THE NEXT DAY
Adelaide yawned lazily and stood up from the bed. She smiled when she saw how everyone slept around their dad. She went to the toilet to piss then came back and started waking them one after the other.
“It’s morning already, you guys should prepare for school and work” she said. Soon they all wake up except their father.
“He must be tired because of yesterday’s fun” Noah said and everyone nodded in agreement.
“Dad wake up,” Nicholas said and stabbed him in the back but no response came.
“Dad” Noah called and turned him over, that’s when they noticed the blood on his face and on the bed. They left out a gasp.
“Dad,. what’s going on?” Autumn asked fearfully. Noah touches his nose and feels his breath but he is not breathing, he knows right away that something is wrong.
“Dad, why aren’t you waking up?” Brielle asked. Noah sat on the floor with tears escaping his eyes, he could feel his heart tearing to pieces as what happened dawned on him.
“What’s wrong with dad? Brother” Delaney asked fearfully.
“I think he is dead” he said and they all cried, everyone was busy crying.
The news about Mt Everest dead quickly spread around the country and a lot of people are crying because they know he is such a nice man. Some were cursing Mrs Everest, some even vow to kill her as they mourn his death.
“I can’t believe that nice man is gone”
“I will never forgive that witch”
“What a wicked soul”
“Poor Mr Everest, how is the family gonna feel about this?”
“I wish I can kill that witch myself”
“Her lover should be found quickly, I can’t wait for them to get justice” a lot of comments were coming from the fans.

“What did I just hear on the internet? I mean how did it happen? Is he really dead?” Stanley asked after entering the mansion, the news was still shocking to him, he didn’t even believe it at first but seeing the condition he met the family, he knew the news was true.
“Stanley,my dad is gone” Noah wailed, he was crying like a baby.
“What happened?” Stanley asked as tears also escaped his eyes.
“It’s a long story, I want my dad back,” Noah cried.
“You have to stop crying, you have to be strong as the eldest of the family, you have to console your family, please be a man, you are in charge now” Stanley said and patted his shoulder.
“I know but I can’t just stop crying, does that mean I have lost my father forever” Noah cried.
“Noah pull yourself together, you can’t be doing this” Stanley said. Noah cleans his tears slowly and looks at others, he can see the way they are all crying.
“You have to be strong for them,” Stanley whispered behind him.
“I will” he said and cleaned his tears but another one rushed down immediately.

A black car drove into the airport and the person beside the driver was wearing a face cap with a face mask.
“You will be flying to South Africa, you can stay there till everything goes down then you can come back and plan for your revenge” Brandon said.
“Your mum is in jail, are you gonna do something about it?” Mr Dennis asked.
“I don’t care about her, she ceased to be my mum the moment she abandoned me because of money,” Brandon said.
“But you can’t leave her there,” Mr Dennis said.
“I will take your ticket and passport “ Brandon said and hand it over to him.
“Thank” Mr Dennis said and collected it from him.
“Be careful not to get caught cause I won’t help you then” Brandon said.
“I won’t get caught,” Mr Dennis said.
“That is good for you, “ Brandon said before driving away. Dennis sigh before entering the airport, he went to join the people that were on the queue after adjusting his cap. When it was his turn he dropped his ticket and passport. The lady checked the passport and looked at his face. He quickly looked down so that she wouldn’t see his face. The lady stared at him for a while before giving back his passport. He signed out and started walking toward the plane since people had started entering. He was about to get to the place when he noticed there were cops at the door. They checked everyone’s face before they were allowed to enter the plane.
He stopped walking and turned back but he was noticed by a cop.
“Hey” the cop called and approached him, he stood on the same spot without facing the cop.
“Can I see your face?” The cop asked while taking a gentle step to him but he didn’t respond.
“Turn around” the cops said and touch him. He turned and shot the cop before taking to his heel, the remaining cops pursued him as they also shot at him. He was running very fast but a bullet ram into his arm from one of the cops, he gasped in pain and fell down, they used the opportunity to catch him.
Mr Dennis, you are under arrest for the murder of Mr and Mrs Salvatore “the cops said and handcuffs him, he was dragged roughly out of the airport.
The news about his arrest has spread and the prisoners are watching it on the television.
“Isn’t this the same person you said that he would release you?” One of the prisoners asked Mrs Everest.
“She is such a fool, if I am in a prestigious family like that, I won’t even think of murdering them” another inmate said and they all laughed.
“Shut up, you all,” she yelled.
“You don’t talk to us that way” they said and started kicking her in her belly, she started bleeding but they didn’t stop until they were satisfied.
“You shouldn’t try to act mighty, here you are nobody “ one of them said and they left her laying weakly on the floor.

