Chapter 121
“Someone is here to see you,” a police officer said and took him out of the prison.
A smile formed on his lips as soon as he saw Martin.
“Father-in-law,” Martin called and hugged him, and the old man chuckled.
He was trying to sound respectful so the man wouldn’t think he was ashamed to have him as a father-in-law.
“Oh dear,” Mr. Jackson said, and then they both sat down.
“You called me, and I came here. I am having a flight in 2 hours, so I came before I leave the county,” Martin said, and the older man nodded.
“You are worthy of my daughter,” the older man said, and Martin smiled.
“I am flattered,” Martin said, and the man chuckled.
“You know, Martin, you are one of the reasons my family lineage is not destroyed,” he said, his gaze fixed on Martin, who didn’t understand what he meant.
“I don’t understand you, father,” he said.
“You know I just didn’t want to tell you this, but then I realized that you are the only one who could protect my daughter and my family.”
“Sir, I don’t get you, but I am sure going to do anything to protect Evelyn, even if it means I will have to give my life,” Martin said seriously, and the other sighed, staring at him.
“I found out recently that the one who wants to harm my family is a business partner of yours,” Mr. Jackson said, and Martin’s eyes widened in shock.
“What… that is not possible. I have never offended any of my business partners in any way.”
“You might or you haven’t, but the hatred is with me and my daughter…
Do you know Mr. Tom?” Mr. Jackson asked, his eyes narrowed at him, and Martin’s eyes widened.
“Mr. Tom. I know he was not a good man,” Martin said, gripping his fist angrily.
“Let me tell you a story.”
“There were two friends named Tom and Jackson. One day, Tom told Jackson to walk him to a hotel, but Jackson bluntly refused because his daughter was coming back from college.
Well, he did follow him. They had gone into a room, and then Tom said he wanted to go outside for a moment.
After he went outside, the police came immediately. They claimed someone was klled in the room, and under the bed was a dead girl.
Jackson had pleaded that he knew nothing about it, but then a small knlfe was pulled out of the chair he was sitting on.
They checked the CCTV camera and found out that Jackson snuck into the room to kll her, but he didn’t,”
“Do you think Jackson klled him or not?” he raised his eyebrows, looking at Martin, who seemed shocked.
He understood the story well. He understood the fact he was talking about his own story. How he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
“He was arrested, but then he decided to take the case to court because he knew he was innocent.

But then his beloved friend came to visit him at the prison.
He had thought he came to pay him a visit, but then he said Jackson should admit he did the crime, or else he was going to harm his family.
Jackson had no other choice but to do as he was told.
However, the judge probably felt pity for him because he took a bribe and sentenced him to life imprisonment instead of death by hanging.
Did Jackson plead guilty or not?” Mr. Jackson said, and Martin sighed.
