CHAPTER 28
Jemima was walking down from the stage when someone suddenly blocked her.
Merely inhaling his sandalwood scent, she smirked before looking at his face, and it’s indeed who she suspected. Don Williams.
“You again?” She muttered.
“Long time no see, my lady” he replied, and she scoffed.
“Learn to avoid me in this place, it’ll only take the snap of my slender fingers to kick you out, old thing” she said and pushed him out of the way before walking away from him.
Williams took a sip from his wine, as he stared at her backside, and he smiled.
“Soon enough, you’ll become mine”
“Best” Sloane suddenly caught up with Jemima.
“Sloane, have you seen Maxwell?” She asked.
“Nope, he went out of sight since three minutes ago” Sloane replied.
“Is he dumb? Isn’t he supposed to stay beside me throughout? He’s here as my secretary so what the fk is he doing?” Jemima replied, and Sloane laughed.
“He doesn’t look like a secretary though, he’s more handsome than all the guys in here, so anyone would mistake him for a member, and didn’t you see how the ladies were drooling on him?” She said.
“Don’t tell me you’re one of those ladies” Jemima scoffed.
“Can’t help it, he’s handsome” Sloane replied.
“Oh please!” Jemima rolled eyes and left her.
“Her temper” Sloane chuckled.
She was about to take a sip from her cup when she remembered how Maxwell grabbed her waist earlier.
She smiled before drinking.

HALL BALCONY
Maxwell actually got a call from Francesca, so he went there to pick since it’s the only place that’s less noisy.
“I’m bored at home” she said.
“You can just play with your nanny” Maxwell replied.
“I’ve played with her all my life, so playing with her makes me bored too, I wish mum would play with me instead of crying” she said, and he squinted.
“Crying?”
“Yes, mummy cries in her room whenever she’s alone, I listen to her cries by her door anytime it happens, and I wish she’d allow me to wipe her tears and treat her like a queen” Francesca replied, and he smiled.
“Why would she cry?”
“I have no idea, Dolores said maybe it’s because of her past, and I think the past is connected to me. If the past makes her cry, then I think I understand why she hates me” she replied, and he sighed.
“No matter what, no woman should hate her child”
“But I’m helpless” she replied.
“You promised to wait till she comes around” he said.
“Yes, I’m still waiting” she replied.
“By the way Mell… Can you take me out tommorow? Don’t worry we’ll use my debit card” she said.
“Tommorow?” He said, leaning on the rails.
“Yes, take me to the park and have fun with me” she replied.
“Hmmm…
“Don’t say no, please…” She quickly said, and he chuckled.
“Sure, I’m in”
“Yes! Just come to Utopia Elementary School tommorow by 4, you can snatch my car from my driver” she said, and he laughed.
