She suddenly came to her right sense,, what is she doing?? How can she give out her first kss like that??
She immediately pulled him away ,,,Rowan was confused
” What’s wrong?? ” he asked
” Am sorry Rowan,,I ,,we shouldn’t be doing this. I need to go ” She said and ran off just like that leaving Rowan in a confused state.
She breath out when she got to the main entrance,,, fk she was so stupid, what will he think of her right now?? Just then Michael showed up and she almost gasped, thank goodness she left ,,he would have caught them and even dislike her more,,,,
Michael took a slight glance at her and look away immediately,, she took her lips In and decided not to talk either. She just went her own way.
” Where were you?? I was worried ” Florence said and breath out in relief
” Sorry for keeping you guys waiting ” She said
” do you know what is happening today??” Sharon asked with a smirk
” What is it?? Lisa asked
” Some exercise,,,, running,, can you run??” Sharon asked
” I think I can,,back in the kindergarten, I always run ” Florence said and they all bursted into laughter
” Are you kidding me right now?? Kindergarten?? ” Juliet asked still laughing
” How about you Lisa ” Sharon asked
” Am sorry but running is not my thing,, ” Lisa replied truthfully
” Well,,,,am a runner girl,, ” Sharon joked
” I can really run,,back at home,,I and Michael always run around,,,, he always won though ” Sharon smiled
Just then Vanessa and her two crews appeared,,, Sharon hissed and Lisa couldn’t help but to remember how she is close with Michael.
” Students!!! Are you all ready??” The school coach asked walking in
There were there,, two men and a lady beside them who look kinda boyish but is still beautiful though
” Yes!!!” They all shouted
” It’s just the grade 5 students right??” Lisa asked Juliet
” Of course,,just the grade five ” Juliet replied and there were silence again
The boys on one side while the girls on the other side
” This is how it’s going to be,,,we will have two students in each group,,a boy and a girl. The girl will compete with other girls and the boy will also compete with another. If the girl fail,,,the boy must be ready to win or the group will be disqualified,, we have three rounds. So right now,,,each students will come here to pick a card,,it will tell you the group you are ,,,now!” The coach said and they all started picking the cards in the big basket.
” I got green ” Sharon said trying to check out the guy with green but couldn’t
” Red ” Florence said
” Blue ” Juliet whispered
” well,,it’s white,I just feel sad for the person am gonna get paired up with ” Lisa said with a sigh
” You should look for your partner,, two minutes to do that ” Another coach said and the students all scattered,, in two minutes everyone is with their partner leaving only Lisa behind.
” You don’t have a partner?? ” The lady asked and she nodded
” I think someone is yet to be here,,one card is left in the basket ” A student said
” It’s Michael,,, oh,,he’s here already ”
” Sorry am late ” He said and picked the card
” You don’t need to check,,she’s your partner ”
Michael moved closer to where Lisa is making sure to leave some space between them.
Vanessa was getting really mad ,,,how can she be paired with Rowan??
” Make sure you don’t try any rubbish,,if you decide to fail willingly just remember it’s part of our mark,,” Rowan told her without facing her
” Don’t tell me what to do ” She snapped angrily
Florence was with Nolan and she wanted to ask if he can really run because she’s only trying her best
” You are nervous ” Nolan said and almost laughed
” No am not,,” She replied and zip up the cardigan more to her neck
Sharon seem to be the luckiest,, getting paired with her crush,
” Don’t worry,,I got this ” She said with a wink
She looked up and grinned at Michael who only rolled his eyes
” He’s sure going to fail,,Lisa is worst in this ” She whispered to Gavin
” Wow,,does that mean we have a chance of winning?? ” Gavin asked happily
” You’re no match to Michael,, try coming first in the boy’s race but am sure you can’t ” She snapped
” That’s harsh,,”
” Am the boss in this group,,I can come first but you can’t ” Sharon said proudly
” Cool down, that doesn’t mean you can run with me,,” Gavin scoff
” Now,,we are starting this!!” The coach said loudly
The girls were the first to run,,Sharon was among the first chosen ones,,and then Juliet also,, with other four girls Lisa doesn’t know.
