•LAS VEGAS•

Ophelia couldn’t believe her ears while her private investigator, Parker, told her he has yet to find anything about Kristin.

“What do you mean you can’t find anything about her? What’s so hard about finding something about one woman?” Ophelia roared at Parker over the phone.

“It’s hard because I don’t know where I will start from. It would have been an easy task if I knew where she came from. She is not from Vegas and it makes it hard to dig into her personal life”

“Keep searching and don’t get tired of searching! That’s why you are being paid!” Ophelia shouted and ended the call in Indignation.

A maid approached her.

“Ma. Ophelia!”

“What?!” She hollered, making the innocent maid flinch.

“Sir Richard is here with his wife” The innocent maid informed her.

Ophelia took in a deep breath in and out before leaving the room, and she met Richard and Kristin with Julio.

Seeing how Kristin was elegantly dressed expensively, Ophelia became determined to find out if she is an heiress or a commoner who Richard transformed into a classy woman.

“Oh my! You’re finally here” Ophelia faked a smile, but Richard could see right through her.

He has known this scheming woman for twenty years now, and he knows she was just putting on an act.

There’s no way Ophelia will smile sincerely at him, cuz all she wants is his downfall, and he is always ready to shield himself anytime she chooses to strike.

“Won’t you at least give your mother-in-law a hug? Are you that badly trained?” Ophelia sarcastically asked.

“She doesn’t need to hug you cuz you might transfer your bad odor to her” Richard said, with his hands on Kristin.

Kristin just kept quiet, because Richard has asked her to do so, before they came here.

The dark expression on Richard’s face scared Ophelia, but she covered it with a smile.

“So where are you from?” Ophelia directed the question to Kristin. She wanted to use this opportunity to know where Kristin came from, so it’d be easy to dig into her personal life.

“We aren’t here for a question and answer, Ophelia. You have seen my beautiful wife, let it end there” Richard shot her a deadly glare, such that OphelIa didn’t know when she sat down on the dining chair.

“Let’s eat” Julio smiled at both Richard and Kristin. He knew his wife was a troublemaker, and that’s why he didn’t interfere.

Ophelia admits that she was afraid of Richard, but her stubborn mindset won’t allow her back out from Richard’s life.

After they had dinner together, Kristin excused herself to use the restroom. She was led to the restroom by a maid, while Richard sat with his dad, talking about business.

Kristin came out from the restroom, ready to join Richard, but Ophelia blocked her path.

“How much did Richard pay you to act as his wife?”

“I don’t know what you are talking about”

Ophelia faked a laugh and said; “I am sure you know what I am talking about. Richard hates women and there’s no way that devil will want to be married to you.

You both are putting on an act to stop the public from believing that he is gay, right?” Ophelia asked, walking closer to Kristin.

Kristin remembered Richard’s words of not showing her weak side to Ophelia, and she smiled.

“Just a piece of advice, it’s better not to step your leg in a place you’re not invited. You’re getting old, Ma. Ophelia, and high blood pressure is real” Kristin smiles at her.

“Are you insulting me?” Ophelia raged.

“It’s just an advice, but if you take it as an insult, then receive it wholeheartedly”

“How dare you speak to me in that manner?!” Ophelia roared, raising her hand to slap Kristin, but before her hand landed on Kristin’s face, Kristin caught Ophelia’s hand, twisting it.

“Let go of my hand!” Ophelia cries, but Kristin added pressure on how she was twisting Ophelia’s hand.

“Hashtag, never raise your filthy hand on Richard’s wife!” Kristin railed.
