Jolene remained quiet as Jaxon drove her home. She slowly looked at the man that had saved her back there, her heart skipped a beat.
His jaw was still clinched, untamed anger emitted from his aura as he fixed his gaze on the road.
“Does your hand hurts?” He asked, his voice tougher than usual.
Jolene down down at her slightly red palm. She had hit Jemima eleven times. Jemima’s face was all swollen red, blood on her lips and nose. The sight was satisfying.
“It stings a little, but its worth it” She replied and Jaxon gave her a brief look before returning his gaze back to the road. “Thank you, for saving me back there”
“I don’t like a thank you with words, considering the fact to you had attacked me twice” Jaxon responded and Jolene blinked in confusion.
“Attacked you?”
“Hmm. First you almost hit my car and yelled at me. Second you peppersprayed my face”
Jolene almost choked on her saliva, her eyes widened like that of the moon. Her face red.
The man with mask she encountered twice was Jaxon!? No wonder his car looked familiar when she visited his place.
“Keep your mouth close cutie” Jaxon said softly, his lips slightly curved.
“I’m so sorry.. I didn’t know it was you. Please forgive me” Jolene bit her lips.
Jaxon sighed. “You’ll have to earn it Jo”
“How?”
“I’ll let you know once it’s time” he responded.
Getting home, Jolene found her father sitting in the living room, a disturb look on his face. His eyes widened in relief spotting her.
“Jo!” He called and watched Jolene rushed to hug him. Rowen froze. That was the last thing he expected.
“Are you hurt?” She asked lightly.
“No, thanks to him. He saved me” Rowen replied, his gaze fixed on Jaxon.
Jolene sniffed back her tears and walked back to Jaxon.
“Thank you again. I promise to repay you somehow” she said and Jaxon nodded. “What about the men in black”
“Don’t worry about them. They are in good hands. Bye cutie” Jaxon winked at her. He gave Rowen on last look before leaving.

The media exploded over Jemima’s incident. The well-known actor Jaxon had instructed Jolene to hit Jemima! Not only was Jemima hit, but she also lost the endorsement shoot she had worked hard for that day.
The media went haywire!
Many began to wonder why Jaxon would save Jolene. Do they have something going on?
Pictures of Jaxon holding Jolene’s face and gazing at her with concern and anger spread everywhere. Many women became jealous.
How could a mere assistant like Jolene get the attention of a man like Jaxon!?

As soon as Jolene stepped into Cassius’s mansion, Tatiana rose to her feet.
“Jojo,” she called out worriedly, approaching her quickly, her eyes filled with concern and anger. She looked like a big sister, worried for her little one.
“Tatie…”
“Are you hurt? Did that bitch touch you?”
Jolene explained how Jemima had hit her.
“She hit me twice, Jaxon saved me, and I hit her back. Eleven times. My hand was beginning to sting, so I stopped.” Tatiana reached out for her hand to check. Her palm was a bit red.
Tatiana’s chest heaved with anger and guilt, her jaw clenched. Jolene never expected to see her this way.
“I’m fine, Tatie,” she whispered.
“Fine?” Tatiana’s gaze met hers, her voice breaking. “You just got bullied and hurt because of me. This isn’t right.”
Jolene glanced at Jaxon standing around the corner with his hands tucked into his pockets.
“Yeah, you won’t tell me how you got hurt for me, just like you didn’t tell me about your father, Jojo.”
Jolene bit down on her lips. “I’m sorry.”
“I should be the one who’s sorry. Come here.” Tatiana pulled her close and hugged her. It took all of Jolene’s strength not to let a tear fall.
Even with her status, Tatiana treated her like her own.
“I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again,” Tatiana whispered as Jolene hugged her back.

The Crystal company managed to suppress the news about Jemima. It was quite easy since the Netizens focused on Jolene and Jaxon.
Daniel walked into Jemima’s ward and found her lying on her bed, facing the wall.
“I’ll talk to her” Daniel said to the worried nurse and sat beside Jemima. His hand reached her shoulder.
“Don’t touch me” she snapped coldly and he quickly removed it.
“Jemie” he called gently. “The nurse said you aren’t eating”
“I want to die” she muttered, her gaze still fixed to the wall.
Daniel sighed. “I know how you feel right now but. I had once told you not to bully those that are not signed in our company”
“She was Tatiana’s assistant. A mere assistant who slapped me eleven times on my face. I can get the scene out of my head and the more it replay, the more I wish to die so leave me”
“You don’t mean that. Do you? I don’t know what is between her and Jaxon but sooner or later, they’ll depart. Jaxon is the powerful Mr. King’s cousin, he can’t be with a mere assistant”
“You were not there”
Daniel knew what Jemima wanted to hear so he said. “Fine, I’ll find a way to sign Tatiana, humiliate her and make sure she doesn’t get the best actress award. You deserve it Jemima”
Jemima immediately sat up, a smile on her slightly red face. She placed a light kiss on his lips and whispered.
“I knew you would help me” Jemima whispered.
Daniel had never hurt his artist before, though he treated Jemima special because he was in love with her.
He reached for the small bruise on her face, anger flashed in his gaze.
“First we have to find a way not to draw the attention of the Kings. I’ll teach Tatiana a lessons for doing this to you my love”
“I want her assistant to apologize to me publicly” Jemima demanded and Daniel frowned. “Can you do that for me?”