The race started and everyone was yelling,,,, A girl was at the front taking the lead but then suddenly Sharon overtook her
” I trust her ” Michael chuckled happily but suddenly remember Sharon is not the one with him,,he turned to Lisa
” Hey,,,are you a fast runner??” He asked
” No,,,am sorry if you fail because of me ” Lisa said sadly
” You don’t have to feel sad,,the thing is I hate failing and now you must do your best and run fast,,,I can’t just fail because of you ” Michael said rather harsh
” Do you want me to get hurt?? I really can’t do this ” Lisa said
” Damn,why did I come so late?? ” he said and roughed his hair
” You know what?? When doing this?? You just have to focus,,like you’re the only one running ,,,when you see no one than yourself,, you can still manage to come second or third,,,but not the last please,, it’s embarrassing ” Michael said
She pushed him gently and chuckled
” I will try my best ” She said
” Better,,,,oh,,she won ” Michael said and clapped
” Wow,,she’s really amazing,, ” Lisa also said
Juliet came third,,she almost lost her breath
” I told you right?? ” Sharon said to Gavin and he smiled
The rest set was Florence and other five,,,Lisa was not even concentrating on what they are doing, she was busy stealing gazes from Michael,,
” Stop staring at me sweetheart ” Michael said without looking at her,, her cheek turn red and she immediately looked away.
She decided to focus on the girls running,,, she was feeling the urge to laugh,,
” Florence is the last?? Wow,,,” She said
” Don’t end up like that too,,” Michael said
” I wish I won’t,, ” She replied
” Believe in yourself,, come on” Michael said
Finally it was her turn,,and this time Vanessa was there,, she was really nervous,,
Michael on the other hand,his attention was mainly on her and Vanessa, he knew Vanessa is a fast runner but now he doesn’t want her to win,,but there’s no way Lisa can come first,
And then they took off,,,,everyone is suddenly shocked
” Wait,,she told me she’s bad in this right??” Michael asked himself to be sure of what he’s seeing.
Lisa was too far from the others, she was at the front like it was some wind blowing her and then she got to the finishing line,,everyone shouted screaming out her name,
She ran to Michael finding it difficult to breath,
” Are you okay??” Michael asked
” I ,,,I can’t,,,breath ” She said slowly
” What?? Why did you have to run that fast??” Michael asked
” I don’t know,, I really don’t know ” She replied
” Calm down,,you will be fine ” Michael said patting her back softly
She pulled him into a hug,,,,
” This will be better,, ” She said not minding the student starring at them,,
” Are you okay now??” He asked
” Yes,,,am fine ” She replied and moved away from him
Soon it was Michael’s turn,,along with five other boys and of course Rowan,,
” I pray he wins ” Lisa said inwardly and they took off,,in less than a minute they were back but the problem is Rowan and Michael took the first position together.
” Wow,,,,that’s amazing. In that case,, the two will have to run again,,just the two ” The coach said
” Fk,,am feeling sick ” Michael said silently
Rowan smirked seeing that he was already weak,,,,
” Get ready for your lose ” He said with a fake smile
” Your wish ” Michael replied with a sigh
” And Go!!!” The referee blew the whistle and the boys were off
By the time they arrived ,,,,they arrived at the same time
? What’s happening??
? They both won’t wanna lose to the other
? This is complicated
” What are you guys doing?? ” the coach asked
” Are we responsible for that?? ” Rowan scoffed
” You’re going again,,but this will be the last ” He said
” Oh no,,” Sharon said
” No,,,,,,,,I can’t ” Michael said
” So,,you’re ready to give up??” The coach asked and he kept quiet
” I don’t want to fail because of you ” He suddenly remember what he said to Lisa but now he’s going to be the one to make them fail
” Good thing you accept that you’re a loser ” Rowan smiled
” Keep shut ” Michael snapped
” Michael I asked a question ” The coach said
” Okay,,,,last time ” He finally said
” No!!!! ” A voice shouted and they all looked back to see the person
” What do you mean by No??” The lady asked
” He’s really sick ” Sharon said and Michael gave her the ” What do you think you’re doing ” look
” but he didn’t tell us he’s sick,,so how did you know??”
” Am his sister,,,,I know he’s sick ” Sharon said
” Michael is that true??’
” Am fine,,,she’s joking ” Michael replied causing Sharon to scoff
” Good,,,,now get on your track!!”
” You sure you won’t pass out??” Rowan smirked
” Even if I will,,I won’t let you win,” Michael replied
The referee blew the whistle and they ran off,,,,,,to everyone’s surprise,,Michael was taking the lead.
? Oh my God!!
? He really made it!!!
And then he got to the finish line,,, that was all he know before he black out.
