I stood up and tried to regain my balance. I floundered again and fell to the floor.

“Fiona? I said trying to touch her. She was still facing the back and I don’t know why .

“Don’t Fiona me”. A male voice said as she turned to the back and removed the wig.

Alas! It was a guy! I’ve been scammed.

My heart beat increased as four boys surrounded me with sharp objects.

“Who are you boys and what do you want from me? I said

“Boys? How dare you refer to us as a boy? Do you think you’re on stage where you can talk anyhow you like? One of the boys moved closer to me and a slap landed on my cheeks .

“How dare you”. I said and wanted to slap him back as he twisted my arms around my back and broke it . I winced in pain as they rushed towards me giving me a thorough beating.

They sat on my stomach one after the other. They trampled on me and I was really bruised. I spat bI.ood too .

If Drake was here these guys would be thrashed real bad .

I thought within me as I felt life coming out me slowly.

I couldn’t go home. Mom will scold me for being stupid .

I couldn’t go home at all . I decided to step further. So I can clear my head.

As I was about to plug my earphones into my ears , I heard some people struggling .

Who’s that? What’s that sound? I said putting my phone in my bag as I strapped it at my back .

I heard some distance voices too and I decided to trace it. Finally,I found them .

They were four, all in black hoodie so I can’t catch a glimpse of their faces at all .

A guy was in the middle and he seems to be arguing with them too .

Those guys were actually armed. I couldn’t see that guy in the middle well I only saw his back view. Then be turned to face me as I hid my face and peeped slowly.

When I discovered it was Harris.

Oh my gosh! I almost said aloud as he was being beaten. I wanted to rush to that scene and kick their a$s.

Who do I call? I tried Drake’s number but it wasn’t going through .

The only person I can call right now is Valerie and even if I call her , she can’t do anything but since it’s her crush she needs to know.

I peeped again and the boys were thrashing Harris real bad. He was bruised and he was bI.eeding already.

?Phone rings

*Song playing*

? Jenny I’m so sorry. I actually losed my mind then . She said apologetically.

? You’re gonna lose your mind when you watch this video . I said to her . I did a live recording of how the boys were beating her and sent it to her.

What does she mean by I’ll lose my mind. I couldn’t wait for the video to load.

Finally,it came through and I saw 4 boys beating a guy who is almost dead .

He looked so familiar. My eyes widened when I discovered it was Harris .

“Harris? I shouted , taking my car keys and ran outside.

“Valerie? Where are you going to? Nanny shouted but I wasn’t ready to hear.

Tears rolled down my cheeks. God please save Harris . I’m begging you . I wiped the tears off my cheeks .

I drove as fast as possible and finally found his car . I parked beside it and ran towards the abandoned hallway.

What the h’ll is he doing here? I said walking slowly when I ran into Jenny .

We looked at each other for a while when I finally broke the silence by hugging her .

“I’m sorry”. I whispered and she patted me .

“HARRIS is in danger, are you here with your phone ? She said and collected my phone

“Yh, what do you wanna use it for? I said but she didn’t answer me.

I peeped and saw the boys matching him on his belly and he was spitting bI.ood .

I covered my mouth and sobbed when the siren of the police made me stop weeping.

“Yes, the police are here. Wait! Who called them? I said and faced back when I saw Jennifer with my phone smiling broadly

“How did you do it?

“Doesn’t matter now”. She said increasing the volume.

“Guys…it’s enough, don’t kll him . The police are here,let’s go”. One of them said .

His voice sounded familiar. I couldn’t place it . I took a deep glance at him . One can hardly recognize them because they’re all in hoodie only for the fact that their sneakers are different.

They ran away leaving him alone in his own pool of raw bI.ood .

I and Jenny ran towards him as we helped him to my car and took him to the hospital.

“Guys, Harris is not back yet and I’m worried. His number is also switched off too”. I said pacing up and down .

I and Harris, we don’t get along well how come I’m so worried about him

“Harris is no longer a baby… he’ll soon come home”. Dennis said pressing his phone.

“Probably,he went out to have fun with one of his babes. I know his reaction when he wants to meet a girl and he doesn’t want us to know” . Rick added then my phone beeped .

It was a message from Valerie. I sighed and opened the message. I thought she doesn’t wanna talk to me anymore.

? Hello Drake! We need your help! This is Jennifer . Harris was beaten up by some gangsters and he is hospitalized . The address is below. Meet me and Valerie there now.

I read aloud.

“Guys! Harris is in danger. Let’s go”. I said as the two of them followed me without asking further questions.

We went there in my car . We got to the hospital and met Jennifer outside in the waiting room.

“Drake? She said and ran towards me as I hugged her. She was crying then it’s so bad.

“How is he? Rick and Dennis chorused.

“Where is Valerie? I asked . I think I’m more concerned about her .

“They’re both inside. She doesn’t want to leave his side. He’s unconscious and he’s really bruised”. She lamented as a doctor approached us.

“Hello”. She said.

“Hi Doc”. I greeted her

“Are you all here for Harris Grayson? She said

“Yes”. We chorused

“He’s fine now. He just broke his arm , he’ll be able to use it in no days. We fixed it, I think he’s sleeping now and yes the lady beside him is also asleep. She has refused to leave his side . You can go in and see them”. She stated .

I thanked her and we all went inside.

I opened my eyes slowly. My body aches real bad .

I can’t even explain how I’m feeling. I wanted to stand up and lift my hand when I felt someone holding me.

Her hair was chocolate brown and her grip was very tight. I wanted to lift my other hand when I realized it was bandaged.

Those bstards broke my arm. I tried sitting up when she stood up.

“Valerie? I said .

She looked beautiful than before. She wasn’t wearing her glasses and her hair looks tousled .

Her eyes were puffy and red too.

“Harris? How are you? Where is aching in your body? Are you really hurt somewhere? She said touching me roughly.

“Stop? I held her hand with my left hand since my right hand was bandaged.

“Harris? She said again . This time she removed my hand from her hand and took her glasses and wore them .

“I’m sorry, Did I hurt you? She said .

Why is this girl so nice to me? Despite what I have in mind for her?

“I’ll make you tea, Drake taught me how to make nice tea and coffee I’ll make you some now, just stay in bed”. She said talking like my mother.

Mother,if she knows what happened to me she’ll call me instantly and spend weeks in my house so it’s better this way .

She stood up to the table where she took her glasses. A flask was there alongside with cup and beverages.

“Thanks”. I muttered .

“You’re welcome”. She said coming back with a tray and a cup .

Her smile was bright. Why didn’t I notice she’s as pretty as this . She just acts stupid sometimes. No wonder Drake sees something special in her .

She’ll soon be mine anyways.

“You can’t drink this because of your hand so I’ll feed you”. She said taking the spoon out of the cup as she stirred it .

Is she trying to be romantic or what . A smile slipped from my lips as I tried to hide it . For the first time in my life a girl is gonna spoon-feed me

“No! I’m not a baby”. I slapped her hand as she tried to feed me and the tea stained my chest.

“Ouch…” I cried out

“Look at what you’ve done now”. She said . I could sense a tone of anger and love in her voice as she placed the cup on the table and took a towel to wipe my chest .

She stood in front of me and one would easily think we’re kssing each other.

Her hair fell on my shoulders as she bent down to clean my chest an my bandage , no sooner had she done that than the door opened.
