CHAPTER 76

Axel entered his room and shut the door gently. He sauntered towards the bed and when he finally got to it, he stretched his hand and got hold of his wallet which was on the nightstand.

He sat on the bed and opened his wallet. He sighed when he saw a little cash left in it, he was not a fan of taking cash around, his money was always in his account but… He couldn’t make use of it anymore.

He threw the wallet to the bed and covered his face with his palm. He looked fine, but deep down, he was deep in thought.

The payment of the tuition fees will be due soon, he could afford to pay it himself and how can he do that when his account was freezed by his selfish father?

At the mention of his father, his phone beeped immediately.

He took it and then discovered that it was a message from his Dad.

He clicked on the message box.

? YOUR TUITION FEES WILL BE DUE SOON, HOW WILL YOU GO ABOUT IT? I’M SURE YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A DIME WITH YOU. MARRY ARIEL AND THEN EVERYTHING WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE ?

Axel scoffed and threw his phone to his bed in anger. Does his Father think he’s gonna buy him with money?

“So lame,” he mumbled.

He picked his phone and then started searching for an agency in need for a model. It’s time for him to work for his money now.

He’d never give in to his father’s demands, never! Not when his heart already belongs to someone else.

Melanie came out of the bathroom, rubbing her hair vigorously with the towel in her hand. She was putting on a bathrobe, she walked to the dressing mirror, staring at her reflection.

*”I love you, Mel”* Axel’s words kept ringing in her ears.

She bit her lips hard. On a normal basis, she’d have contacted Paisley immediately as she doesn’t keep anything from her.

But now, she doesn’t trust anyone anymore. Lauren and Julie seem to be good friends to her, but she still doesn’t know who among them would spread false rumors about her.

As a result of that, she decided to stay low for a while. She just needs to access them before trusting them again.

“Gosh, I’m stuck” she groaned, sitting of the chair.

Her eyes went to her neck and her cheeks flushed crimson red when she saw a glaring hickey on it.

“That bad boy,” she mumbled to herself.

Her phone rang on the nightstand, she stood up and walked to it. She picked up her phone, it was a call from her Mom.

“Hi, Mom,” she smiled immediately as she clicked on the green icon.

“Something is wrong between you and Paisley, isn’t it?” Mrs. Brown asked sternly.

Melanie’s heart skipped a beat. This voice she heard just now wasn’t friendly to the ears at all.

“What are you talking about? Paisley and I…” She bit her lips. Was she going to lie again?

“Paisley has been ignoring my calls which is so unusual. Your Dad called her and it was still the same thing, are you still gonna lie to me?” Mrs. Brown said.

“Mom…” Melanie began with a heavy heart.

“Paisley and I…. We ended our friendship,” she dropped the bombshell.

“What?”

“The night you called, when you heard me crying on the phone… I found her sleeping with my boyfriend,” Melanie muttered.

“Is this true? Paisley did that?” Mrs. Brown asked in shock.

“Yes, Mom,” Melanie sniffed.

“I felt betrayed, Mom. She didn’t even feel remorse, she…”

“You have a boyfriend and I wasn’t aware of it?” Mrs. Brown cuts her off.

“Kids nowadays. I don’t want to hear any trash, come back home tomorrow with your things. And… Send Paisley over!” The call ended instantly.

Melanie sighed. That moment, her mom’s words rang back in her ears.

She should come back home???

Her eyes widened.
