CHAPTER 14
Esmeralda walked in with a big smile on her face captivating almost every guest
In her hand was a big painting covered with a white linen
Esmeralda dropped the painting on a painting stool before facing the audience
“Hello to you all,my name is Esmeralda Watson,year 3 student” she paused and took a deep breath
“In front of you was the painting I had made to celebrate the 50th anniversary, before I will show the painting to you, there is something I want to apologise for” she said looking at the guests reaction
When I was making this painting,I had mistakenly prickled my finger and my blood had dripped at the edge of the painting before I realized it” she added and blink her misty eyes innocently
? Awwn,so good of you
? she is really hard working like I heard
? Just to satisfy the school, she prickled her finger, imperial is really lucky to have a student like her
Class 3 had a scowl on their face as they listen to the guests comments
“Who suddenly found Esmeralda an eye sore like I do” Mary said staring at Esmeralda hatefully
” I thought I was the only one” Becky replied sipped her coffee
” She is really an eye sore” Xavier agreed
“For me I found her behavior a pretense” Tamara shrugged her shoulder as she licks her lollipop
“You should all stop, The show is about to begin” Tiffany who had been quiet earlier spoken
“Show? What show? They chorused looking at Tiffany
“You will find out soon,” she replied with a mischievous smile
” Whatever” Mary rolled her eyes and they all turn their eyes to the stage
“I’ll open the painting now” Esmeralda said and walk to the painting
She remove the linen slowly till the painting became revealed
Gasps filled the whole hall as they all stared at the beautiful painting in front of them
? This is so… So.. mesmerizing” one of the mother said in awestruck
” Really wonderful” another commented and clapped while everyone joined in including the principal who was grinning ear to ear
Yuna was not left out, she was really proud of her daughter
Even though Esmeralda is not her real daughter, she never regretted choosing her over her own biological daughter
And as for Tiffany? She really regret having a dumb daughter like her,it is good that nobody knew the truth about Esmeralda,or else people would have been shaming her with useless Tiffany
Meanwhile as Esmeralda was being complimented by the guest, class 3 had a complicated look on their faces
They stared at both Tiffany and Esmeralda
“Ok. Ok what is going on here? Xavier asked confusedly
” That’s the show am talking about” Tiffany replied with a mischievous smile
“We can just return the favor of what miss Gianna did in double folds” if you understand what I mean” She added with wink
It didn’t take a long time for the rest to realize what she meant
“Of course we do” Xavier and the rest of the guys giggled
“You are such a bada$s Tiffany,so you aren’t a saint as well” Arturo another boy from class 3 said to Tiffany with a teasing smile
“Am a bada$s bch! Tiffany sang and they all laugh
” Now let’s make this show more interesting” Mary clapped her hands like a baby ready for fun to everyone’s amusement
“Creepy” Arturo thought in mind
“Thank you all for liking the painting, I’ll_
Esmeralda hasn’t finished talking when Xavier cut in loudly
“Student Esme, how many candles did you burn to make this painting,it must be really hard! Xavier asked looking innocent
“It’s nothing student Xavier,as long I was able to produce a good results, it doesn’t matter” Esmeralda chuckled smiling proudly
” Good results? You can only call it a good result if you were the one who paint it yourself” Tamara yelled as she stood up from her seat
? What???
?She is not the painter
“What did you mean?? Are you trying to slander me?? Esmeralda yelled angrily
On hearing that,her daughter was about to be slander, Yuna turn to Tamara to give her earful when the principal interrupted
” Student Tamara,I know it was wrong of us of not allowing class three to participate in any presentation but that doesn’t mean you should start slandering your mates! The principal scolded Tamara angrily
“Principal we aren’t so low to slander our mates because of some stupid presentation,we are only trying to clarify somethings here” Becky defended Tamara and face Esmeralda
” Student Esmeralda are you sure you are the one who drew the painting? She asked calmly
Esmeralda on the other hand was panicking in her heart already
“Did Tiffany told her mates about the painting? She thought in fear but few moments later she regained her senses back after ensuring herself that Tiffany was too dumb to revealed the truth
“Student Becky, you know dragging someone without an evidence is an offence, what evidence do you have to prove that am not the painter? Esmeralda asked raising her voice with confidence
?What is going on here” The guests started murmuring among themselves
Yuna also was getting confused with the drama going on
“We don’t need evidence to prove that you are not the painter, everyone in class three knew that the real owner of the painting is Tiffany Watson, your own sister” Mary revealed the truth
Gasps filled the whole hall upon the revelation
?”Esmeralda is not the painter but instead her own sister is the real painter
?”Then why did she take credit for something she didn’t work for
?”She is so shameless” The guest murmured loudly as they throw disgusting look at Esmeralda who had gone numb
Tiffany on the other hand acted like she was scared but inside her , she was smiling victoriously
She could feel gazes of the guests on her and she knew it was time to add fuel to the fire
“Mary what are you saying? My sister is the owner of the painting
“Don’t try to cover up for her, she doesn’t deserve it! Tamara scolded Tiffany before she could finish her sentences
“Am not covering up for her,if my sister says she is the owner of the painting then she is the owner,who am I to refute her? After all this is not the first time” Tiffany replied with a sad smile
??, What did she mean by this is not the first time
? Does this mean that this is not the first time she is painting for Tiffany
?Am sure Esmeralda used to bully Tiffany to make her do things for her
? She is maltreating the poor girl just because she is from countryside
?I heard the Watson does not care for her,it seems like they prefer this white lotus
Yuna and Gianna sat rooted in their seat without defending Esmeralda,they were too embarrassed to do that
Seeing
“Please stop insulting my sister, she is not at fault” Tiffany shouted and burst into tears
“Am sorry sister, it’s all my fault that the truth is out, please don’t punish me! She cried out and knelt down shocking everyone
? Just how cruel can this Esmeralda be? It’s crystal clear that Tiffany was scared of her
“Get the sh!t up Ann! Tamara forced Tiffany up
“Why are you the one apologizing when she is the one that wronged you! She yelled at Tiffany with her chest heaving up and down
“To think that class three was known as the class full of dumb students but at least we never took credit for something we never worked for” Tamara scoffed
“Shame on the entire class one and shame to that teacher who thinks that her students are much more better and greater than all students in the entire school and shame to the mothers that look down on students who aren’t better as their own children!!
She spatted angrily before leaving the hall dragging Tiffany with her while the rest of the class three followed behind
Esmeralda knew she was done for,her solid built reputation had just been ruined in a day
She was too weak to bear the consequences of her actions, there’s only one way to escape
As everyone were still quiet after being scolded by Tamara, but a loud thud from the stage got their attention immediately
A gasp escape their mouths as they saw Esmeralda laying unconscious on the ground
