CHAPTER 134

Mrs. Braun turned her head towards him, she scoffed before taking her eyes away.

“Is it about Axel?” He asked again.

“How do you expect me to sleep when my son is angry at me! He refuses to see me, he doesn’t even check up on me!”

“He…. He said he isn’t our son anymore,” Mrs. Braun cried.

“I miss my baby, let’s annul the betrothal please, I don’t want to lose my son,” she continued crying.

Mr. Braun stood up from the bed and strode towards her.

“He’s going to come around, you don’t have to worry. Ariel is the perfect woman for him, he’s still going to accept that fact, nothing else”

“You love her too, you’ve always wanted her for him. So, why the change of mind?”

“I love her but I love my son more! I don’t want to lose my son all because of her, let’s annul the betrothal, Greg… Please,” she begged.

Mr. Braun sighed. This wasn’t the best time to annul the betrothal, he needed her family’s help now more than ever.

“Let’s just give it a little time,” he muttered, placing his hand on his wife’s shoulder.

“Stop crying,okay? I hate it,” he added, rubbing her shoulder soothingly.

NEXT DAY~MELANIE’S APARTMENT***

Axel’s eyes were filled with admiration as he stared at the girl in his arms.

Last night was h’ll for him, she couldn’t stop crying till she fell asleep in his arms.

Right now, her hands were tight around him with her head on his chest. She was clinging onto him as though he’s leaving anything soon.

He raised his hand and brushed her hair to the back. That act of his got Melanie puckering her lips cutely.

He chuckled before leaning closer, he pecked her lips softly.

“I’m never breaking your heart, baby. I know it’s hard but at this rate, we can overcome it. Our love shall always prevail,” he whispered.

He continued staring at her until the ringing of his phone disrupted his attention.

He stretched his hand and took his phone from the nightstand. Aiden was the one calling.

“Hey buddy,” he uttered in his usual deep voice.

“You’re here? With the guys?” His eyes widened slightly.

“Wow, I’ll be out in a minute,” the call ended.

His attention went back to Melanie and he gently removed her hand from his body.

He gave her a lingering kiss on the lips before finally leaving the room.

He walked to the door and on opening it, his friend’s face showed up.

“Hey dude,” Ace smiled as they all entered the house.

“I wasn’t expecting you guys here, I mean it’s still early,” Axel said, closing the door.

“Is it bad to check up on our friend?” Aaron asked.
