Chapter 5

“Just come to your apartment Arabella. If you don’t want things to get messy for you come.”Nina said before ending the call.

She head back to her room and taking her make up stuff. She made sure Gerald was out of the room when she left the estate without being seen by anyone.

She went to a restaurant and apply a bit of make up to look a bit different from the nanny look.

Taking a taxi she got to her apartment and went to take the back exit because of her fans who were around the front entrance wanting to see her.

“Finally you are here!”Nina said as she opened the door to welcome Arabella.

“Tell me what you have to say. Have got to go back to the mansion. I left without anyone seeing me” Arabella said as she took a seat.

“What I have to say is something very important”Nina began

“Then fire away”

“As it turns out you’ve been offered a modelling job by one of the biggest cosmetic company”Nina said

“But am on leave and besides……”

“The boss accepted the deal and he wants you to come back to work ” Nina said cutting her off once more.

“That’s ¢razy! He told me that I will be given a three month’s leave. I can’t do it and …..”

“That’s the least of our worry Arabella. The job issue isn’t the problem.

The problem there is that the company you are going to work with is Gerald Dalton company. You will be working as Ara in his company! ” Nina informed her.

“What!”Arabella yelled as she stood up from the chair she was seating on.

“Turns out Dalton cosmetic are launching a new product and you were chosen to be the face of the product.

Knowing the amount our company will earn. Boss accepted it without consulting you. He knew you would reject it due to your sudden vacation”

“And he is right. I will be rejecting this project” Arabella stated firmly.

“Why don’t we think about this? I know you deserve your break but this will also be a large profit to the company and to you and besides you will get to get more offer if you become the face of Dalton company”Nina cajoled.

“It can’t work! I just can’t quit my job in Gerald’s home. I can’t leave knowing that I might not get the chance again.

Do you know what I had to go through just to get the job. I can’t forfeit it for this”Arabella said.

“Then let’s talk to the director. He will just have to cancel the whole thing”Nina said as picked up her jacket.

“Your going to come with me?” Arabella asked and she nodded.

“Am your manager after all. I have to be there with you” Nina replied which got Arabella feeling touched.

“Knowing that we will lose a lot of money by refusing. Your still willing to support me?”

“I will and besides your three months vacation isn’t a real vacation. You went to get back your daughter which I know and am willing to support you until you achieve that” Nina chipped in.

“Thanks my friend. Now let’s go and give the director our news” Arabella said as they both left her apartment. Taking the back exit to avoid the people in front of her house.

They got to LX ENTERTAINMENT in one piece. Luckily the entrance wasn’t that crowded yet and that’s all due to the school students who were still at school for exams.

If it hadn’t been for their exams. They would be outside wanting to see Arabella and the other artist in the company.

Taking the elevator. They were taken to the CEO office.

“There goes my Lucky star” John Ben. The CEO of the company welcomed her with a smile.

“Well your lucky star is very angry today”Arabella said as she stood in front of his desk.

“Judging from the way Nina keeps on starring at me. She must have delivered my message” John said.

“She did and have come to tell you that I refuse to do it. It’s my vacation.

You gave it to me after three years of hard work. Now you want me to start working again. That can’t do John” She said folding her arms.

“But this is the biggest offer for the company. I can’t simply let it go”He replied.

“Then get someone else. Give it to Jenna. She would surely want it”Arabella said offering the position to her only rival in the company.

“I don’t think that’s a good thing Arabella”Nina mouthed at her.

“Why isn’t it? I can’t take the job and since we are talking about millions here. He should just give the chance to Jenna” Arabella muttered.

“Don’t listen to her Boss. She doesn’t know what she is saying”Nina said quickly.

“What’s this Nina? You said you will support me?”Arabella asked in surprise.

“Am sorry Arabella. I lied” Nina said as she moved towards John.

“The truth is that I was asked to lure you here”Nina confessed.

“What?”

“Right now the CEO of Dalton cosmetic is coming here to see you and knowing that you would refuse if I told you myself. I got Nina to bring you here”John explained giving her a smile.

“You didn’t tell me that the CEO will be here himself?”Nina asked astonished.

“The CEO being Gerald Dalton. You mean he is coming here right now?”Arabella yelled out this question and John nodded.

Arabella and Nina starred at each other silently and knowing what was to come.

Nina yelled out a “Run”

The two took to their heels and opened the door only to see Gerald, who was about to knock standing there.

“Am d.ead” Arabella muttered within her.
