TWO HOURS LATER

Georgia fluttered her eyes open

“Not again”
she mumbled

A young man in a white coat, obviously a doctor, the same man she saw outside walked up to her bed

Damien stared at Georgia for a long time that got Georgia wondering what was wrong with her face or her body

“I fainted again”
Georgia said to no one in particular

Damien nodded

“You did and the same will be a repeated occurrence if you continued stressing your body”

Georgia felt confused

In the past, she had stressed a lot but why now, the fainting started?

Damien saw the confusion in her eyes and he sighed

Smiling, he looked directly to her eyeballs

“You’re pregnant Georgia”

I fainted again”
Georgia said to no one in particular

Damien nodded

“You did and the same will be a repeated occurrence if you continued stressing your body”

Georgia felt confused

In the past, she had stressed a lot but why now, the fainting started?

Damien saw the confusion in her eyes and he sighed

Smiling, he looked directly to her eyeballs

“You’re pregnant Georgia”

“You’re pregnant Georgia”

The sentence kept repeating itself in Georgia’s head over and over even after Damien had said it

She looked at her flattened belly and subconsciously, her left hand went down to settle on her belly rubbing it gently.

Her eyes glistened with tears

Why did the baby have to come now?

Why now? in the heat of all of these?

Dylan is still fighting for his life and she wasn’t in a very stable state.

Dylan’s mom hated her now and blamed her for her son’s misfortune.

Infact, Dylan and she hasn’t even gotten married yet, their relationship had just begun.

What was she going to do?

The thoughts alone brought headache and she didn’t know when more tears fell from her eyes to race with each other down her cheeks.

“Hey, Georgia, I would advise you think less of what’s going on around you right now.

Dylan is strong, he will survive this but for now, you have an extra life to fend for”

Damien advised

If it were any other person, his concern wouldn’t have been that much to how he felt for Georgia right now.

Dylan is his buddy and Damien knows how crestfallen in love Dylan is for Georgia.

That is why he must take it upon himself to take good care of Georgia till Dylan wakes up.

Georgia thought, Damien made sense

Even if it was just a tiny thing growing in her belly right now, she must treat it well.

Georgia didn’t know this but gradually, the mother instincts had started to kick in.

She wanted to thank Damien but she became nervous

“Ha-Have you told anyone else about this?

She asked in anxiousness, she just prays, he hasn’t told anyone yet

Damien shook his head
“No, you and I are the only one who knows”

Georgia sighed in relief
Thank God

“Please can you not tell anyone about this?

Georgia pleaded and Damien frowned in confusion

“Why?

He couldn’t understand why she would want to hide something as this, besides, this was pregnancy they were talking about, sooner or later it will come to the limelight.
