I stared at Asher in anger as he bowed down his head saying nothing.
“I don’t understand what’s up with you these days. The work assigned to you, it was done roughly and I gave you the opportunity to do it again but same result”
“Am so sorry. Am just not my usual self these days” he explained.
“Did something happen?” I inquired.
“At all. It just…am sorry, I will rectify the work” he stated and I nods.
“Am giving you the last chance. Do it right”
I said and dismissed him after telling him to call Avery in.
Avery entered a minute later and bow down slightly.
“You called for me”
“Yeah. The business meeting in two days time, Asher won’t be tagging along again, look for someone else to replace him”
“Will do that. Anything else?”
“That will be all for now…you can leave”
As Avery left the office, I realized I needed a p.a, Avery is doing the work of both a secretary and P.a and she is not complaining.
She have been working with me for two years now and am used to her already. She is hardworking, humble and diligent.
I have a meeting with the ceo ofHolden companies in L.A in three days time but I will be going there earlier with Avery and an employee earlier and pass the night at the hostel.
I would have taken Asher but this past days, his doings in the company have not really been impressive.
Scarlett will also be getting married this week. I would be staying in L.A till that is over.
I felt my heart ache as I thought about it.
‘You are over her, you’re over her’ I said to myself and went back to my work.

Two days later…..
“You would be back next week?” Chloe asked me and I nod my head in affirmation.
She sighs and looked at me..”I know part of this is to avoid scar…”
I cut her off.”not really. Just work am I also need to clear my head”
“Take care of yourself alright and promise to call me everyday” she points her index finger at me.
I chucked. “Sure ma’am”
My private jet is ready already. Avery and an employee of mine, John in it.
“Bye bye” she waved at me and I waved back as I entered my private jet.
L.A, here I come.

[Los angelos]
I jumped up on the bed as we entered the hotel room.
“So I researched about this hotel before I decided we should lodge here. Their services is good and expensive too but hey, I got the money” Annie fanned her self and I scoffed.
I left with Annie after Asher left for work. I had removed my sim and left it at home so Asher won’t be able to reach me.
Annie still thinks Asher is aware am following her.
It a just a week. A week without my abusive husband. A week to explore the world. A week to live my life to the fullest. A week to forget about everything and just have fun.
I don’t care if I would get in trouble later. I don’t care about that now.
Something crossed my mind and I faced Annie.
“Can I have your phone?” I inquired.
“Why?”
“Just give me your phone” I rolled my eyes and she gave it to me.
I went through her contact list and clicked on Asher’s and blocked him.
I know he would try to call her after been unable to reach me and Annie would definitely find out I lied to her so I have no choice but to do this.
I gave Annie back her phone and she stared at me suspiciously.
“What did you do?” She asked checking her phone.
“Am hungry” I said instead.
She huffed.”am going to find out sooner or later. It’s my phone after all”
“Whatever”
After freshening up, we ordered for food and after eating, we decided to tour around the hotel.
“How about we go for a swim?”
I just nods signifying yes. We got to the pool and met men and ladies drinking while some swimming in the pool.
Annie Licked her lower lip. “Am getting one of this men tonight”
“Annie!” I cautioned.
“What?” She shrugged. “Am here to have fun baby”
“Oh my God!, “ Anne exclaimed, her focus on a blonde guy seated drinking.
“Annie, don’t!”
“Three words. He is hot!” Annie smiled.
“Catch you later girlie,.”
With that, she left me alone. Damn Annie!. I looked at the people swimming and just sighed.
I can swim but am not perfect…I decided to sit around and just watch.
I saw Annie already seated opposite the guy and laughing with him.
Her flirting skills is top notch. I half smiled and turned but bumped into someone almost falling down.
I looked up only to see him…Oh My God!
He looked shocked too and opened his mouth slightly and the words that came out of his mouth shocked me.
“Am sorry”..
