Episode Seven

MYLES POV
My phone rang
“Hello Skyler”. I said over the phone but his voice sounded trembling.

“Dad… Dad”. He muttered almost in tears.
“What’s wrong with Dad?”. I asked

“He’s got a cardiac arrest and he’s in the hospital now”. Skyler said.

“Oh my God, is it our private hospital?”. I asked
“Yes”. He replied and the line went off.
“What Happened?”. Rita asked.

“My dad is in the hospital”. I replied. “Will you come to me with the hospital?”. I asked Rita.

“No, I’m preoccupied with office activities”. Rita turned down the offer.
“I’ll go with you”. Ellen said and I nodded as I and Ellen went out of the office.

We went to parking lot and I drove the car to the hospital… We were both silent in the car…. Thank God she followed me, I could have killed myself.

Dad was laying lifeless on the sickbed when we entered.
“How’s he?”. I asked … “He’s still in coma”. The doctor replied.

“Mom, it’s ok, stop crying”. I patted her and she stood up.??
“Sinc you’re here, I’ll go get something to eat”. She said and left.

I looked at Ellen, she didn’t want to go… Won’t you be on your way? I asked.

“Ohh yes sure”. She replied with a gentle smile and left.
“Did she even care?”. I asked as my dad coughed and I held him.

“Dad, I’m here”. I said as he slowly opened his eyes.
“How’s the company?”. He asked.
The old man has never seized to love his company more than himself…

“Recently, we refused to merge with Quentin’s corporate industries”. I said and he coughed severely.

“What’s wrong dad?”. I asked frightened as I gave him a glass of water to drink..
“Why?”. He asked with a sullen face.

“Rita said we wanted to build the organization together with me”. I said.

“No you have to do what’s right, you can build a successful organization all alone, you need me Quentin’s help”. He said.

“But Rita is one of the largest shareholders”. I reminded.
“I know that but there’s a way you can merge with Quentin’s company”. He said.

“How father?”. I asked
“Get married to Ellen Quentin”. He said and I nodded.
If that was my father’s death wish

I wouldn’t accept

His words disturbed me cause I was damn restless… How could a human marry a peacock… If I don’t heed to his words, I’ll be called a bad son.

I’ll have to make Ellen suffer if I Marry her…. She’ll suffer…. She’ll cry every day and night… Tears of suffering

Skyler’s POV
“I think the plan is working”. Cindy said and hugged me.
“Not the plan, my plan”. I corrected and we chuckled..

“Now the both of them are forced to marry each other whether they like it or not”. I added.

“But Ellen might get affected”. She said.
“But love would fight for them”. I replied.

Myles’s POV
“Arrange for a party and invite all board members of Quentin international company”. I said to Mrs Gwen.
“For what sir?”. She asked.

“Are you dear?… Will you get out of my sight and do what I sent you to do”. I ordered shouting at her.

Was I falling in love with Ellen and was I in love with Rita or I’m just pitying her…. I can never fall for Ellen… A lion can never fall for a peacock.. her pride is affecting her destiny that she can’t think straight… I would never support a human getting married to an animal???