Jasmine was brought out of the prison, she was looking tattered and her hair is very rough, she has dried blood on her lip and merely looking at her, one would know she is getting beat. She went to sit opposite her guest, a glass separating them.
“So you finally decided to show yourself after all this week” she scoffed.
“I just decided to check on my girl, I hope those inmates are not suffering you that much?” Brandon said.
“Not like you care, cause if you do, you wouldn’t have left me here” she scoffed.
“It’s actually true, I don’t care, I just want to see you” he chuckled.
“So your parents are in prison, what a poor boy, they deserve it though, for using me and putting me in this position “ Jasmine said mockingly.
“The Everests are gonna regret it” Brandon said.
“I don’t think so, you have always fail with your plan, I remember you told me to date Noah in order to do something but everything fail, like when you wanted to spoil the family reputation but you get wife for Noah instead, all your plans fails so how are you so sure this plan is gonna work?” Jasmine asked.
“Just watch, there is a little difference now, before my revenge was for Noah but now I am getting rid of all the Everests, they have to pay for mocking my parents’ ‘ Brandon said.
“What about your siblings?” Jasmine asked.
“I may spare them if they work with me, you know the reason why I abandoned you? You no longer stick to the plan, you forget that you belong to me and were obsessed with marrying Noah, so abandoning you is your fault. We might meet again if you get out of the prison, good luck till then” Brandon said and stood up.
“Since you abandoned me first, don’t get angry that I do the same , just know that if any of the Everests visit me, and you know they will, so if they do, I will tell them your secret, all your plans and who you really are” Jasmine said.
“Are you threatening me right now?” Brandon asked with a chuckle.
“Anyway you see it, just know I will tell them and I mean it” Jasmine said. Brandon sat down in front of her again, he stylishly brought out a pin from his pocket and pricked her on her finger from the little space between them.
“What did you do?” She asked while looking at the little blood coming from her finger.
“I don’t want you to tell them, I am going to do it myself “ he said and stood up, jasmine wanted to talk but can’t, she watched as he walked out of the place, she started gasping for breath.
The cops quickly ran to her aid.
“I think she is having cardiac arrest “ one of the cops said as they called the ambulance, she suddenly stopped moving.
“She’s dead,” the cop said after checking her breathing. They keep looking at her body in shock.

“Miss Jasmine is dead, what the heck is going on today” Stanley said while showing his phone to Noah.
“What happened to her?” Noah asked.
“Cardiac arrest” Stanley said, Noah didn’t say anything.
Their father’s body was brought to the burial ground, they are all wearing black as the priest prays , his body was buried and they all cry as they bid their father the final farewell.

FEW DAYS LATER
Noah enter the mansion and saw everything in disarray, this has been happening since their father was buried, he went to his brother room and saw him lying on the floors surrounded by empty bottles of alcohol, he is obviously drunk, he gently pack all the bottles and keep it somewhere before helping him up, he was reeking of alcohol, he took his to his room and lay him on the bed, he took off his wet clothes, and cover him well with the blanket. he shook his head and went out of his room.
He heard some noise coming from a room and approached it gently, it was the girls.
“You should stop acting like an Everests, you are not one of them,” Delaney yelled.
“You too, you are not an Everests, it was proven with DNA, at least mine was better, I met my dad and he is very rich” Autumn defended.
“My family are rich too, so I don’t know what you are trying to say” Delaney scoffed.
“How much time did you spend with them? They didn’t want you because they didn’t even come for you,” Autumn said.
“You guys have to stop this,” Brielle said.
“Stay out of it” they both yelled at her and she quickly covered her mouth.
“Seriously guys fighting is not the right thing to do” Stacy said.
“Don’t butt into my business” Delaney yelled.
“So your jerky behavior is back,” Stacy rolled her eyes.
“Don’t call me that” Delaney snapped.
“What is going on guys? Why are you arguing?” Noah asked while coming into the room. They ignore him and walk out leaving only him in the room. He sighs sadly before going to his mansion. Their bedroom door was locked so he went to the guest room.

THE NEXT MORNING
The loud noise coming from the main mansion woke the family up, they all went to the sitting room and saw Noah setting the table with the maid.
“We haven’t been eating breakfast together since dad died,” he said. They all sat down and ate silently while the maid packed the plate.

“It seems like you guys have forgotten the promise that you made to dad before his death. Do you think he will be happy seeing the way all of you are behaving? He will never be happy, ” he said.
They all keep quiet and listen to him.
“We shouldn’t turn to a drunkard, we shouldn’t fight each other, do you want people to start mocking us, we are the most prestigious family and we need to remain that way and I will need all your help for that” Noah said.
“Nicholas, we have to work together and help the family,” Noah said.
“I am sorry for my behavior, we are going to do everything in our power to make our daddy proud” Nicholas said. Noah smiled.
“We only have each other now so we are going to make the family work together” Adelaide said and they all hugged each other.
