but Annabelle already opened the window.

“Woah wait!!,..” Ethan exclaimed but the girl jumped out already. He looked out and found her on the floor standing already.

“Is she a spider or something?” Ethan muttered.

Annabelle spared him a glance and ran towards her black bike then zoom off.

She got to the base in 10 minutes. Luckily, Ethan’s home isn’t too far from her place.
