HIDDEN WIFE : CHAPTER 81 – 90

Chapter 85

Author: RACHEAL DENNIS.

RACHEL’S pov.

“.. please fasten your seatbelts, because we’ll be taking off soon” the pilot announced.

As you can guess, we’re already on board and according to what Duncan told me, we’re using his private jet -what a rich bstard!

“Do you want any refreshments?” One of the air hostess politely asked me, with a small smile.

“Uh, not yet” I replied, returning her smile.

She faced Duncan and repeated her question, but Duncan simply shook his head and she left.

Lucas and Fatima on the seats behind us, while nanny Pamela sat on the other side, near the window.

“Sir?” Lucas called Duncan’s attention, and started whispering something in his ear.

While Fatima tapped me, and I faced her.

“Are you feeling uncomfortable? Is your seatbelt too tight?” she asked nodding at my round stomach.

I rolled my eyeballs at her weird questions.

“I’m fine, Fatty”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m super sure” I replied, emphasizing on ‘super’ or else she’s gonna rephrase the question, and ask me again.

She nodded.

“That’s good, because you’re so gonna answer to me for leaving without telling me, I’m not forgetting about it anytime soon” she gritted.

I threw my head back, released a groaned and I pouted my lips, then gave her my best puppy eyes, which she simply scoffed at and waved off.

“I’ve told you countless times to stop doing that because it’s not working on me” she said.

“Please, please don’t get angry at me, I swear I didn’t have a choice a then”

“A choice? You left without telling me because you didn’t have a choice?” I nodded. “Tell that to my @ssh®le!”

I paused and narrowed my eyes at her, then reached for my purse, I pulled out my credit card and stretched it at her.

“Really? You wanna buy my forgiveness now?” she asked.

“Are you gonna take it, or not?” I asked her back, slightly raising my eyebrows.

She stared at my credit card for a moment, before snatching it from me and kssed it, then grinned widely.

“You’re forgiven!” she exclaimed quietly.

“Of course”

Fatima an I have a ¢razy logic about life, we believe there’s nothing money can’t buy -well apart from life.

I could have done this earlier to earn her forgiveness in a second, but I just wanted to negotiate with her because I thought she’d have out grown this logic by now -but sadly, she’s never gonna out grow it, and I’m kinda hating her for it right now.

“I’m so gonna shop until I drop when I get home!”

‘Gonna shop until she drop with my credit card?! She’s gonna spend my hard earned money until she drop?!’ I screamed mentally, and glared at my card as she held it between her fingers.

“How about you rappe my closet when we get ho…”

“Nope!” she cut off my negotiation. “I prefer rapping your credit card because you’re gonna be m®aning so much, baby”

By m®aning she meant, I’m gonna be crying so much.

“You… ”

“I really love to hear you moan” then she winked at me, and smirked wickedly.

We both started glaring at each other, and her smirk kept getting wider, she won’t be so cocky if only she knows I really wanna $tr.angle her to de.ath, right here and now.

“Ahem!” Duncan cleared his throat, and interrupted our glaring contest. “What are you girls talking about?” he asked.

“Nothing!” I snapped at him, then glared at Fatima once more before turning away from her -I swear, I’ll steal her credit card and get back my money.

“We’re about to take off, are you gonna feel nauseous?” he asked.

I gave him a strange look. I was about saying something, but the pilot’s voice interrupted me.

“This is a reminder, please fasten your seatbelts because we’re taking off in five minutes, and for safety reasons, please turn off all your electronic devices -which include your phones and laptops!” the pilot announced.

We should turn off our phones? Funk, I’ll be so bored.

“Don’t worry, your husband is here” Duncan whispered in my ear. “I can be very entertaining, if you know what I mean”

I felt his fingers drawing circles on my lap while he was saying those words, and I gently pushed his hand away, because I already understood the message he’s trying to pass on.

“No, thank you” I replied and gave him a tight smile.

“Alas, my good wasn’t appreciated” he sighed out.

He quickly helped me with my seatbelt and made sure everything is alright, before fastening his seatbelt, then he turned off his phone and laptop.

“Should I hold your hand for the take off?” he asked.

“No, I’m good”

“Are you sure?” he asked again. “You know some people tend to be nervous during take offs” he explained further.