“Hi Tatiana. Nice to meet you again” Ciara greeted Tatiana with a huge smile. Tatiana ordered two coffees.
After thanking her Ciara asked. “Why do you want to see me?”
“It’s about Jemima” Tatiana said and Ciara’s smile dropped a little.
“I saw the news about your assistance. I’m sorry”
“Why are you sorry? The news only stated my assistant hit Jemima”
Ciara nodded. “Jemima definitely would have done something. I was so stun to see Mr. Jaxon defending her, it was a bliss news to hear. Jolene is such lucky”
“Does Jemima bully you too?” Tatiana asked. She had planned to go straightforward on this discussion.
“I’m afraid I can’t say anything about Jemima”
“Because of Daniel? Hmm I understand. Isn’t this a good time to get rid of someone who is going to bring the crystal company down? Your eyes tells it all. You’re tired of being dragged around by her. I’m aware about the questions she sent to you during the interview. You didn’t use them, that shows You’re different”
Ciara’s eyes widened. “How did you…”
“I have my ways” Tatiana smiled.
‘The most powerful man in the industry’ Ciara swallowed at that words of Tatiana that rang in her head. Maybe it wasn’t a joke.
“So what do you say Ciara?”

Even after getting a support from Ciara, Tatiana just couldn’t wait to destroy Jemima. She want her humiliated, torn apart and traumatized for touching Jolene.
She felt a hug from behind, she smiled knowing who it was.
“Mr. King, I need to finish cooking” Tatiana said but the man buried his face into her neck.
“I’m hungry. You’re the best food and you’re right before me” he whispered and she chuckled.
“Tomorrow is a big day. I would have keep you busy all night Rebel”
“You’re always naughty”
“And you like it” he bit her ear gently and a soft moan was forced to leave her lips. “You liked it very much”
“You’re a big distraction, yunno” Tatiana chuckled. All her worries faded away.
“Stop blaming yourself about Jolene and stop getting nervous about my company, you’ll get in” he assured and Tatiana’s heart melted. This man know her so much.
She turned to face him.
“I can’t wait”
Cassius drew her close. “I can have you around me all the time”
“Business outside”
Cassius pouted like a kid and Tatiana chuckled.
“Fine, business sometimes” she said and he crashes his lips on hers.

Indigo halted in her tracks when she saw Hudson talking with Lily. She hardly saw him these days because of his busy schedule, and now here he was, chatting and smiling with an artist.
“Ma’am, we…” Indigo’s assistant’s voice trailed off as Indigo approached Hudson.
“Dee,” Hudson smiled when he spotted her.
“Let’s talk,” Indigo said calmly before turning to leave.
Hudson followed her to a quiet place.
“Uhm… I…” Indigo struggled to find the right words. “I’ve missed you,” she confessed.
Hudson stared at her for a long while before responding. “I missed you too.”
She bit down on her lip and nodded. “I… Gosh, I don’t know how to say this, but may I ask… How do you see me?”
Hudson stepped forward. “Someone I want.”
Indigo’s heart raced as he approached her.
“What about you? How do you see me?” he asked, his sweet cologne filling the air.
Indigo took a deep breath before reaching out to his shirt. She pulled him close and claimed his lips. Her heart almost exploded with excitement at the feel of his lips.
When he didn’t respond, she pulled away. “I want you,” she whispered.
Hudson took her by the waist and reconnected the kiss, his teeth gently nibbling her lip in turn. She felt her body ignite.
Just then, someone cleared their throat. They both snapped their heads in the direction of the sound.
Jaxon.
“I’m glad I’m seeing this,” Jaxon said, looking at Hudson. “I almost thought you had a crush on Cutie. I was planning to break five of your ribs.”
Indigo gave Hudson a questioning look.
“He’s talking about Jolene,” Hudson explained.
Indigo chuckled. “Wow, a woman finally got to that cold heart of yours.”
“The same thing happened to the coldest man, Mr. King. Why should I be any different? Enjoy, and please, don’t have a secret wedding. I’d love to drink on that day,” Jaxon winked and left.
Hudson and Indigo’s eyes met, and they smiled at each other.

