GIFT OKORIE?
CHAPTER 21
I have a feeling we are not gonna leave this jungle alive.
We finally got across the bridge.
“Cut the rope” Salvador yelled at Ruby who was still holding the broken bottle which was used to save Kira.
“What rope?” Ruby asked.
“The rope holding the bridge” I replied. One of the wolves has already stepped on the bridge to start crossing it.
Ruby ran to the bridge and started cutting the rope but the size of the rope was too big and he was still on one side of the bridge.
The two wolves were now trying to walk slowly to us In ordered not to fall cause the bridge was shaking as a result of the cutting.
“Damn! Is there no more bottles here?” Salvador asked.
“I have one” one of his men answered.
“Then help him jonny” Salvador barked, so his name is Jonny, lol. I still don’t know the name of the black one.

Jonny brought out a bottle of beer from his backpack, he broke it, picked a piece and started cutting the other end of the bridge making it completely impossible for the wolves to move.
When they finally cut off the rope the bridge snapped, sending the wolves down the valley as they holwed in agony.
“Pheeew, that was close” Henry breathed out.
“I can’t believe we are still alive” Bathny jumped in excitement.
Marichuiy smiled at me and I smiled back and held her hand.
“How’s she?” I heard Kiwi ask, I turned and she was staring at Michael and Kira, Michael already sat down and placed Kira on his laps, he checked her temperature and shook his head negatively, meaning she’s not OK.
Kiwi walked to them and bent down, she touched Kira’s forehead with a sad look.
She has such a soft heart, after how Kira treated her, she still cares about her.
“She needs medical attention.
“Well look around you, are you seeing any house not to talk of a hospital” Salvador barked at her. “We need to keep going”
Kiwi shut her eyes for a while, she opened them and stood up, she walked to Salvador. “Why are you so mean” she whispered.
“Excuse me” Salvador asked.
“I said, why are you so mean!” She screamed out loud making everyone to shake in fear well except Salvador, I’ve never seen Kiwi this angry before and it’s all for someone who doesn’t even care about her.
“Can’t you see she needs help or at least she needs to rest…” She continued. “Doesn’t anything touch you, she just battled for her life and all you could say is there’s no hospital, let’s go, why the h*ll are you so mean?” She fired at him.
“OK listen girl if you don’t back away from me right now, you will regret your life” Salvador warned.
“What you gon’ do?, huh, what you gon’ do, shoot me, beat me, what else is worse than this freaking jungle huh?” Kiwi fired.
Salvador grabbed her hand. “If you don’t stop talking to me like that, you will regret it”. He breathed into her face.
Like wind I rushed to him and snapped her hand from his and faced him”if you dare touch her I’ll show you what wickedness really mean you son of bch” I warned as I stared right into his dark angry eyes.
He corked his gun and was about to raise it up to my face when Ricky intervened. “Woaw, woaw, woaw, can we all just take a deep breath and relax, if we keep fighting like this we won’t make any progress” he stated and gently pushed Salvador a few feet away from me.
“Also we need to find a way to help Kira” Marichuiy backed up.
I sighed and apologized to Salvador, he rolled his eyes and walked away a little bit far from us.
“Maybe we should splash water on her, that might wake her up” Bathny suggested.
“Good idea” Marichuiy replied, she brought out her water can, she poured some into her hand and splashed it on Kira but she didn’t move, she laid as rigid as a dead corpse, I was beginning to fear that we had lost her.
Marichuiy splashed the water again but nothing.
“Come on Kira please wake up” Kiwi cried.
“Why do you even care so much” Bathny mumbled but kiwi heard her.
“I care because she’s my friend OK, regardless of what she has done to me, she is my friend and she cares about me too” Kiwi cried out.
Ruby caressed her back to calm her down, I felt like drowning him. I was about to tell him to stop that cause it will out make her uncomfortable but Kiwi sighed deeply and jealousy burned through my veins to my heart.
“I’m sorry kiwi” Bathny apologized, kiwi nodded. “Try again bes” she said to Marichuiy.
Marichuiy splashed the water on her again, we gasped when her eyelashes blinked as reaction to the water being splashed on her.
“Babe, Kira, hey” Michael tried to call her back completely.
She finally opened her eyes and looked up at him. “Michael” she called out and we all jumped in excitement.
“Oh my gsh kira, we thought we lost you” Kiwi cooed and Kira laughed a little and hugged her.
“I’m sorry I made you guys feel that way” she apologized and we all gasped in shock. Did she just……
“Girl did you hit your head on that tree?” Bathny asked.
“Oh please, that I’ve never apologized to you does not mean I don’t apologize to people” Kira waved her off and we laughed. “OK, goody Kira out please, bad Kira welcome back” she added and took a deep breath.
“Are you OK now?” Michael asked her. She nodded and kissed him, everyone groaned at them.
“Umh, if this does not concern you, you motherfkers can back away” Kira fired at us.
“Yep, there she is, the Kira we know is back” Bathny grumbled and we all laughed.
“Well since she’s fine, we really should leave now, it’s not safe here” Ricky informed us.
“Umh who’s gonna tell Salvador that we are ready to go now” Henry asked.
“Not it” everyone chorused before I could even open my mouth. They all turned to me including Salvador’s men.
“What?” I asked them.
“You didn’t say ‘not it’, so you will be the one to tell him, oops sorryyy” Marichuiy stated with one eye closed.
“Evil people” I cursed under my breath and they laughed.
I slughishly walked to Salvador, he was smoking a cigarette, when he saw me, he rolled his eyes and stared daggers at me.
“Hey sir” I waved at him but he just kept his eyes glued on me without making any sound.
“So…” I continued. I turned to look at the rest only to see them laughing at me. I stuck my middle finger up for them and they laughed hard but stopped when Salvador turned to them, he turned back to me. “Umh, Ricky said that this place is not safe and we really need to leave” I stated but he didn’t reply. “As in, he said we need to get out of here now” I guessed for him but he still stared at me.
“OK, listen, I’m sorry for the way I spoke to you before, but you were really mean back there, but even at that I’m so sorry, please forgive me and get us out of here” I apologized. He stared at me for a while as he threw his left over cigarette on the floor, he matched on it to put out its light.
“You can’t be in love with two girls at the same time, you gotta choose one, or perhaps remain single, after all women are devils” he whispered to me and walked out. “Next turn by the right” he shouted at the rest. Everyone picked up their bags and started moving.
I stood their transfixed pondering on how he even got to know and why is he acting all evil when he’s so nice deep down.
“Dude are you coming?” Michael asked me as he held kira.
“Am I supposed to sleep here, if course I’m coming” I replied and two of them laughed and kept walking. I’ve noticed that kira no longer give me that seductive look, I guess she has realized that Michael is the best guy for her. Sweet.
“Can we go” I heard Marichuiy ask as she dragged me forward.
“You are already dragging me so I guess I don’t have much choice” I replied as I followed her. She laughed and hit my head.