I narrowed my eyes at him, then I saw sweat forming on his forehead, and his lips were quivering slightly as though he’s a kid who’s scared of something, that’s when I came to the realization that he’s nervous -he has aerophobia.

But why would he be aerophobic? Hasn’t he been traveling by jets during his tour around the world? Isn’t he supposed to be used to flying on air by now?

Without saying another word, I clasped our hands together and gave him a gentle squeeze.

“What…”

“I just realized I’m scared during take offs” I cut him off, and gave him a smile.

He looked down at our hands and smiled appreciatively back at me.

“Thank you, my heartbeat” he said.

“It’s nothing” I replied, wondering who’d been holding his hand during take offs all these years, it must be Lucas.

He leaned closer to me, and placed a kss on my right cheek.

“This is why I love you unconditionally, you understand me even when I don’t have to say a word”

“I love you too”

Then the jet started taking off, and he gripped my hand tighter.

Moments Later

We were just a few minutes on air, but my eyelids wouldn’t stop twitching as they were getting heavier with each passing second.

I couldn’t resist the temptation anymore, so, I rested my head on Duncan’s shoulder, and was about dozing off when Asher suddenly crossed my mind, and I raised my head at once -every wish of falling asleep vanished that instant.

“Asher” I whispered to Duncan, as I’m scared of what his (Duncan’s) reaction would be, because saying Asher’s name would definitely remind him of what Asher’s done to me and our son.

But he pretended as though he didn’t hear me, he reached for his laptop that was on the seat in front of us, and turned it on, then started typing on it for a few seconds before he began playing a.. game?!

I tugged on his shirt to get his attention, but he simply hummed in response.

“Asher” I repeated myself.

“Huh?” he asked, as though he didn’t hear me the first time.

I gulped and sighed, then rephrased my question.

“What about Asher? What did you do with him?”

He stopped typing on his laptop, and faced me with a deep frown.

“I haven’t done anything with him” he answered “Yet” he added as he clenched his jaws angrily.

He hasn’t done anything with him yet? What’s that supposed to mean?

“He’s one of the things I’m gonna be getting rid of once we get home” he said.

One of the things he’s gonna be getting rid of?
Well, I’d absolutely refer to Asher as a thing after what he’s done, because no human in their right senses would wanna hurt the woman they claim to love.

Hold on, did he just say get rid of? Doesn’t that mean he’s gonna kll Asher?

“You wanna kll Asher?” I asked to confirm my thought.

He threw me a glare immediately I mentioned Asher’s name, I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I could see flames in his eyes and the desire to kll hidden in his blue iris.

“Stop saying his name” he growled.

I nodded quickly.

“Are you planning on klling him?”

“Yes” he answered curtly.

“Why?”

His eyes narrowed at my question.

“Why?” I nodded. “Because he doesn’t deserve to live, I’ll make him pay for hvrting my son!”

His voice was harsh, and I couldn’t help but flinch back slightly.

“You can’t kll him” I said in a small voice.

He raised his brows at me questioningly.

“And why can’t I?”

“He.. he.. he..”

I don’t even have any words to say in his defense, because his actions has left him with no chance of redemption from Duncan’s wrath, but I don’t want him to d!e.

“My heartbeat”

He shut down his laptop, and dropped it back on the seat in front of us, then reached for my hand.

“I’m sorry, because I’m not gonna spare him this time, no matter what you’re gonna say”

“But… ”

“Listen, he wasn’t gonna spare our son, and for that he must pay!”

I shook my head in disagreement.

“He truly deserve to d!e, but can’t we spare him?”

“No!” he rejected my request firmly, with finality in his voice.

I sighed, snatched my hands from his and helplessly leaned back on my seat.

I mean, Asher’s a dkhead, but he did sheltered me when I was desperately in need, and I can’t repay that little favor of his with hatred -even putting God aside, mother nature (karma) will be super mad at me.

“And what’s that expression on your face supposed to mean? Is that pity I’m seeing?” he asked.

“Duncan, don’t kll him.. please”

His eyes narrowed even more, and it seemed like the flames in his eyes are increasing.

“He was nice to me at first, he accompanied me to every antenatal and every therapy session…”

“Wish I would have done if you hadn’t left home” Duncan cut in. ” And besides, he was being nice to you because he has an ulterior motives towards you!” his voice’s slightly raised by now, and we kinda caught nanny Pamela’s attention.