Daniel watched as Tatiana stepped into the restaurant. Her dress was elegant, her skin flawless. She looked even more beautiful than the last time he saw her.
“Hello, Mr. Daniel,” Tatiana greeted him with a handshake as they sat down.
“Nice to meet you, Tatiana. What would you like to eat?” Daniel asked, making sure his voice was polite and sweet.
“Oh no, my man is waiting for me outside,” Tatiana responded.
Her man?
Daniel’s eyes went to the transparent glass covering the restaurant. He spotted a Rolls-Royce Phantom outside. He swallowed, knowing how much that car was worth. He squinted his eyes, seeing a shadow inside.
He couldn’t see the man’s face or identify him, but he knew he wasn’t someone ordinary.
“Why did you want to meet me, Mr. Daniel?” Tatiana’s question brought his attention back.
Daniel cleared his throat. “My assistant sent you an invitation, and we have yet to receive a reply.”
“If I remember correctly, I have thirty days to decide. I’m still taking my time to think it through,” Tatiana replied calmly.
“But it’s such a huge offer. Our company would treat you well.”
“I know,” Tatiana nodded, a subtle sarcasm in her voice. “If I may ask, is that all?”
Clearly, this man wasn’t just here to talk about an invitation.
“Well, that’s not all.” Daniel’s eyes slightly darkened, but Tatiana smirked inwardly. “Your assistant wrongfully hit one of our artists. I’m asking for her to apologize.”
“You mean the one who threatened my assistant with her father, forcefully took her, and bullied her?” Tatiana asked, her voice calm but with a storm slowly rising in it.
“She needs to. Jemima is a famous artist and…”
“And Jolene is just an assistant? You’re missing the point here. My assistant is like a sister to me. If anyone wants to attack me, attack me, and not my people, because I will not sit back and watch. That’s exactly what’s going to happen. Have a nice day, Mr. Daniel.”
Before Daniel could speak, Tatiana stood to leave. He watched her enter her mysterious man’s car and drive away.
His brow creased as he recalled Tatiana’s last words.
“Jemima,” he mumbled and quickly pulled out his phone to call her.
“Hello?” Jemima’s voice sounded on the other side.
“Where are you?”
“On my way to a party.”
“What? A party? Shouldn’t you be in the hospital?” Daniel’s brow furrowed deeper.
“Yeah, but the hospital is soooooo boring, I just needed some fresh air. How did your talk with Tatiana go?”
“Pretty strange. Jemima, go back to the hospital. Don’t go anywhere.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Just do what I say.”

Jemima, who was on her way, stopped her car and grunted at Daniel’s request. “Fine.”
She ended the call, and her car engine suddenly stopped. She tried to start it again, but to no avail.
“What the fuck,” she cursed, knowing she had checked the car before heading out. She stepped out onto the cold, dark street to check the engine, but a sense of foreboding washed over her.
She looked back at the dark, empty street, fear slowly creeping into her. It intensified when she heard the barks and snarls of hounds. She saw three of them running fast toward her.
Jemima exclaimed and tried to enter her car, but the door wouldn’t open.
She saw them closing in, and her heart almost jumped out of its ribcage. She immediately left the car and ran toward the nearest old building with gates.
As she ran in, she shut the gate, surprised to see a padlock, but she cared less. She used it to lock herself in.
The hounds reached the gates and pounced on them, their intense barks piercing the air, scaring the life out of her. Jemima tripped and fell, her chest heaving hard. She had never been this scared in her whole life.
“Help, someone help!” Jemima began to cry.
“Help?” A voice echoed. Jemima’s eyes searched the surroundings and found a speaker on the side. Someone had planned this! The voice was familiar.
“Oh Jemima, I had a good laugh watching you run,” the voice sounded again.
Tatiana!
“You bitch!” she yelled, but the hounds’ barks reminded her of her situation, and she shrank back in fear.
“Stop this, Tatiana! Stop this!” she screamed. “Just stop these beasts… Fine, I’m fucking sorry! Alright?”
“You’re apologizing to the wrong person. If you want to attack me, attack me and not my loved ones. You will apologize to my assistant in front of the whole media. If not…
“I won’t stop hunting you… The hounds is a small example…
