Chapter 12
“Noel, I need your help” Austin said
“My help? How do you need my help?” Noel asked a bit confused
“Yes it’s with Gray”
“What’s wrong? Is he okay?” Noel asked
“He is okay but not completely okay”
“Then what’s wrong with him?”
“Before I answer your question,are you in love with Gray? Do you love him?” He asked and she blushed
“Yes” She answered and bent her head
Austin smiled
“Then you’re his savior”
“Wait! What?” She arched her brows
“Gray is broken. He doesn’t believe in love anymore. He has gone through a lot in his life leaving him traumatized. Gray was never this cold towards everyone. He was once a lively and jovial guy who loves smiling,making other people happy and playing funny pranks but something happened that changed him”
“What happened?” Noel asked,giving him her full attention. She was finally going to know what happened
“He was left heartbroken by his fiancee. I don’t wanna go into details but he was abandoned on his wedding day”
Noel gasped and tear drop trickled down her cheeks
“H©rrible right?” Austin asked sadly
“That’s worse than horrible. I can’t believe he went through all this. I would have ki!led myself if I were in his shoes. How long has it been?” Noel asked,fighting her tears
“Two years”
“That’s so sad. He must have loved her alot”
“He did love her but I want him to forget about her. I want him to move on with his life and I’ve come to realize you’re the only one that can mend his broken heart”
“What do you want me to do?” Noel sniffed
“Noel please I want you to fix gray’s heart to it’s normal place, fill his heart with everlasting joy and perform anything that can make him laugh and forget his sorrows” ?Jasmine Coker made this line?
“I’ll try my best. I will do whatever it takes to make him smile even if it means turning myself to a fool before him” Noel said confidently
“Thank you so much. I’ll also help you in any way I can” Austin smiled
“Thanks”
“You can go now” Austin said
She stood up,wiped her tears and composed herself before stepping out. Austin smiled in relief. He was happy he finally found someone willing to help Gray recover.

Noel walked back to the office and saw Teresa mopping the floor while Gray was busy on some papers. Teresa shot her a glare but she ignored. She wasn’t in the mood for trouble now. She sat down and faced Gray
“I’m back sir” She said
Gray looked at her and noticed something was off. She wasn’t her cheerful self
“Are you okay?” He asked
“Yes I’m fine. I’m just having a little headache” Noel said
“Maybe you can get some paracetamol from the first aid kit” He said
“Okay” She stood but he stopped her
“Sit down. Teresa go get Noel paracetamol from the first aid kit” Gray ordered and Teresa frowned
“Me?” She asked
“Do we have any other Teresa in this company or in my office?” He asked giving her a sassy look
“No but_”
“You know how much I detest disobedience. Do what I ask you to do now!” Gray snapped and Teresa flinched
“Okay okay. I’ll go get it” She said and stepped out of the office

Teresa walked to the equipment store to get the first aid kit and bumped into Silvia.
“Why are you looking like someone who got drenched on a rainy day?” Silvia asked
“I’m so angry I feel like tearing someone apart” Teresa said
“What’s the reason behind your anger?” Silvia asked
“It’s Noel. Ever since she stepped her miserable feet into this company,things have changed. First she stole my job now she made Gray turn me to her servant by sending me on errands for her”
“Same here my sister. Do you know she almost beat me up today? Just because she came late to work and I asked her why”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes. I’m sure she has used something on him. Mr Gray was never like this. Can you imagine he allowed her use his private elevator yesterday?” Silvia said
“Oh my gosh. We need to do something about this” Silvia said
“What do we do then?”
“I’ve been thinking and I think I have a plan” Silvia said
“Okay tell me”
“Come closer” Silvia said and Teresa came closer
Silvia whispered something into her ear and she smiled
“That’s a brilliant idea. That will surely get her kicked out of the company for good” Teresa said
“Yeah. See you at lunch” Silvia smiled and left
Teresa smirked and took the first aid kit to the office. Gray asked her to get water from the dispenser and she obeyed. Noel took the pills and Gray asked her to rest her head. She did it and slept off.
Teresa clenched her fists in jealousy witnessing the affection Gray showed Noel. She finished cleaning up and left the office.
Gray watched Noel as she slept. He admired how cute she was and his heart stirred. He looked at how peaceful she was sleeping. When she awakes now,she’ll start frustrating him. He chuckled at that thought and poked her forehead gently
“Troûblesome lady” He muttered and continued working
She woke up later and still saw him working
“Don’t you ever rest?” She asked
“Nope” He answered
“How do you still keep your muscles intact when you’re always busy? You should have developed a pot belly by now” She teased
“I work out” He answered
“Oh. No wonder”
“No wonder what?” He asked
“People that work out are always annoying” She replied
“Annoying? Have you observed yourself? You are the complete replica of annoying” Gray said
“I’m not annoying. I’m cute” She smiled sweetly watching to see if he’ll smile too but he didn’t
She rolled her eyes. This wasn’t gonna be easy
“Cute? No you aren’t” He teased
“Yes I am. You don’t know that”
“Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” He said
“So who is the beholder? You?”
“Exactly”
“Pfft”
“What was that?” He glared at her
“Nothing. I’m hungry” She rubbed her tummy
“You’re such a foodie”
“No. I haven’t eaten since morning” She retorted
“Now you’re lying” Gray said
“Hmph” She folded her hands and pouted
“Okay. Go to the cafeteria” He said
“Okay” She smiled and stood up for the cafeteria while he shook his head

Noel met the lunch lady and took some rice with chicken sauce. She held the tray and sat on an empty table enjoying her meal. Most of the female employees there glared and gossiped about her.
“Hi”
She turned to see a lady with blonde hair and beautiful stature standing before her holding a tray of food.
The lady was slim and very beautiful. From her dressing and the name tag, you’ll know that she is the assistant manager.
“Hello” Noel smiled at her
“Can I sit with you?” The lady asked
“Sure” Noel replied and she sat down
“The name’s Cassie. What’s yours?”
“Noel”
“Nice meeting you Noel” Cassie smiled
“You too. What a coincidence,we ordered same lunch” Noel said
“Yeah. I didn’t even notice that” Cassie said and they laughed
They gisted for a while before Noel went back to the office.

Scarlet had finished her work for he day and was about stepping out when Mr Harry called her back
“Scarlet, I’d like to have a word with you” Mr Harry said
“Okay sir. I’m all ears”She replied
“It’s about Noel”
“I’m sorry for her behavior this morning. It’s just that she is an overactive lady” Scarlet thought otherwise
“No it’s not that. I like her straightforwardness”
“Okay thank you sir”
“I like her and I want to know more about her. Can you please tell me a bit about her background?”
“Well,I’ll tell you the one I know. She is the first daughter of Mr and Mrs Patterson. The couple that own the bakery we normally patronize. She is jovial,friendly and very sociable. She is also hyperactive”
“Hmmm,how old is she?”
“She is 22years old sir”
“That’s interesting. I think I’m in love with her” Mr Harry smiled
“In love with her?” Scarlet asked
“Yes and I need your help”
