” Why don’t you stay in my room tonight? I asked.
” Nathaniel” she called.
” Please” i pleaded.
I just want her beside me.
” Uhnmmmm… Am sorry but I can’t” she said not looking at me.
” Why? I asked.
” The kids are waiting for me, I will to put them to bed” she said.
I smiled.
” Is that just the reason you can’t stay tonight? I asked.
” Uhmmmm…what if the kids see us together in the same room? She arched her brow.
” They saw us together in your room, so?
” Not that, sleeping on the same bed” she said.
” You are their mum and am their dad so?
” Nathaniel…I..
” Mum” we heard the kids yelled.
” I need to put them to bed” she said climbing the stairs.
” Am coming with you” i said.
We got into the kids room.
” Dad, you are here? Mabel asked.
” Uhmm.. yeah” I said.
” Kids let’s take our night shower” rose said.
She took the kids to the bathroom.
My phone rang.
I excused myself from the room.
I picked it up.
?Rose ?
I got the kids dressed in their night wear.
Where is Nathan?
” Mum, thank you so much” angel said lying on the bed.
” For? I arched my brow.
” For everything,” Mabel said.
I smiled.
” Now go to sleep” i said.
” Goodnight mum” Angel said.
I smiled.
” Goodnight my Angel” i said kssing her forehead.
” Goodnight mum” Mabel said sleepily.
I smiled.
” Goodnight my princess” i said kssing her forehead.
I watched them drift to sleep.
I got into my room and yawned tiredly.
I really need to sleep.
My bags are already in my room.
I wonder who took them in.
I got into the bathroom.
Freshen up and changed into my night wear.
I climbed on the bed.

I got back into the kids room hoping to see rose there.
But I met only the kids.
They are fast asleep.
I kssed their foreheads and left their room.
I got into my room and freshened up.
I got into my bed.
But I couldn’t sleep.
Rose kept appearing in my memory.
I just wish she is here beside me.
I just don’t want her out of my sight anymore.
I got out of my room heading to her.
It is either i sleep in her room or she sleeps in my room.
I knocked on her door.
” Yes, who is there? She asked.
I opened the door and met her writing in a book.
She closed it and hide it under her pillow.
” Nath… You here? She asked.
She got up from bed coming to me.
” What are you doing here? She asked.
” Am here for you” i said.
She looked at me.
” Rose why don’t you just stay in my room” I said.
” I already told you” she said.
“Since you don’t want to stay in my room, why don’t we sleep together here? I asked.
She gasped.
” Sleep…to.. together here? She stuttered looking at her bed.
I smiled.
” What are you thinking? I asked smiling.
“Uhmmmm… It’s nothing” she said.
” So what do you say? I arched my brow.
She looked at me.
” Nathaniel..
” Please rose, I just couldn’t sleep” i said.
” Why? She arched her brow.
” I just don’t know” i shrugged.
” So please” I pleaded.
” The kids…
” Just don’t worry about the kids” i said.
” Uhnmm…okay, I will sleep in your room just tonight” she said.
” Really? I beamed.
She nodded her head.
She looked at me.
I smiled.
We got out of her room.
We got into my room.
” Are we sleeping on the bed together? She asked pointing at the bed.
” Yeah, any problem? I asked.
” No no no” she said.
” Okay then let’s go to sleep” i said.
She walked slowly to the bed.
She climbed on it.
I climbed on it too covering her up with the duvet.
I smiled at her.
She forced a smile.
” Is she scared?
” Rose, trust me I won’t do anything, I just want you beside me” i said looking at her.
She nodded her head.
I placed her head on my chest.
” Goodnight” i whispered into her ear.
” Goodnight” she said.
The_next_morning.
? Rose ?
I woke up.
I felt someone grip around me.
It is Nathaniel.
I slept in his room last night.
He is still asleep?
I decided to remove his hand gently from me.
He held me tighter.
” Where are you going? He asked.
” I..I..need to attend to the kids” I said staring at him.
He opened his eyes.
” Good morning” he said with a smile.
” Good morning, i need to get the kids ready for school” i said.
” Okay” he released his grip.
I got out of his room and met the kids standing by the door.
I gasped shocked.
” Mum? They called.
Angel and Mabel looked at each other.
” You are in dad’s room? Angel asked.
” Uhmmmm…I…”
” Mum, we were waiting for you to come to our room but you didn’t show up, we checked your room but you are not there but here you are” Angel said smiling.
” In dad’s room” Mabel said.
” Mum… Did you slept there? Angel asked.
” Tell us mum” mabel said.
I really don’t know what to tell the kids.
” Uhmm not really, I actually came to wake him up..I promise to do so last night so he won’t be late for an important meeting” i said.
” She slept in my room”
Nathaniel said opening the door.
The kids gasped with hands on their mouth.
I looked at Nathaniel but he smiled
